Bought this TV, May 1st, and not gonna lie was a little bit afraid to buy TCL brand since I never owned anything from them. Prior to this I was doing a 5 month research trying to figure out what kind of TV I needed and could afford. Looking back on 17" P series model and the reviews it had on every video and website, I was ready to go in, till I heard this new 6 series was supposed to be improved and nicer looking for the same price. So it was a no brainier to wait. I went on May 1st to Best Buy store, and guess what they don't have any... So I had to drive to their warehouse to pick mines up. The last TV I bought was 42" Vizio from 11 years ago at Costco for $1,300. I love giving 5 stars for products and services that deserve it. TCL R615 55" definitely gets 5 FULL STARS from me. I ran all the tests that other people did and saw no LED's popping out and now horizontal or vertical lines. Blacks on this TV are really amazing, brightness is really good as well. It's fairly slim and has a nice bezel and most importantly reversible leg stands. Normally leg stands are 48 inch wide. It was too big for my stand. I was able to reverse the legs and the width is now a tiny bit over 29 inches. Fist time using Roku as well, and they weren't kidding how easy it was to set up and use. HDR works very good, and Dolby Vision as beautiful as well. So for $599 This tv is definitely best bang for the buck. Amazing job TCL. Sorry for ever doubting you. :)

I know many people will somehow find a reason to justify going with a 1.5-2k Sony or Samsung when dealing with 4K and/or HDR but after having this set for nearly a month now, I cannot find anything wrong with it. Multiple reviews stated that viewing angles were horrible and they can be, but with my setup, no one sits anywhere near those horrid angles thus removing the problem. The picture quality is the best I've had in 10 years after finally upgrading from a pretty high level Samsung DLP($2500 set in 2005). The colors really pop on the HDR content and Youtube provides lots of if. Netflix and Prime Video have some movies that you can stream as well with these features but not quite as many as I would prefer. That's a content issue though, nothing with the TV itself, which is great. All of that considered and I hadn't even discussed the price yet. Worth Every Penny. Only regret I have is that I wish I had saved up a little longer and went with the 65 over the 55.

I did a lot of research prior to deciding on this TV and it did not dissappont. We had previously got an LG 55UK and then a TCL 4 series 55" (returned both) before digging deeper. The color depth and quality is amazing especially in a dark room. The local dimming, dolby hd et al really make a difference. On top of that the roku tv is a fantastic smart tv platform.

Really nice image quality with bright colors and dark blacks. Many other reviewers mentioned vertical banding but when I ran an image test there was very minimal banding, not visible during normal watching conditions. The only reason I give this TV four stars instead of five is because the corners are darker than the rest of the screen. It's distracting at times but it's not a deal breaker. Overall, great value with room for improvement.

This isn't my first 4k HDR rodeo. I also own an LG. Succinctly, I love the colors and interface. The colors are almost phosphorescent! No complaints. I highly recommend this 4K HDR beast.

This TCL TV is awesome, for the right customer. I originally purchased the lower tiered TCL series 5 which is also a great TV, but too dim during Dolby Vision scenes. I upgraded to this series 6 and gosh, is this thing Bright. I waited and waited for the right price and did not notice any major screen banding issues you may read about but I purposefully did not run any banding tests or look for trouble because I was happy with the screen and wanted to keep it that way. I think it's is a beautiful TV for someone who wants to be 'wowed' by the HDR/4k/Dolby vision, etc... especially at such a great price. I do not think this is a good tv if you are a passive tv watcher. I say this because I only watch TV when I'm tired at night with my wife. The picture is so good, but it can get bright (Which, I was surprised to realise, can be a good or bad thing). I also like the customization screensaver app from Roku you can download so it can show your own pictures or art... BUT (And this was the deal breaker for us) you cannot dim the screen when it's showing your screensaver. I called TCL support for help with this and they tried troubleshooting with me. So if it's late at night and the screen was set to super dim, the screensaver will blast bright when you winding down for bed. So I give this tv 5 stars for what it is, but it doesn't fit my need as a passive TV watcher. I actually went with the Samsung Frame TV instead. It's great for boring people like my wife and I who would rather look at a 'painting' on our tv and sacrifice brightness and Dolby vision than have our eyes amazed by the 1000 nit brightness of this TCL.

I bought this TV after searching on line for a new tv for my bedroom. Picture quality is awesome especially using streaming services. I purchased a sound bar and it was worth it. This TV came with Roku and I am so glad. I am streaming and saving money by not paying for cable channels that I don’t watch anyway. 4K LED 6 Series was worth the extra money. The price is right and I it has all that I want and need.

This isn't the cheapest TV, but it's not that expensive either. And the picture quality is fantastic. Not only that, it's a Roku, which has every entertainment app you would want. I'm a big fan of Shudder, myself. There are three HDMI ports and it's easy to hook up cable, Xbox/PSwhatever, 4K Blu-ray player, or anything else. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cheap TV but don't want to sacrifice quality.

For the value, what's not to love? Roku, enough peak brightness for HDR AND Dolby Vision content, low lag for gaming. We all wish it was 120Hz instead of 60Hz and an extra HDMI would have been nice but it is imposible to beat what you are getting here.

Managed to take advantage of the weekend sale best buy had on this. Pretty confident they will offer this tv around black friday for the same price to help move to the new 6 series. I battled about the QLED inside the 6 series and if I needed it. At 399 though this tv cant be beat so I went with last years model. Just wow the size of this thing and the bezels are gorgeous. Most sources look clean, colorful and crisp. Only time is through cable which cable is not the greatest source for testing a tv I use mostly my PS4 and stream movies over plex. Full sized blu rays look stunning, colors on the Ps4 pop as I didnt think I could enjoy Horizon and its colors anymore then I did. But I do, Overall if this TV stays at the current 499 price or drops back to 399 you would be hard pressed to find a better deal from another other company. Ive owned an LG, a Samsung and now two TCLs. LG panels are crap my mom had her TV after only a year. The Samsung was really nice and this TCL easily bests it.

