Good TV but a few complaints

The pros: Nice bright picture Very little motion blur if adjusted properly Easy to navigate settings, menus, etc The cons: Cheap flimsy screen. It seems just about every TV maker is using these flimsy screens that break more easily than the thicker, denser screens such as those found on the 2010ish Vizio M420SL. I wish every TV had that type of screen. The stand feels cheap because the section that attaches to the TV is made of lightweight plastic The settings menu hides itself too quickly after being idle only for a few seconds. It can be annoying when you're trying to adjust the picture. The reds, blues, pinks and greens are way too emphasized no matter what setting or adjustment I tried. The realism of 4K is almost too much for me. I actually prefer a slight graininess such as that found with 1080p. 4K is still pretty nice, it's just a very different type of picture Overall my biggest complaint is the overemphasis of the reds, blues, pinks and greens. Other than that it's a decent TV with a good picture but if I had to do it over again I would probably go to the store and check out some demo models to make sure there's not too much color emphasis.

Checks all the boxes for a gamer with the new consoles. Even does 144hz with my pc. Has 120 hz which makes a difference on games like call of duty. Dolby vision on xbox which looks great. Even playing Splatoon 3 on switch, the colors really pop. The clarity and colors/black levels are very noticable

Oh my Lord!!! This TV is SICKKKK!!! The picture is unreal!! I hooked up the Vizio DTS Dolby Atmos soundbar to it with the 2.1 HDMI cables and it's the same as a movie theatre. INCREDIBLE!!!. Blu Rays look superb. I don't need a 4K blu ray because the picture is fantastic enough with the regular Blu-Ray and besides,, there's no renting 4K blu Rays at this time. So far I didn't experience the cons that people have mentioned such as a humming sound while a black screen is present, or this TV not being as bright as other leading brands. Are they NUTS?? This TV is so bright I may need sunglasses. I use the Normal or Bright setting NEVER the brighter setting. This TV has about 1100 NITS!! How bright do you need it?? LOL (My previous TCL 5 series has 400 NITS) I see a HUGE difference. Dont listen to the bad reviews. They are too picky and tech geeky. You will LOVE this TV!! BAR-NONE!!!

Very solid TV for the money had a 2017 OLED in the bedroom and replaced it because of some minor burn in and this is a solid replacment. Hopefully it will get better over tome with updates and the Dolby Vidion looks awful at times. This TV can look fantastic eith the right 4K content though.

Like others have stated, there's a horrible whining noise that begins even time the screen gets dark. Which, when watching movies and playing games, you can imagine happens very often. That's the greatest flaw this TV has, otherwise beautiful picture, easy to use.

This TV is pretty amazing for the price. I would say that the HDR on this is amazing due to the high brightness. I would recommend this for people who want bright images and premium 4k quaity at a more affordable price compared to the 1000+ other Mini-LED TVs. I compared to the Samsung QN90A, QN80A, Q70, Q60. The first two are more expensive and are IMO worse in quality, the blooming was so bad. The other two are not mini led so the brightness is not even comparable. ONE NEGATIVE: The coil whine, hissing noise is annoying when local dimming is set to high and there is a black screen....black screen scenes happen alot so theres that.

Another great TV from TCL. The 55" Class 6 4K Mini-LED UHD QLED delivers. We have the TV mounted on the wall, very easy to get set up with Netflix and Britbox channels. We have this TV paired with the TCL ROKU TV Wireless Sound Bar (TSR1). Again easy set up and works amazing together. The remote is easy to navigate. Great price point for an excellent TV.

If you are a Roku fan, this type of TV sounds like just the right thing. The TCL is not. I have had mine for a while now and have to give it a 1-star review. The main reason for the poor review is the HDR features and the Dolby features. HDR, HDR10 and HDR10+ are supposed to give you this ultra life-like picture with great detail and depth. On this TV it couldn't be farther from the truth! The worst part, on TCL TVs you cannot bypass the HDR features. They make EVERYTHING you watch washed-out and smokey ... sometimes to the point as to make it unwatchable. The solution, I bought a Roku Ultra box, attached it via HDMI, told it to not use any HDR features (just 4K) and the picture is now brilliant. A very beautiful picture. But why buy a stand alone Roku box when you have a Roku TV??!! Hmmmm. Now, as for the sound: if you have a sound bar that has built-in sound processing, be sure to set the TV's (or Roku box's) sound processing to RAW. Bypass all the dolby-related settings. I found if I didn't the sound was very mediocre. I use a Samsung sound bar (with sub-woofer and rear speakers). With audio set to RAW, the sound is fantastic. Not set to RAW, the sound is washed out and flat ... the volume has to be turned up to max on the soundbar to hear it properly. You might not experience these problems, but I sure did. I would not recommend a TCL Roku TV NOR the Roku-branded TVs for the reason above. Get a nice LG and add the Roku Ultra.

Great picture. I’m a fan of the Roku platform too. The only issue at ALL that I’ve had, which I’ve read on other reviews, is I have to reconnect to wifi every day. A nuisance, but still a terrific value.

Needed a simple smart tv that my 80-year-old parents could use. This one was perfect. They were already familiar with Roku, so the learning curve was minimal. Sound isn't bad, but they do have a sound bar they use with it. Picture quality has been good. They are happy with it.

Did my research. I’m impressed with the picture and build quality as I was led to expect. Did just have a sound issue, but factory reset fixed it. Value/quality for money I don’t think can be beat. First TCL maybe not the last. So far I’m very happy (2 months of ownership).

Coming from a more expensive 2017 4K TV I didn't think it would be that big of a change due to the price but the picture quality and viewing angles are SO much better, I was blown away, especially for nearly half the price of my old one.
