Everything went very well. The installers were very well informed and the experience was delightful. They were very informative and knew what they were talking about. I didn't have many questions because they explained things very clearly and I appreciated that. Very smart guys. I couldn't be happier!!

This 55” tcl tv has a great picture and like most TVs now the set up is mostly automatic. The only downside I’ve noticed so far is that there’s a delay in the response to selections when using the remote.

This TV has been seriously disappointing. Every single TV that I have ever purchased has worked seamlessly and flawlessly out of the box. This TV has given us nothing but trouble in the two weeks since we purchased it and installed it. We cannot stream any apps without them cutting in and out and the TV rebooting itself. It has been a constant struggle, no matter what we try to watch. What is even more disappointing. Is the TCL customer service reaction. I have been going around and around with TCL for over a week and they just keep relentlessly telling me to update the TV which is fully updated, send useless videos showing random things even though I have sent several pictures and videos, this is like a full-time job responding every day to their request while nothing gets done to remedy the situation. This is both the most expensive and poorest performing TV that we have ever purchased by a longshot. Shame on you TCL!

As they often do, TCL has made a really nice display, excelling above its price point in terms of picture quality. But, as can be expected, presumably to keep the overall price low, they’ve cut some corners elsewhere. While this may be an excellent choice depending on your needs, I would generally expect more out of a TV well over $1000. AESTHETICS 3/5 TVs in this category are given a premium price for their aesthetic value. This TCL TV is remarkably thin, projecting less than 1.5 inches from the wall when mounted. It also has a thin frame, about 3/8” all around. But because of the premium price, I feel like it’s deserved to be critical of some small aesthetic blemishes in the design. - For some reason there is a massive mechanical pushbutton on the bottom that sticks out from the otherwise evenly rectangular frame. Maybe this is a feature of sorts, but I don’t get it. It’s not very visible, but when you do see it it seems out of place. - Also for some reason there are visible screws on the bottom of the frame. The top and sides are consistently smooth. These are only visible if you choose to leave the white frame exposed rather than using the optional magnetic frame with a pale woodgrain look. - The included optional wood-look bezel barely looks different from the integrated white bezel. It’s a very light color with very subtle woodgrain painted on. It looks kind of cheap, and the corners don’t fit into a perfect miter the way you’d expect a picture frame to look. Since this device is all about the appearance, I would have thought they’d pay more attention to detail on this. On the other hand, you could easily get a custom frame from a framing shop or a crafty friend if you want it to look beautiful (and maybe even match the rest of your home decor). GENERAL OPERATION 4/5 I am surprised at how cool this screen operates. There’s vents on the top and bottom, but very little heat seems to come through. The illumination must be pretty efficient. There’s a warm spot near the bottom, but very slight compared to other displays I’ve worked with. The picture is bright, good contrast, and has a very respectable viewing angle. Dolby Vision IQ is nice. Great clarity. The advertised “Ultra matte” finish looks like any other matte finish; I wouldn’t get excited about it. Usually screens are made glossy to improve contrast, but the matte look gives it a more pleasant, “natural” appearance. The LED backlight appears to adjust brightness in response to the video image, which is a nice feature to improve dynamic range and clarity; however, it appears to flicker when it adjusts. This is a minor artifact but I found it distracting when I was assessing the image quality. “Dynamic acceleration” feature claims to increase the refresh rate of the monitor. I presume this would upscale a 60fps signal to 120fps. However, when I turned it on it also downgraded the resolution to full HD instead of 4k, so I didn’t keep it on. QLED PRO looks really great. I love the dynamic range and the detail. The blacks aren’t quite as black as more expensive LCD displays, but that may be an acceptable tradeoff with the matte finish. The built-in speakers are terrible, but nobody is expected to use them anyway. I am pleased (because of a previous bad experience with a different TCL TV) that this TV works flawlessly when using HDMI eARC with a Dolby Atmos sound device, even with high resolution media. The remote takes some getting used to with volume buttons on the side and some other weird choices in terms of button layout. But it’s pretty standard, and hopefully you won’t have to use the remote much if you have other equipment connected to it, like an AVR or streaming box with a better interface. The plastic case of the remote has flecks of color in it that make it look artsy, which is a cute touch. INSTALLATION 5/5 With any large TV, make sure your wall can support the weight of it. The mounting brackets that come with this TV are fairly wide which makes it easier to distribute the weight of the TV over several mounting anchors, but the brackets are not wide enough to guarantee that you will be able to find a stud on 16” centers. You may have to compromise on the mounting location or (like I did) use alternate structural components to guarantee a strong mount. All that said, I found the installation process to be easier than I expected. It takes a surprising amount of force to lock the mounting brackets in place once the TV is on the wall, but once it is locked in place it’s not going to get accidentally knocked off the wall. One aesthetic note: installation notes suggest using small foam pads (provided) to keep the bottom of the TV from scuffing against the wall, but using them makes the bottom of the TV stick out from the wall farther than the top. I think it would be better to have four pads, to hold the top of the TV off the wall too. The included mount only works on a vertical wall. Ideally I might have wanted to mount it on a diagonal wall above my bed in a loft space, but I couldn’t do that with the built-in mount. ART MODE 2/5 This is advertised as an art TV, so I tried out these features even though I’m more interested in the TV’s ability to perform as a normal TV. The thin profile and tight bezel mean that this device is shaped like a framed painting or poster when it’s hanging on your wall. But as I described above, the frame (either option) looks kind of cheap. If I really wanted this to look like a piece of art, I would fit a custom frame around it to look nicer and better match my decor. In addition to the look of the device, it comes with “art mode” software, basically a set of images you can choose from in a slide show that are designed to look like artwork. It even has an AI Art category because, why not? Some of these images include animation, which is kind of cool, but at the end of the day it’s just an image gallery like any other collection of images you could upload into a slideshow. The art mode can be triggered with a dedicated button on the remote. I think that the art mode is also supposed to automatically turn on when there’s no other input, but I couldn’t get that to work. I also couldn’t figure out how to get the TV to stay on in art mode—seems like it turns itself off after a while thinking that someone accidentally left the device on without any content playing. This could use some work if you expect to display this device like a piece of art. But it’s a good start for a conversation piece when some friends are over.

