Awesome price, super easy set up, even for this mom/non-tech gal. Light and easy to move. Good screen quality. And best of all because the price was so great, I am a hero to my kids when they saw the size of the screen! We upgraded too so I could see better subtitles on those movies- win-win in this house!

Has great color out the box and an even better picture when you apply the HDR settings. Bright colors and the blacks are black. Easy to use and navigate. Remote is bluetooth and has voice controls thru Google assistant. Best part is that the remote has good range and doesn't have to be pointed at the TV. One advantage it has over the TCL Roku TVs is that it has bluetooth connection for sound bars, headphones, etc. Only negatives so far is that it doesn't seem to have as many menu options as a TCL Roku TV. Like the bandwith saver option for 1. I thought that was a TCL feature. Apparently its a Roku feature. Also there is an app available, but it very limited and only controls volume and changes channels.

Everything is exactly what you would expect from this TV for the price. Perfect for a large bedroom. Good picture quality and adequate sound without a sound bar. I wouldn't recommend getting the Android version get the ROKU because not all the apps that are available on the ROKU version are not available on the Android, namely and most importantly the Spectrum cable app. Android does not have licensing agreement with Spectrum. Currently my cable is only streaming, no box. However, a simple ROKU plugin took care if the issue, but it is a shame to buy a smart TV that lacks all the capabilities you anticipate. If it wasnt for that this would be a 5star rating without hesitation.

So far so good! For a budget TV (200 bucks during 2020 BF sales) it's super high quality. Upgraded from an older LG that began to ficker after 4 years and I've been super happy with the quality. Android TV is very easy to use (I don't know why people complain and say Roku is so much better... just select your streaming service and then they're all the same). If you can get a good price, go for it. Unless you've got money to burn or you're a TV aficionado you don't need to spend 500+ to have a great TV experience!

    TV YAAAY, ADS BOOOO.

TL;DR: Pros: Price, size, colors, wifi, Android apps. Cons: Ads, sound, Google being Google. Review: First off, I don't watch much TV, but I'm a huge movie and computer nerd, so I wanted something bigger than my 32 inch pro-grade photo editing computer monitor so that I could watch movies with my 5 year old old as we head into this lovely Pandemic Winter. The last TV I bought was a CRT jawn with a built-in VHS player, which was 1/8th of the screen size of this TCL and probably cost just as much in 1990's dollars. Times have changed for the better, tech-wise. Unbelievable price for this, so my expectations were tempered yet I was very pleasantly surprised by the picture quality. I use "movie mode" 100% of the time and raised the black level a couple of notches via the advanced options. With these settings, the picture is simply OUTSTANDING. No "soap opera effect", very accurate colors and nice contrast. The ideal viewing distance for an immerse experience on a 55 inch TV is about 7 feet, so this works perfectly at the foot of the bed. Very "cinematic". The Wifi seems to work well and we've enjoyed a few movies off Amazon and Disney+ with no lag issues whatsoever. Mostly I use this to play movies via HDMI from my computer, which also works great. My two minor complaints are the home screen ads and the sound quality. The ads are really annoying. Being a "tinkerer" and a geek, I was able to get rid of them - at first - by rolling back the updates to the Android TV Home app, but last week Google took away that option and they came back. Movies and shows I have zero interest in ever watching showing up as wallpapers on my home screen. But I found a workaround: had to do a factory reset on the TV, then when initially downloading the apps off the Google Play store, find the hidden, unmarked check box in the top right corner of the screen - checked by default - that says "automatically update apps" and uncheck it. Download the apps you need, then go into settings and disable Google Play altogether, including allowing it to modify system settings - because, if you don't, it will find a way to put the ads back. Anyway, works for now. Maybe this won't bother you, but ads bother me a LOT. if they come back, I'll just have to use a 3rd party home screen. Secondly, the sound from the on-board speakers is nothing to write home about, but that was expected. You may want to use a soundbar or something. I'm using a set of mid-level Bose computer speakers I had laying around and they make a noticeable difference. All in all, this was an AMAZING deal for this unit. I can't speak to the longevity of the product because I've only had it about a month, but so far I'm VERY happy with it and my kiddo is stoked too.

This tv has lovely picture once you make some adjustments. I love android tv perhaps more than I like Roku. I think for the price, this tv is a pretty great buy. I’d put it in a guest room or a kids room who likes to play games. I literally bought it to leave at my moms house so I didn’t have to use a smaller tv. Cons: sometimes the software glitches and you have to restart it from the menu to get the home page back. It will require some color settings changes if you’re used to higher end TVs. The remote isn’t completely responsive and doesn’t have a mute option.

Very good value and quality for the cost. I would say there are two minor drawbacks to this set: 1- remote is very rudimentary and lacks numeric keys to allow direct channel inputs. It does have a cumbersome multi step on screen numeric input pad to change channels etc. slow/cumbersome. 2-The remote is the only way to operate the set. No manual buttons to turn on/off or operate it. No remote...no tv. But beyond these two minor drawbacks it is a very good tv with good sound quality, additional sound bar not really needed. In short, an overall good tv.

