55” TCL TV & bracket.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. I have had it for one week which is insufficient time to make a worthwhile review. A review made too soon after purchase and installation would not be worth the plastic it’s written on.

Great Budget TV; Frustrating Issues

Great TV, terrible audio quality
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm absolutely thrilled with my TCL - 55" Class 5-Series 4K UHD QLED Dolby Vision HDR Smart Roku TV! This television has truly exceeded my expectations in every way, and I find myself enjoying it even more than the $2K LG TV I owned previously. The picture quality on the TCL 5-Series is simply breathtaking. The 4K UHD resolution combined with QLED technology and Dolby Vision HDR brings out stunning colors, impeccable contrast, and a level of detail that makes every scene come to life. Whether I'm engrossed in movies, gaming, or simply exploring apps, the visual experience is nothing short of remarkable. The integrated Roku platform is a standout feature of this TV. The Smart TV capabilities have transformed how I enjoy entertainment. With Roku, I have easy access to a plethora of streaming services and apps, all within an intuitive interface. Navigating through my favorite content is seamless, and the user-friendly remote control makes finding shows and movies a breeze. The design of the TCL 5-Series is also worth noting. Its sleek and modern aesthetic adds a touch of sophistication to my living space. The slim bezels and streamlined profile create an immersive viewing experience, without any distractions. What truly sets this TV apart is its remarkable value. Despite being more affordable than other high-end brands, the TCL 5-Series consistently delivers exceptional performance. Comparing it to my previous $2K LG TV, I can confidently say that the TCL 5-Series not only matches but often surpasses the picture quality and overall enjoyment. The fact that it offers such top-tier technology at a fraction of the cost is truly impressive. In conclusion, the TCL - 55" Class 5-Series 4K UHD QLED Dolby Vision HDR Smart Roku TV has won me over with its breathtaking picture quality, seamless interface, and sleek design. Surpassing my previous $2K LG TV in numerous ways, it's a television that delivers exceptional value without compromising on performance. If you're seeking an outstanding entertainment experience without the premium price tag, I wholeheartedly recommend giving the TCL 5-Series a try. It's a game-changer in affordable, high-quality viewing.

Excellent all rounder, best value for money
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent TV. Brightness and picture are great. We don’t have wide viewing angles on this TV so I can’t speak for color accuracy at wider angles but in a regular living room there’s no issues. Speakers could definitely be better but that’s true for ANY modern TV, paired with a TCL soundbar it filled the room. Fast action like sports are great. Solid movie viewing experience. I’d definitely buy it again. Better image, motion and backlight than Samsung or LG TVs that cost $300 more. A big reason I chose this TV is the Roku user experience. The TV is going to be watched a lot by older users who are less familiar with busy user interfaces and 1,000 options on screen. LGs TVs with the scroll wheel and wii remote style “wand” of a remote is a nightmare for them, especially if you have any hand shake after a long day gardening. The Samsung experience is so bloated and temperamental. Both also lack a lot of third party app support. Roku does a great job covering many different providers, the dedicated large buttons are so convenient, the options to change HDMI input are so obvious and clear it’s mind blowing that other manufacturers don’t learn from Roku.

Was excited then quickly disappointed smell/screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was apprehensive about trying this brand but needed a good looking low budget tv for my daughters room. It looked great in the store and was the perfect price point for what I wanted to spend. We got it up in her room turned it on to a very lovely picture and decent enough sound but very shortly after the tv let off a very strong chemical smell that filled up the whole room even worse the second day. That’s when I also noticed big black rings at the top of the display and weird shading I noticed when putting her to bed. Now the 3rd day still smells terrible in here and the fans are not blowing it out and the rings are bigger when I turned it back on. Definitely being returned and lesson learned. Not going with another tcl and will just have to spend the extra money on a better tv.

Best Bang for The Buck Smart TV today.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You would be smart to buy this TV. Excellent in every way. Best Bang for the Buck smart TV out there. Roku is the least buggy OS and the simplest. For older people who don't need fifty buttons on a remote, you'll want the simplicity of Roku. This TV is very bright, which I like in a dark room in the basement. The 55r555 is as good or better than the infamous 55r625 (which was so well reviewed back in 2020. Now you can get this TV for $450, and be very satisfied. I just wouldn't hesitate or bother with looking at any other set. For most buyers, this is The TV you should buy without regret. Trust me, I've been blown away by the picture quality right out of the box. No need to worry. Speakers are not bad. I sometimes use a sound bar, but don't have a problem with factory sound. I really like the headphone jack and use it frequently. You can get a long 15-25 ft extension for a few bucks and use good earbuds to listen to music. Anybody who doesn't like this TV, has a problem.

Great TV!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before purchasing, I read reviews and ratings comparing this tv to other similar models in its price range. This TV scored the best and it has lived up to its billing! Bought it for a small space set up for my kids in our finished basement. I want to swap with them now and steal this for my living room! This is the first/only QLED in my house, and the colors noticeably pop as compared to our other 4K HDR televisions which do not have quantum dot technology. At the same time, it delivers deep blacks with effective local dimming. The Roku interface speaks for itself at this point. It is easy to use, and the TV is snappy when switching between apps. You wont need to purchase an external streaming device for better performance. This thing is smooth and quick. The sound is "fine". I was worried about it when the salesman recommended a sound bar stating TCL focuses on picture quality over sound. You can add bass and fill the room with quality sound if you wish to add a sound bar. But you just want to hear the TV, its speakers are capable of being loud enough. I have a larger TV in my living room but this TV is by far my favorite in the house. This TV needs no qualifier as in- "Its a great TV for the value." It is a great TV. Period. I would absolutely recommend this to others.