I'm by no means an expert when it comes to TV's, especially since I don't use mine as often as others who binge watch shows or play tons of console games. However, I can compare this to a $500 4K Sony Bravio I bought a few years ago, and let me tell you this blows it out of the water. The blacks on this screen are handled well, and even the colors seem to pop more. The amount of options for calibrating the screen are great, I can't think of any settings that are missing. As for the Roku part, I already have an Xbox One & PS4 so I don't really use it for streaming, but I can say I like the interface when selecting different inputs. Plus someone out there actually makes a TV remote that isn't useless or full of buttons to push *cough Sony cough*. Games look so good, if you play Red Dead 2 or any Sony exclusive on this screen you'll see what I mean. I wish I could give a more detailed review, but since I don't run tests on TV's and just use it for casual viewing I can attest that the price is worth it, even if you don't use it often.

I love this TV!!! Excellent picture for the price, and 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision support for Roku apps. My biggest complaint about flat-screens is usually the backlight bleed that can be seen during dark scenes, but, since this TV has local dimming, this isn't a problem. When the screen in supposed to be black, it's black. Best TV I've ever owned!!!

I purchased this TCL TV after trying to wait out my old Vizio M Series from 2013. I read much online about the quality control of TCL and was concerned, but went ahead with the purchase. I am glad I did! I feel the pros of the TV far outweigh the cons: fantastic color, sharp 4K, and great HDR. The ROKU interface is incredible; by far the best smart tv interface and I think it will be very hard to move onto any other in the future. An extra HDMI port (it has 3) would be nice but the built in antenna with programming guide more than makes up for it as we are a cable-less household. I do see some dirty screen effect, but only in specific circumstances and only if I am looking for it. Otherwise I sit back and enjoy the amazing picture without wasting time looking for flaws.

TCL 6 Series is an exceptional value. Great 4K Ultra HD quality for a very reasonable price. Easy set up. Makes watching sports a completely different, wholly immersive experience. Big upgrade from my 32 inch Sony Bravia HDTV, which was top of the line 5 years ago. 4K Ultra HD is a huge step up in quality. Also, the ROKU smart tv feature is great and very intuitive.

This is a very mixed review, I know it is and I’m sorry if it doesn’t help much. Pros: Picture Quality was surprisingly very good. The Roku Software built in was awesome. Design was appealing. Price was excellent. We did have one instance when the screen shut off when my wife was watch a show where she could still hear the sound but the picture was off. I had to unplug the tv to get it working again. After that happened I researched it a bit more and found that has happened to others some of which weren’t able to fix. That scared us enough to return the tv. I will look at TCL again in the future as I think it’s a great up and coming brand but I’ll give them a little more time to work out some of those basic kinks. If you get lucky, I would highly recommend the tv, however that slight chance of getting a dud was enough for us to return.

I was looking for a great TV for gaming purposes first and foremost and for watching TV as secondary. Its a great TV with low input lag for gaming. The picture quality is fantastic once you get the settings the way you want it. I would highly recommend this purchase if you want to spend under $1,000 for a 55 inch TV. If you don't care about the cost, there are a FEW TV's that are better but cost twice as much. I have recommended to some of my closest friends who have purchased the TV also and have been appreciative of the recommendation. My only gripe has been the TV settings. I had a hard time finding picture settings that looked realistic on regular cable programs. I watch alot of sports and the normal settings over exaggerate the colors. So, I had to spend some time tweaking my settings for sports and other programs but overall I am very happy with the picture quality vs price. Also, the ROKU is amazing. First time I have used ROKU and its great..

This is my second TCL tv. My son has a 4series. The 6series is got a little hype from the early CES reviews. I bit the bullet and got my tv on 5/1. Its in a really nice brushed aluminium case. The feet are solid metal, no plastic. The colors and blacks seem very good. This is my first TV with dimming zones and its def noticeable. Overall great value and very pleased w/ purchase. The built in roku and menu system far surpasses any old tv. Its easy to access all the settings and flip between HDMI inputs.

This is tv is great for the price. I use at as a "dumb" tv. I don't use the Roku interface on it because of the lack of parental controls. (Roku doesn't seem to regulate what content or channels are on its service) Using an Xbox One S allows me to have access to all the streaming services I use with greater control over what my kids can access. With the Xbox One S having an IR emitter and the TCL having the option to always turn on to the HDMI I want to use, its nice to be able to use one remote for everything. I bought a separate Xbox remote that is like a tv remote. The picture is outstanding. I do not seem to have any problems with vertical banding that some have had. When you can watch HDR content it looks great on this tv. The HDR standard is still being worked out among device manufacturers and content providers but this tv can play HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. Unfortunately at the time of this review, Xbox only supports Dolby Vision on select brands of tv but TCL is working on providing an update so it can be compatible with the Xbox. HDR 10 works on the Xbox with this tv.

A Great First 4K Smart TV

This is my first TV over 32”, my first “Smart TV,” my first 4K resolution TV. Having nothing else to compare it to, I think this TV is great! But even if I did have something else to compare it to, I would still think this is great! I have had Rokus for other TVs and having a TV with Roku built in is fantastic! I’m a fan of their user-friendly layout and it translates perfectly into the TV variety. Picture quality is great. Audio is fine for a small room in an apartment, but could probably be better with a SoundBar – definitely if you have a larger room or area to cover. The one other downside is that the remote has to be pointed precisely at the TV to do anything, which can be a bit a chore if you’re accustom to a remote that does what you wish no matter where you point it. In conclusion though, this TV was worth it.