I got this tv for my mom as a xmas gift but ended up giving it to her as soon as it came in. Because why not set it up for her and let her enjoy it while she’s home after finally taking a few days off?! I have the roku version of this tv so wasn’t too sure about the Android ease of use for her but I logged into Netflix and everything else for her and when I called the next day she couldn’t talk...she was binging The Crown & didn’t want to be disturbed. She’s now blown me off a handful of times so she could finish watching whatever she was watching. I’ve bought her many streaming devices before this tv and set her up on everything but she never put it on herself and enjoyed it. I thought Apple TV may be better since it’s so user friendly and we’re an Apple everything family but nope. I got this tv at a fantastic price and it sold out at that price very quickly. For the price it’s a great tv, especially for someone not looking for the brain I personally feel like if you’re looking for the best picture & screen quality, you’re not going to find it in this price range. As much as we’ve enjoyed our roku tcl the past 2-3 yrs, my husband agreed that next time he won’t be so cheap and we’ll spend more for the specs we’d prefer on a tv to get the better picture and screen...especially now that we’re both working from home and not going out, we’re watching much more tv than before so we’d enjoy a higher quality picture. Great overall tv though and it was the perfect size for my mom's living room. Now that she can see her tv better and going to Netflix is just pressing a button on the remote- she’s using it much more and giving herself time to watch a show and relax instead of 24/7 work she normally does.

Purchased for our workout area to replace a 40 inch TV. The picture on this TV is great for watching sports (which is what we use if for). Speakers are good but we use a ZVOX soundbar which amplifies the voice and cuts down the background noise to make it easier to hear while working out. Low weight and easy for me to carry inside and setup by myself. Purchased the Table Top TV Legs to set the TV higher for better viewing since the provided legs are very wide apart and don't sit very high. Great TV for the price!

Has worked very well so far. No issues. Under audio settings, you are able to delay the video feed to match up with lagging audio. It’s incredibly useful. Not normal TVs, but helpful for my speaker setup. Besides that, interface is simple to use. Settings are straight forward. It was a steal for what I paid (around 250). I’m more of an audio snob than a picture snob, so the picture looks good to me (better than the 10 year old 1080p I had before). It’s not crystal, but it’s great for the price.

I guess I got a good one! The tcls434 is a great tv for $398. Setting it up was a breeze and loading my apps was even easier due to the android tv operating system! All I had to do was sign on to my google account and google did the rest! The picture quality is as good as my samsung that cost twice as much. I did get the extended warranty because of the many less than perfect reviews So I'm good to go for the next 5 years!

This is a good size tv for the Black Friday upgrade and I love the Android tv setup. This in my opinion is a huge upgrade from my older Roku with the setup but as far as the tv goes... I’m not really impressed. This is by no means a 4K picture. It’s fuzzier than my old hd tv. It says 60-120hz. There is no other frame then 60hz. This is a bottom tier tv that Android spruced up with its smart tv interface. Although this is a nice tv for its price, don’t expect any bells or whistles. Just a bigger version of an older tv that you may be wanting to upgrade, which was my intention when purchasing anyhow so it’s fine for my needs but may not be fine for yours if your expecting their advertised “4K and 120hz”

This is by far the best value for your money. The Android tv interphase is simple to set up and use. The picture setting options allow you to adjust for multiple enhanced viewing experiences. The sound is far superior to many of its more expensive competitors and delivers an exceptional audio quality without the use of external speakers. Do not hesitate when considering this TV, it’s sure to be one of your best purchase decisions.

Tv Lasted us about 3 years. Great TV for the price. Got on a Black Friday Sale and happy with the quality for the price. Unfortunately, while moving, despite being professionally packed in a TV case the screen no longer works. Not a super durable Tv if you have to transport it. You get what you pay for durability wise but overall good TV.

Bought the 55" 4-series TV as a Black Friday deal for $200. Well worth it so far. To think that I was looking into buying a $600 to $700 TV. My old TV is a Sony one I bought about 8 years ago, I think. Still happy with it but I wanted one with newer technology and access to all the streaming apps I subscribe to, like SlingTV, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, etc. Set up was easy. Use of the TV has been easy. I like the Google Android features and navigation. I have a Tivo for OTA regular TV. I still have to switch between the TV and Tivo remotes until I get a universal remote that works well with both. If someone has a recommendation, please post. I like the picture settings. Easy to change depending on what I'm watching. I recently watched Star Wars VII on it. The TV automatically set to HDR viewing and I was very impressed with the picture quality. The sound is okay. I do have stereo speakers connected to use for movies or sports. I connected an Xbox One to it, but my kids were not too happy about it. There were some image issues. I didn't play around with the settings to improve the issue. Considering this is a 4-series TV, I don't hold it against this TV. I may get the 6-Series TV later when there's a deal on it, and we find an Xbox Series X to go along with it. So, so far, very good. It's been a Best Buy considering the sale price and quality, ease of use of the TV. I would still buy at $400.
