This is not a high end TV but for those of us who aren't obsessed with every tiny tech detail this gets the job done and quite well. I bought it for the bedroom. It is probably too bright for such a space, so if you're someone that likes to fall asleep to the TV but doesn't like brightness while you sleep,use it in a living room. This is my first Roku TV (I've been an Android TV user). I find Roku interface to be a bit clunky and overly simplified but it makes up for it with the amount of easy to find free content. If you need a new TV and this one is on sale, I'd recommend it.

The picture quality is amazing ; it feels like I can reach out and touch the actors. The colors are extremely vibrant. I absolutely enjoy this TV.

Amazing picture quality! The color, balance, brightness and black levels are amazing for a TV at this price point. You would expect this TV to be $800 or more. Who doesn't enjoy the simplicity of the ROKU remote control and the speed of the ROKU interface. The sound is very good from the TV speakers but the addition of a soundbar and subwoofer improved it vastly. I have a 5 year old TCL 43" that I have alwasy used as a PC monitor. It is on 8-12 hours a day 5 days a week, it still powers on and the picture is amazing! If you're not a hardcore gammer, save yourself some money and buy this TV you don't need the TCL 6 series! A sidenote: This TV replaced a Hisense 55" that only lasted 18 months before it died!

Never dreamed I could get this quality TV for such a low price. I had to replace an expensive ($2900.00) 55" plasma tv. Because of income reduction I was drawn to the less expensive units. I am totally surprised with the picture quality and sound of the TCL. I love to watch old black and white movies and this set really enhances the broadcast. Plenty of HDMI inputs, built in ROKU, Dolby. I prefer to call this an inexpensive rather than a cheap television.

This is my second TCL. Both are bedroom tv’s, that being said they are very good tvs. Excellent picture, love the Roku interface.

Great picture for the price better then others twice its price

I recently moved and needed a new TV for the living room. Picture quality is great and the sound is better than I expected from just the TV alone. For anyone who will be gaming with this TV, there is no noticable input lag from my experience and my games look amazing. Would definitely recomend to somebody who wants a solid 55’ but has a smaller budget.

Im really enjoying this TV, mainly use it for gaming works well for xbox series x and ps5. The 4 HDMI port is a plus. I choose this one over the google TV. Roku is more simple and has more streaming channfels available. VRR is good, although its not 120hz its still a very enjoyable gaming experience with good response time. Black look good, and TV is brightness is good. You can use your phone a remote. Its also very good sports content watching not alot of motion blur for a TV under $500.

TCL, 55 inch 5 series 4K UHD QLED is a good budget TV with Ruko TV. Screen Blacks, contracts, and color balance are surprising good for a budget model. The additional features like 3 HDMI and Live TV option are a plus for connecting additional devices and when watching over the air TV. It's short fall is not the TV itself, but the Roku software, where I would need to reset it every so often when sound or functions stopped working. I just have to remind myself it is a budget TV.

Love it! We upgraded our TV recently to this 55" 4K TCL. At first I was intimidated — it's huge ! And I don't watch sports or anything so I felt anxious about being the kind of person with a massive TV as the centerpiece of my living room. But my old TV froze up and crashed ALL the time and Wirecutter recommended this one. I'm fully converted now, and any fears I had about this TV being *too* big were unfounded. I even love watching the scenic screensavers.

I like Roku TVs. This tcl's been working great has a good picture easy to use. I would recommend getting this TV. Especially for someone who's new to tech.

I’m a bit of a TV snob owning both an OLED and the Samsung QN90A but when I was given a budget that was enough for a “Garbage” TV - this was what I picked. It’s not garbage at all! I’m very impressed by the picture quality, brightness and even sound quality (after making some tweaks). The Roku interface is very intuitive and easy to navigate - quick too! Highly recommend this TV as a budget friendly option.
