Pros Good picture quality but the reds look over saturated. The build in Roku works well. Cons Remote is IR not RF like my other stand alone rokus so you need to point it at the tv to use it The mounting point is really flimsy. If you have it on a full motion mount it will wobble a bit

I recently replaced my 8 year old 55” LG with this TCL 55”. The LG was not a smart tv, but it was a higher end model when purchased. I paid 3 times what was paid for the TCL. This upgrade has been excellent. It has eliminated the need to use a firestick to stream content. Obviously the picture is much sharper on this newer model. I only have two things that I consider to be negative. First, remote that came with the television has to be pointed directly at the censor to work, Spectrum remote cannot operate this model. Lastly, there is no way to assign one input as a default. You have to select an input every time you turn it on. I would have given 5 stars if not for those 2 things.

After moving into a new house, we bought this tv because it had been the top tv for the past two years with its older models. For the price that you pay, you really get a great deal both with sound and video quality. We were going to install a soundbar but decided against it since the tv's speakers are impressive enough. Roku tv is very well integrated into the tv. You can add applications, delete them, and move them around to have your favorites up first. I wish there were more apps available, but I'm sure with time that will not be a problem. The only thing that would be better is if you could control the tv with the remote from anywhere. You always have to point it at the tv with no obstacles in the way for it to work. Otherwise, very impressed and satisfied.

I bought this tv to replace my 9 year old 47" Vizio 1080p. But before i got this i went and bought a 2019 vizio 55 v-series. Sadly the vizio v-series was not as good as my 9 year old tv. The screen was always fuzzy and it haf some kind fog look. So i returned it and got mt money back. I looked at some reviews on the TCL 55 6 series and compared it to a number of other tv's including some oled's. Went to my local best buy store and looked at it there. The picture quality on this budget tv is so impressive. And even when comparing to the more expensive Oled tvs it still has a very impressive picture. I didnt even have to adjust the pucture settings that much. The only complaint i have is of the remote. You have to point it directly to the tv and it responds a little slow. For a very nice tv it should of come with the upgraded voice remote. Overall im very satisfied with this tv. Good work TCL!

    The Bedroom TV

I was on a two week search for a great bedroom tv in the 50 to 55 inch range, that had all the latest picture and audio technologies, had an excellent picture quality and at a great price. I didn’t care about the “Smart” features of the TVs because I’m connecting my Apple TV 4K for all my streaming. I compared this to the Samsung NU8000 series, the Samsung Q6F, LG 8000 series, and the Hisense H9E Plus. For reference I have the Sony Z9D 65in as my living room TV so I know a good picture when I see one. Let me say the TCL 6 series is truly an Amazing TV overall. The low price is just an added bonus. I don’t care for the Roku system, but you do have to set it up in order to use this TV, there is no way of getting around it, I tried. I was able to set up my Apple TV 4K to thhis. I problem and with HDMI CEC, I’m able to control the power and volume functions with the Apple TV so I only have to use one remote. The speakers on this TV are decent for the bedroom, but could use some bass. The panel lottery is true about any TV brand honestly, and so far the one I got has been great. I used rtings.com as my baseline for picture settings. Watching HD content on this TV looks really good, the colors pop like they did in the store and the motion technology used is just fine, even though this is a 60hz native panel. At $499, this TV is a steal and is the perfect bedroom TV. Of course you could pay more for better TVs, but if you are smart and practical, this is the TV to buy. Get the 5 year best buy warranty at $99 for peace of mind.

Easy to use, good picture and we like the Roku TV features. The only thing I would improve is placement of the volume controls on the remote. Every new user to pick up the remote struggles to find the tiny volume button on the side. Its a UX design fail.

TCL is rapidly growing a name for itself for not only making cost friendly tv’s, but tv’s that are actually really good with features you would expect on a higher cost tv. I have been using this tv for a few months now and it’s been really good. I use it mainly for gaming and the input lag is superb. The picture quality is really nice as well. The only downside I would say about this tv is the volume for the built in Roku apps is very low and I’ve come to learn that it is a common problem. I have to bump the volume to near 60-70 to hear clearly what’s going on. That’s why I don’t use them as often even though the roku user interface is probably the best ive used on a tv.

I purchased this TV based upon reviews. When I went to go buy one I realize that everyone was selling last year's TV in the store. If I wanted this beautiful thing I would have to order it and go pick it up. You better believe that's exactly what I did and boy am I happy with my purchase. I can connect this thing through everything I have in the house that I want to view videos look at pictures or Jam to music to. I didn't really know what Roku was when I first purchased it but I sure found out really quickly. It made my TV experience the best thing I have ever seen in a TV. All I had to do was connected to my network and Roku brought everything to me that I needed. Most of it was free, some that I already had purchased and had connections to. And best of all I'm able to give my grandchildren a great experience with Roku with the push of a button without any additional purchase and great high quality. Loving this TV.