There are many things great about this tcl nxtframe if you want a show piece or if you want a tv that can set the mood in your man cave/room. Which is what I have done by setting this up in my game room. And I do love it but there are some minor issues I will point out later. First and foremost, this nxtframe is soo aesthetically pleasing. I never thought a white frame would look nice. It does and it’s super thin and sits flush against the wall, although not in my case as I had to install some plywood because the studs in my house are too far apart but as you will see in my photos it’s still very close to the wall. The white border almost blends into the background as well, everyone loves it. Mounting I would say is not a breeze but is easy enough with the included paper to line up the mount perfectly. The brackets that attach to the actual tv to hang are easy to install tho after I screwed them in one of the hanger parts was lose but didn’t effect it being able to mount properly. Make sure to plug in your power and all hdmi cables before you hang the tv because it will be difficult to access or you will have to detach the tv and I don’t recommend that. The art features are very nice from the pre available ones to the AI generated. The moving scenes are very nice and my favorite, you can even select different music and background sound effects. It’s actually very relaxing so much so that me and my wife just sat there on our phones relaxing to it. It’s nice to have and not need to be honest. As far as picture quality goes, the tv is very good not the best but very good. Colors are vibrant and sharp with solid viewing angles if that matters to you. Contrast is solid as well. screen is matte which I love personally and it’s not overly bright which I prefer. The processing unit in this tv is top notch and you feel the responsiveness from selecting apps and changing setting and operating the Google tv os. Ive had older tcl tvs where they were not as snappy and I appreciate the speed. Remote is nice small and simple but not backlit which it should have been. Also the volume is now on the side like a roku remote, personally I’m not a fan as it feels awkward. Speakers sound pretty good too loud and clear with little distortion but I use a Bose soundbar. If you game then you should be very happy with this tv. This tv has all the gaming features you expect in this price range, 4k 144, vrr and decent response time as well. TCL even offers a gamer menu to change certain settings pertaining to specific games you play. It’s a great tv for sure and I do recommend but I think there is one thing that some users might not like. This tv is edge lit(leds are around the frame) and not behind the screen like most higher end tvs which this tv is. That means that you don’t have local dimming and you will notice some slight edge light bleeding and lower contrast levels. This might not be a big deal for many but for me you notice a slight degradation if performance if you are used to a full array local dimming tv. Some content can look darker than Preferred and some content can look a bit washed asked out. I understand why they went with edge lit. This is the thinnest tv and it does sit flush and it is beautifully designed. But I have to point that out. If that’s not a huge deal then Go for this model 100%. I love it. And I can take the minor issues as this is a beautiful tv overall. Ps- I didn’t like the included picture frame trim as I don’t like that old style oak color. Give it a shot you might like it better than I did. Also I hope tcl will include the legs so people can choose how or where they want place the tv.

