    Tcl 55 series 6 issues

    Everything was working great. Today two days later I try to watch a movie on the hdmi . Screen freezes and goes black then back to Home Screen. White flashing light under the tcl label. Upon a google search I see similar issues. If this is going to be a ongoing problem I’d rather return it. I don’t want something already defective. Wasn’t for this issues 3 of 5 stars max..

    Image jerks and flashs after ~20 min. any app.

    Do not buy TCL tv's. Purchased this tv in sept. 22. 4 months later fast forwarding make the image jerk and flash and you have to completely exit the App to get it back but then about 20 min. of watching will start up again. TCL blaming it on my internet, but I have 3 other non-TCL tv never have done this and I can get it fail using Hot spot. I highly recommend paying a little extra and get name brand tv.

    Squealing sound

    Same as other reviewers, the TV made a fairly loud squealing sound when the picture was mostly/all black and Local Contrast was set to High. That happened every time the channel was changed in Hulu Live, and every time when switching between streaming apps. Setting Local Contrast to Medium eliminated the squealing when changing channels, but it still happened when switching apps. Although the TV was otherwise very good, I returned it as defective within the 15 return window because I was afraid that this was a symptom of a problem that could lead to an out-of-warranty failure later.

    Excellent tv. Great interface. There is a noticeable “whine” on black screens; this can, however, be fixed by adjusting the local dimming feature to a lower setting.

    Great tv youll want to turn off motion settings for less of the soap opera effect and having all motioning off will make the picture quality well... normal tv quality

    TV makes squeling sound when the screen is black

    First TV I ordered made a very noticeable squeal everytime the screen went black (such as when switching apps or when a tv show had a commercial break). Traded that TV for an identical one. The second TV makes the same sound when the screen is black, but its much quieter and less noticeable. Haven't experienced this squel with other tvs, so not sure whats up with these

    TCL Roku TV's are just the best value out there! Got this one for the RV and it is fantastic! Series 6 is the way to go. Have a soundbar with a woofer which takes it to the next level.

    Like others have said, this TV has a great picture and gaming features, BUT when the local dimming is set to high, it makes a high pitched squeal sound on the back of the set whenever the screen goes dark. I already exchanged my first one because of this, but just tested the second set and it's doing the same exact thing. Bummer...

    This tv is junk worst tv I ever owned I had it 2 days and the sound went out and I would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get sound and then a buzzing sound started and the customer service is awful now I’m stuck with this non working tv so stay away from this tv

    Thought I’d give this a shot over the u8H, the colors are dark, game mode dark and the brights are sometimes too bright, for regular movies the tv can seem bright enough but still on the dark side, the sound terrible but that’s what you get now a days with any TV, I dislike the Roku interface even though I barely use it I disliked having to even have to sign up just to adjust settings on the tv, remote looks like a toy that’ll break, the tv screw for wall mounts also sit low on the tv so prepare to measure properly when trying to mount, will take back the TV to try for the u8h or put more $ up to get something better

    The sound on this is not as good as the 32 inch and I’m very disappointed. I went in and purchase the sound bar to try and help it and it’s not much better.