Mind blowing for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an avid PC gamer, and tech enthusiast in general. I'm also very budget conscious, things that often conflict. I wanted something good for shows and video games. This tv is great. G-sync compatible 48-60hz, full array dimming which makes the HDR in dark scenes great. Could probably fool someone into thinking it's Oled. Out of the box settings are a bit extreme with brightness and contrast but there's multiple categories to fine tune each.

Great Quality - Highly Recommend!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m very impressed with this TCL Smart TV! The picture quality is sharp and vibrant, and the sound is great - without a soundbar. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through apps and settings. It’s also quick to respond, and I haven’t experienced any lag. Perfect for streaming, gaming, or just watching regular TV. Great value for the price – highly recommend!

Great Roku TV
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really wanted a Roku and was happy to catch this TV on sale. Its is a good entry level smart TV. I miss the voice command my previous TV had but I know roku has a remote you can buy to upgrade to that. The higher end Rokus might come standard with those. The picture quality is great. The blacks are very black and images pretty vivid. It does get a little pixelated when blacks and shadows mix on high def images. But again, a great, low cost entry TV. I love the roku interface and that is why I went for this one over a different brand. Has all the apps I want and more. Lightweight and holding up well.

New TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I really like this TV. The built in Roku is very convenient. I did notice, as others have mentioned, I have to turn the volume up higher than I did with my old TV in order to listen at a normal volume. I may eventually buy a sound bar.

Great TCL TV with Roku
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very vivid colors with great sound. The Roku interface is very easy to navigate with the minimalist remote. It would have been nice if the volume buttons weren’t on the side, but this was easily alleviated by using the Roku app.

Impressive Entertainment Hub with TCL 5-Series 55"
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TCL 55" Class 5-Series 4K UHD QLED Dolby Vision HDR Smart Roku TV has truly exceeded my expectations in terms of both performance and features. As a tech enthusiast and avid entertainment consumer, I was eagerly awaiting an upgrade to my home viewing experience, and this TV has delivered on all fronts. Picture Quality (5/5): The QLED technology truly shines on this TV. The 4K UHD resolution provides stunning clarity, while the Dolby Vision HDR support brings out vibrant colors and incredible contrast. Whether I'm watching a thrilling action movie or a serene nature documentary, the picture quality is consistently breathtaking. Sound (4/5): While the TV's built-in speakers are impressive and offer a decent audio experience, I opted to connect an external sound system for a more immersive surround sound experience. However, for everyday use, the TV's speakers are more than sufficient. User Interface and Roku Integration (5/5): One of the standout features of this TV is its integration with the Roku platform. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through various streaming services, apps, and settings. The Roku remote is simple yet effective, and the dedicated buttons for popular streaming services are a thoughtful touch. Smart Features and Performance (5/5): The TV's performance is snappy and responsive, thanks to its powerful processor. Apps launch quickly, and there's minimal lag when switching between different sources. The variety of apps available on the Roku platform ensures that I have access to a wide range of content, from streaming services to casual games. Design and Build Quality (4.5/5): The TV boasts a sleek and modern design that fits well into any living space. The slim bezels maximize the screen real estate, drawing you into the content. The only minor gripe is that the TV's stand could be a bit sturdier, but this isn't a major concern if the TV is wall-mounted. Connectivity (5/5): The TCL 5-Series offers an impressive array of connectivity options, including multiple HDMI ports, USB ports, and Ethernet. Wi-Fi connectivity is reliable, and streaming content over a stable connection has been seamless. Value for Money (5/5): Considering the combination of QLED picture quality, Dolby Vision HDR, Roku integration, and the competitive price point, the TCL 55" 5-Series offers exceptional value for the features it provides. Final Verdict: The TCL 55" Class 5-Series 4K UHD QLED Dolby Vision HDR Smart Roku TV is a remarkable entertainment hub that brings together stunning visuals, seamless streaming, and an intuitive user experience. Whether you're a cinephile, a gamer, or just someone who loves a great TV show binge, this TV ticks all the right boxes. With impressive features and an affordable price, it's a fantastic addition to any home theater setup.

Versatile and good color!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had this TV for almost a year now and we’ve never had any problems. We love the richness of the colors and the depth of black for darker scenes. The tv is easy for those who want a Roku setup, but our family personally hates the Roku system and would prefer to use Fire Sticks. Which is easy to do with this! Just don’t put in a WiFi connection on setup and it won’t download any additional Roku things.

Excellent TV for the price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good - I am really happy with this TV. I did a lot of research and for my viewing purposes and what I value in a display this is perfect for my budget. Great, deep dark blacks, very good color, and the 4k Dolby Vision is awesome. I have a degree in Film so I'm a stickler for visual quality and this TV is excellent. I will say the display model didn't look that convincing, so don't let that put you off. It was just playing a Best Buy ad over and over again, which didn't show the potential of the TV. But based on Rtings . com's reviews, I went for it and I'm super glad I did.

Surprisingly Good TV
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm impressed by this TV. I thought it would be a passable cheap TV and it looks much better than the TV we normally use. I got it in my basement to play games away from everyone else. The ease of setup was excellent. The Roku apps are very user-friendly, and it's basic operation is smooth. The color quality is much better than I expected at its price point. Are there nicer TVs? Yes, but will you have to shell out more hard-earned dollars for one? Yes. But for something under $500 this is a good contender.

Definitely a pleasant surprise
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You know, this is a pretty darn good TV for the money. I would even say it's an excellent TV for the money. Great sharp picture, Dolby Vision and Atmos are two prominent features on more expensive TVs. I also own two LG OLED TVs and while this TV doesn't come close to either of them, it's definitely worth taking a look at for the money. I liked this TV so much that I went back and purchased a second one for a bedroom.