The TV we had in the master bedroom was about eight years old, an although it was a flat panel TV, it did not have any of the smart features of many modern TVs. The upgrade to the TCL NXTFRAME TV was a good choice, as it has a stunning picture, a flush mounting system, and a responsive smart TV system (powered by Google). I have minor complaints with the mounting system and the sound quality. I’ll start with mounting the TV to the wall. The set received did not ship with feet—it shipped with the TCL exclusive flush mount system (I knew this in advance). The flush mount system has four pieces—two plates for the TV, and two plates for the wall. One set of plates is for the left side and the other set is for the right side. It also comes with a template and detailed instructions for mounting. The instruction sheet had incredibly small print, but was easy to follow. Having separate plates instead of one bigger plate for the wall makes it critical that you mount the two plates perfectly level with each other. In addition, there is less probability that you will hit a stud in the wall, and eight fasteners are required for the hanging instead of four. I have hung over a dozen TVs on the wall for myself and family. While this one was not difficult, it did require some additional measuring and checking to make sure the TV was hung at the height I wanted and that it would be perfectly level. I am very handy, and the entire process took about 90 minutes. Once the brackets were on the wall and TV, the TV was mounted in less than one minute. Overall, the TV sits about 1¼ inches away from the wall, which looks very modern and sleek. The TV also ships with an alternative color for the TV bezel. For me, the standard off-white bezel was the better color of the two, but it was nice to have a choice. The bezel can be removed easily, as it is magnetic. One suggestion I would make is having the power cord another color other than black. If the whole idea is to have a conspicuous TV, nothing is less conspicuous than a black power cable hanging down from the TV. White or beige might be a better choice. A cable channel is also a possibility. The usability of the TV is great. Everything is super responsive—there is no lag between the remote button presses and the response on the TV. I use YouTubeTV as my TV service, and scrolling through the guide and DVR selections was quite nice. The Google TV features (for free viewing) is also nice, and realize that in order to access some of this free programming that additional apps might need to be installed. I have this TV directly connected by ethernet, with no DVD player or gaming system. There are 4 HDMI connection for these devices, but if you have older composite or component devices, you’ll need an HDMI converter. The picture was nothing less than stunning. As a QLED panel with 4K resolution, the image was crisp and without excessive saturation or contrast. In my opinion, the picture out of the box (but in energy saver mode) was fabulous. The picture settings offer quite a bit of customization, in the case your tastes differ from the default settings. I also really like the matte screen. This really cuts down on glare and makes the TV more aesthetically appealing when the screen is blank. The 120 Hz refresh rate results in no pixelation in motion scenes. I did turn off the motion smoothing, as it makes me seasick. As far as sound, I fount it to be quite a bit tinny. There are a lot of sound customization options, but no matter how I fiddled with it, the sound is never quite right. The art feature of the TV is pretty cool. Either when the TV enters screen saver mode (or you force it into the art mode), you can have a beautiful digital painting or photograph on the wall. The Art app has about 100 choices, and the image can either be locked or on a rotating gallery setting. Again, the screen and color depth really make these art images look stunning. When the power is off, the white “plugged in” light is a bit bright. I covered it with a small piece of tape. Overall, I would recommend this TV. Mounting required a bit more care because of the mount design, but the picture is fabulous and the TV is very responsive to the remote commands. Sound is a bit tinny, regardless of how I tinkered with it.

After unboxing and sorting the parts out, I went through the manual to install. This TV came with the NXTFrame Wall Mount system, and I was a bit worried as I’ve always used a standard wall mount. The mount package came with a wall template to attach to the wall to mark drill holes and to make sure it was level, etc.. (This model (at this time anyways) does NOT come with a stand- Only the wall mount) Everything went smoothly, but I did get the level off by about 1/8th Inch or so, but I’m not that picky that it bothers me, lol. I still prefer the stands wall mount but this was fine. Once the TV was all hooked up, (which the back on the TV has some built in slots to route the cables down through to make it neater) I, with a friend, hung it up on the bracket, and I was done with the install other than putting on the for magnetic bevels to accent the TV. It is very flush with the wall and looks great but still have some cable management I want to do. I powered it up and after the usual questions on language etc.,, I was able to log into it with my Google account and it set up APPS like Youtube etc.. correctly. I first powered up my PS5 and SWITCH and each time the TV went straight to the correct input and off I went. AMAZON, YT Netflix all fired up quickly, and streaming has been flawless so far. As far as the picture quality, I am very happy. Very clean and bright colors. The sound through the TV was good but I use a surround system and it, as expected, went fine and the sound is top notch. I'm not big into the artsy stuff but the screen saver mode using pictures/ and or ART does look beautiful for those that will use it. I couldn’t be happier. I don’t think anyone will be unhappy purchasing this TV.

