    Excellent TV - I own a 4,5 and 6 series TCL

The TCL 5 series is an excellent TV. It's 4K, HDR, and has Dolby Vision and has ROKU built in. What more could you ask for at this price point? The picture quality is terrific, the ROKU OS is the simplest and best OS on TV's today. Roku allows you to download any app you want while other major TV Mfg's sometimes don't allow you specific apps on their TV's. I also own a 4 series and 6 series now. The 4 series is ok but the 5 is better and depending on when the sales are on I would grab a 5 series over 4 if possible. Now the 6 series blows them both away but depending on where you intend to use the TV you can save the cash and buy a 4 or 5 series, they are both really nice. The noticeable difference to me in the 5 series over the 4 series is the brightness of the TV, the contrast is very good, the blacks are better as well, very low input lag (gaming) and the aesthetics of the TV are nicer on the 5. The 5 is a metal finish while the 4 series is a nice black plastic trim around the screen. My son uses the 5 series to play his Xbox games and to watch TV & Movies. Buy it, you won't regret it.

The colors are very good. The blacks are there and the brightness is strong. Roku takes a little getting used to. It doesn’t turn on to your previous station. Must always select app. Not easy. The REMOTE, standard infrared is useless. The location of the sensors on the tv itself are unknown. Almost returned the the unit because of this. Had the other Roku WiFi unit Remote purchased for another tv, took it out, paired it, and wham, the thing works perfectly. I’m keeping it and maybe I’ll soon forget the infrared remote.....

55” model is outstanding for the price. I bought this model after extensive research for four main reasons: Pros: 1. Color accuracy out-of-the-box and even better after little calibration. It requires very little adjustment and even if one made no adjustments, most would still be happy with the picture. It also has a wide color gamut. 2. Support for all major 4K digital formats. Most TV’s in this price range only have HDR and not Dolby Vision. This set has both (and HLG). 3. It removes motion judder from all 24p sources. This improves motion handling whether watching 4K movies or even Movies over Cable sources. 4. Excellent upscaling of HD, 1080i, and 720p sources, especially those from over-the-air or a Cale box. Cons: 1. A little bit of dirty screen effect although I only notice it when running test patterns on YouTube. 2. 60hz panel although that’s expected at this price as no TV under $500 has a native 120hz panel. 3. Doesn’t get bright enough with HDR sources. If you got the cash for the TCL 6 series, go for that. Otherwise, get this over other sets in this price range including its closer competitor the Hisense H8F which has serious reliability issues being reported.

This is one of the great budget TV for the price it has, and for the generally fair to good performance, it offers. This mid-range TCL TV offers elegant gaming performance, superior response time for smooth content motion, and gives really strong overall picture quality in both a dark room and a well-lit space due to its decent brightness and great contrast ratio. Its color performance is also good, which makes the S525’s HDR quality surprisingly vibrant. This is a great example of an affordable-yet-fantastic screen. The TCL 5 series also wins on its style. Its thin, minimalist metal cabinet looks way nicer than the bulky plastic of the equivalently priced other TVs, something which might give it an even easier sell for your family.

This TV is great! I was a little skeptical at first, but after reading and watching a couple reviews I went for it. The audio is great, the visibility is awesome not pixelated at all and super easy to set up. I will keep purchasing this brand!

This is my first flat screen TV and the first one that is 4k and I absolutely love it! it's easy to use and just as easy to setup plus the picture adjustment is awesome and simple as well. I had never heard of the company before I started looking for a new TV and honestly I'm a little scared of its ability to last but you have to give it a try!

HDR is consistent much better than previous TV. 3 hdmi 2.0 ports and an HDMI Arc Port. Different tv picture/audio settings can be saved between inputs. Many Roku channels to choose from. USB port on TV. I have owned this tv almost a year and it still holds up pretty well. 4K 60 is beautiful. No color bleed or dead pixels. Worth it!

I researched the TCL 55" series 5 before buying against LG and Samsung. TLC won. I watched their video and another comparison. Glad I bought at best buy instead of Amazon, same price. Amazon reviewers were complaining of recieving damaged goods. Broken screens.

I have not purchase a new TV for almost 15 years and My last purchase was with Best Buy. I still own my old TV and the only place I purchase big ticket item would be through Best Buy. My new TCL television is everything, picture quality is excellent and I am satisfied with this product.

I bought this for a new house and got it two months before we moved in because I got a great deal. Unfortunately, when I plugged the TV in all that came up were vertical lines. It was past the Best Buy return day so I contacted TCL. I figured it would be covered under there warranty, but was not. Basically TCL claimed I damaged the tv, which was not the case. So I am out $300+. I have two other TCL tvs and both are great. This was a bad tv and TCL didn't care. I bought a new tv afterwards and wanted another roku tv, but just couldn't support TCL. I bought a Vizio.

This TV was a great TV for about 2 years. Then one day it reset itself and got stuck on the boot screen. Am really wary about buying another TCL tv as their support was non-existent and they told me there was nothing they could do.