The TCL is absolutely fantastic, I am loving this TV set. I wish I could’ve gotten the 65 inch but that’s neither here nor there. Everything I have streamed looks great from Netflix to Hulu to 4K movie rentals. I haven’t gamed with my ps4 yet but I’m sure it looks fantastic. There’s even a gaming input lag feature just to help gaming. There’s also a lot of settings that can be adjusted to achieve the best picture. My set is really dim because it’s in a blacked out room of the house and my wife said it was still to bright! Lol this tv is awesome and you would not be disappointed purchasing this and taking it home. If I could, I would replace all my TVs in my house with these. They are the real deal and are very affordable.

Great TV with 1 minor issue

I've had this TV for 8 months now, and I can say that it is amazing for the price. Great color, great clarity, and even the smart features are decent. Menus don't feel slow and apps like Netflix and Prime Video don't feel sluggish. My one issue (hence the 4 stars) is that sometimes the optical audio out port stops working. My sound bar no longer receives a signal. I have to unplug the TV, then after it hard reboots, the issue goes away. I've had it happen 3 times in 8 months, which isn't horrible, but can be kind of annoying. I still recommend this TV if you're in the market for a solid picture at a reasonable price. I mean, it's obviously not on the level of an OLED television, but it definitely looks great compared to any of its competition at this price point.

Our old TV was about 12 years old, one of the internal speakers had gone bad, and it was just time to get a new one. After reading Best Buy customer reviews, as well as looking at other reviews we settled on a brand we were unfamiliar with, the TCL 6 series and boy are we glad we did. Everything went smoothly from the free delivery (the delivery guys were great) to my son and I getting it set up, to getting all of our Roku channels transferred from our old TV to the TCL. The setup was a breeze, it walked us through getting the Roku set up, the picture is amazing, the sound is just fine, and everything is controlled with one small remote. (I miss having an lanyard on the remote as it makes it a little harder to find when you misplace it, but not enough to take away a star.) All in all, very pleased with the value for money of this TV.

The HDR is amazing on this tv outputting 800 nits of brightness to your face in contrast with completely black areas utilizing the 96 local dimming zones. This tv is using the same tech as Samsung's Qled so the colors really pop. Couldn't be happier.

Best TV I've ever had. Lovely picture, great blacks, handsome design, Roku is a great interface. Have always had my eye on OLED TVs. Unfortunately they,re way out of my price range but I can sure live with this. And it will save me some time as I've already quit stopping to drool over those OLEDs every time I go in a store. Have had it a for a few months now, no problems, nothing to criticize. Nice feature that the legs are reversible so that it will sit on smaller cabinets. But then maybe that's standard on all these new sets with wide stance legs. In any event, made life a little easier until I could get it wall mounted. Couldn't be more pleased.

I did a lot of research on this TV before making the purchase, and I am so glad I did. The picture is simply fantastic! Even my wife, who says she doesn't notice the difference between Blu-ray and DVDs, immediately said the picture is impressive. And that's only even with standard HD content streamed from Netflix and games on a standard PS4. I'm sure UHD and HDR content will be even more impressive. I've never used Roku before, but it's been really simple and straight forward. It's highly customizable and intuitive. This TV is just a heck of a deal considering what you get for the price.

After weeks of reviews for my 1st 4k TV, I settled on this one. It was rated the #1 4k budget TV. I have been very impressed with the picture. I only have 3 complaints. The remote is not bluetooth so you have to point it directly at the IR receiver. The tv seems to display noticable vertical lines when the content is light. It's somewhat distracting. Regardless of settings, there will always be some level of motion blur in fast scenes or sports. Having said all of that, I'd buy it again for $600. The positives far outweigh the cons.

For 600 bucks, this tv cannot be beat, excellent picture quality and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10. Clean blacks, excellent color. Minor easily overlooked issues include, minor faint banding on solid colored screens and dimmed corners. That's it.

Recently the prices came down on 4k TVs so I decided to replace my 43" 3D 1080p tv. I did my research and the 6 series TCL ROKU got the best reviews for the price. Best Buy delivered and I set the TV up. Once it was hooked up I started streaming Curiosity Stream and used the settings from RTINGS.com with a little tweaking until I got the picture the way I like it. WOW! the 4k content was AMAZING!! The colors really pop and the 1080p content that I had watched previously upscaled by the TV was so much better. Then I connected my PS4 PRO and was blown away. The upscaling was incredible and the HDR games were sick!!! My Blu-Ray DVDs are also incredible and I have started watching them all over again. If you haven't moved up to 4k yet, DO IT! You won't be sorry and you don't have to spend $2000 to do it.

Price matters in consumer electronics and in that case it over performs. Compared to a high end OLED it's not that great but you will pay several magnitudes more. As far as a budget set the Roku software can be a bit sluggish. The build is slim but nothing to write home about and there is some issue with off axis viewing. However, the HDR is great and is definitely a bigger deal than just the added resolution for the vast majority of content. Deeper richer colors add so much more character to images and the extra sharpness does look great with native 4K content. Blacks that resembled my old Plasma and I can't say I regret this purchase in any way.