I'm quite into decorating and design and the only thing messing up my livingroom was the tv. A big black rectangle in the middle of the room. I thought about hiding it in a flat cabinet but that's a hassle every time you want to watch it. A great solution is the TCL Nxtframe TV. I wanted this tv due to the built in Google TV. I have read this platform is the best to consolidate everything your watching in one place. So far it's working great, even showing shows from Netflix. The interface is nice and speedy, no lag I've noticed yet. The picture looks great even through the matte screen protector. It does a great job of reducing glare but in a bright room it does more to diffuse any glare and can make the picture look washed out. The screen brightness is a downfall. In a dim room it's fine but on a sunny day it does not get bright enough. Hopefully future updates will solve the brightness problems. Mounting the tv was pretty easy. It calls for 2 people to hang it but I only have me and was able to manage the 55" model just fine. Be super prepared before you hang it tho, all inputs are on the back of the tv. I would have preferred the separate brain box for ease of changes in the future. I added extra cables just in case. I do love the fact it mounts completely flat. Only 1 inch thick! It really helps sell it in art mode. The tv itself is white but does come with a light wood look frame. Whitewashed maple is the best way to describe it. I would prefer it to be a bit darker but if you're crafty, you can change it easily enough with some contact paper. Having all the built in art is fantastic and you can add anything you want through the TCL app. It's a bit clunky but it works. They could integrate with Google photos better as it is running Google TV. I was excited about the AI art but it needs work. More options need to be added for a wider range of seasonal art and different subjects. Also it needs a separate brightness control in art mode. The art looks the best with the back light off as pictures don't normally glow. So far you need to manually change the brightness every time. I did hook it up to my kilowatt meter and with the back light at 0 in art mode uses only 31 watts. I love the remote for the simple fact it's white! So much easier to find it if you're prone to losing it. It's well laid out and comfortable to hold. One downside is it won't control older soundbars that don't have hdmi. My firestick let me program it to control everything. You will definitely want a soundbar too. The tvs built in speakers sound OK and do have some spacial effects but lack all bass. Even an old soundbar helps immensely. If you care more for the design of your room and want a decent TV that can be hidden in plain sight, I do recommend the TCL Nxtframe TV.

I sooooo wanted this to be a perfect Screen, as I have been wanting a "Framed" TV for this room for a long time. Really this is a 3.5 Star, but rounding up to a 4. I purchased my first Plasma flat panel TV, 22 years ago. It cost me almost $13,000 after TV, Video Adapter, Mounting Bracket, Custom drop shipping, cables, and my first HD Receiver... It also weighed nearly 175lbs. and it was only 50" Here we are in 2024. For under $700, you can get this absolute state of the ART TV, weighs almost nothing. Mounts to the wall LITERALLY with a few screws, and two tiny screws to the TV. HDMI, Wireless, Google TV OS, and just a STUNNING STUNNING picture quality. The installation of the TV.. This is where I lose 1/4 of a star, simply because of the documentation, and maybe the inclusion of just a little bit of plastic on the TV. It took a little while for me to figure out the math, on how far the top of the TV would be from the top of the mounting bracket (FYI it is ~ 8"). This was important, because we were trying to line it up with other fixtures in the room, and make it level. The paper template was nice, but was still a pain to use on the 55" version (having to fold it). Also, the instructions did NOT include a notation for the size BIT to use for lag inserts into the drywall (I ended up using 11/36)... Despite that, installing the brackets on the wall were not overly difficult, and they provided all the hardware. I ended up with only 1 hole in a stud, the other 7 are using lags... and everything seems super snug and secure. Then on the TV.. this is where another 1/4 star is lost. It is TWO square brackets, that are installed with just 1 screw each. So after putting the plates on, making sure that the brackets were square and straight... just a tad frustrating (then realizing after installing, it wasn't a big deal). Including just a small piece of plastic not the frame of the TV, either as a mounting alignment or as a stop would have been perfect. Now, the bracket, with it's hook system, this was nice, and easy to get it on and flush to the wall... but once up, VERY difficult to get the wires (I just used the power for now, but eventually will need to adjust the wall, so I can get a coax (antenna), HDMI for future use, and the power all hidden. That is going to be very tight, but it is okay. The installation was so overall something a single person could do. If you have a helper, great. Took me about 1 hour to do it all. now for the TV. Google TV OS, is solid, and very straight forward to use. Have your google credentials ready for the best and easiest installation. There is nothing special because of this TV, so refer to dozens of reviews out there about the Google TV interface. Super easy to download and access all he smart apps, once you have it connected to WiFi. Hulu, YouTube, YouTubeTV, Disney, Netflix, Philo, QVC... they are all there. So here is where I lose 1/2 star. The speakers/audio.. for me... sub-par, and is my biggest issue with the TV. The audio just isn't greate, and that is a disapointment. With the flush mount, no good way to add a soundbar or secondary speaker system. There is virtually no low range sound on this TV, no base. So for movies, not great. Okay for sports watching and sit-coms. The PICTURE though is amazing, bright, clear, great resolution... and then this really shows up with the "frame" aspect of the unit. LOVE using it to show pictures of beautiful scenery, as well as our personal pictures. This is going to be a very nice piece, to show our Holiday photos, when we decorate the room for the holidays. Easy to setup using Google Photos, and thus easy to keep up to date, and maintain remotely. My last 1/2 star... The frame. You only get the option for WHITE (with no frame), or the Almond (snap on frame). I wish there was an option for a black frame. We will probably end up painting the snap on Almond frame after the holidays. Lastly, I recommend that you go with the 65" or even bigger. 55", is just too small. but maybe it is me and this particular room.

Really love this TV, the included mount makes it nearly flush with the wall and everyone is jealous of the included frame as other TVs don’t come with one and they cost a lot. Don’t mind the speakers, think they work great so far and have a good quality, but we also upgraded a 14 year old TV so it’s a big difference for us! They probably should have used a flat/90 degree plug for folks with the outlet on the wall behind, thankfully our outlet is on the top of our mantle so we just have to camouflage the color (white would have also been better, walls are very rarely black…). Overall love it and would highly recommend.

A TV Worth Far More Than its Price

I'm basing the 5 stars based on the price of the TV. I'm also not reviewing the smart features or streaming features of the TV itself as I use my own external setup for streaming and viewing content that connects to the TV. For what it costs, you get an amazing piece of hardware that sits beautifully on your wall. The mat display is a lifesaver in our living room where we would consistently get glare from the windows. Now we get a crisp image without the glare. The only downside to this television is the fact that it is not OLED. There are some "hot spots" on the display where the light seems to be a brighter than other areas of the display. This is to be expected for the price, but the mat display coupled with OLED would make for a PERFECT television. Picture quality is outstanding, colors are beautifully rendered, and I haven't seen any pixelation or experienced any weird artifacts during action sequences. It is a fantastic Television that provides an amazing viewing experience. I highly recommend this television for anybody who doesn't care deeply about OLED contrast ratios and the like. We do have another OLED in another room, but this is our main driver now and we love it.

I recently purchased the TCL TV and couldn’t be happier with my experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless. The home delivery was such a convenience—it arrived right at my doorstep without any hassle. The TV itself was incredibly simple to set up. Hanging it on the wall was a breeze, and the frame accent really elevates the overall look. It’s sleek and modern, and it looks amazing as part of my home décor. What I appreciated most was how easy it was to get everything ready for my son. The intuitive setup process made it stress-free, and we were enjoying our favorite shows in no time. Overall, this purchase exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for style, ease, and quality in a TV!

Was looking for an alternative to a 55” Samsung Frame for a guest bedroom. Came across this TCL gem and we are very happy with our decision. My wife is not a fan of walking into a room and seeing the side of a TV bracket and everything that goes with it, such as the cords and maybe a streaming device, so this purchase solved that issue as it hugs the wall. The picture quality is good and the art work is solid. The TV is not used much, however, before guests arrive we put on the art work to give the room a nice touch. The included bezel completes the TV.

The picture is awesome and cuts down on glare like I hoped. The UI is super fast and easy to use. The TV looks great on the wall and isn’t an eyesore like my old one. It was a bit tricky to hide all the wires behind the TV so it sits flush with the wall, but it was worth it!

The main draw to this tv was to use it as a wall decoration that mimicked a piece of art. This does work in a properly set room, However the image of some of the boarders against the pictures, Breaks the illusion and look artificial. The good news is that this TV checks alot of boxes as a TV, For gaming, it has a high refreshrate. It has all the capeabilaties of the Google TV OS, and its sound output is on par with the rest of the TVs out there. Only issue is the price for all frame style TVs is higher than their non frame counterparts
