First off I've been buying tvs from best buy for 20 years, and I'm an elite plus member, in all my years of buying tvs I've never written a review but this tv is so good i am compelled to write a review. This tv is not only a great 4ktv for the money but its a great 4ktv period. It has feature higher end models don't have like dolby vision, hdr and roku tv. let me explain how important roku is to this tv. I have a roku 4k streaming box and it gets very hot and freezes a lot when i watch movies, with this rook built in to the tv i haven't had any problems streaming anymore. i usually stream with psvue and direct now both would freeze with regular roku 4k but not with this tv. Tcl is the best company making 4ktvs right now, and making them so affordable my hat goes off to them for not ripping people off with crazy mark ups, i can't wait to they come out with the 65inch model. TCL has proven you can make an incredible 4ktv for an affordable price, i will no longer waste money on expensive tvs and i have before from oled to top end sony and samsung.

if you've been a lurker on these review pages (like I have), I have only one advise; drop your research and go buy this TV. I researched the usual Samsungs and LG's for months, tracked their price on Thxgiving, Super Bowl and product phase out sale events....and all I did was procrastinate. I have had this TV now for a little under 2 months and I am very satisfied with this unit. Great picture at a fantastic price. I picked up a samsung soundbar and an LG 4k player so I can augment the sound on this TV which is a usual suspect on the negative and have true 4k available through UHD discs; all ~$1,000 bucks whereas a similar Samsung / LG TV alone would have cost be $1500+...so don't wait no longer, stop researching, and just go buy this at your local best buy...trust me you will not be disappointed.

I’m so glad that I went online and read reviews on the current 4K UHD televisions. This television certainly out performs any other high-end or even mid range television that I’ve purchased. The picture quality on this television is amazing I love the separate dimming zones that truly do make an HDR experience worth the extra money. The interface is easy to Navigate,The apps are Plentiful, and being able to move the app icons and customize your home screen is a bonus. I would not spend the extra 50 or $100 to get the voice remote because you can use your phone app with or any smart home automation to operate the television. Hopefully they will come out with a larger size version so I can buy one for my living room as I’m using this one as my bedroom television and it’s perfect!

Great budget 4K tv HDR. Picture is fantastic. Roku works perfectly.

I read all the reviews about this tv before I bought it. It more than meets my expectations.

This TV is excellent, especially since it's considered "budget" and comes with an affordable price tag. The Roku platform itself is super easy to use and very fast. It was a nice replacement to the external Roku device I used to have connected. The picture is great... nice colors, nice blacks, smooth transitions, etc. I don't think you'll find a better picture on even some of the higher end LED 4K TVs. The remote is very simple, if you prefer more options you can use your phone as a remote via the Roku app. It's another nice feature. The only downside is the sound. If you want quality sound for watching sports or movies I'd suggest a soundbar or external sound system. For everyday viewing the stock speakers are sufficient.

For about a month or so, I was reading alot into 4k tvs and all the features between a few brands. The ultimate choice for me was this 55" TCL 4k set. The plus with this tv is it has a nice feature of HDR. Being that I Game and like to watch high quality movies, this was the best bet that i could afford. Not disappointed with this tv at all! I've owned it for a month or two and still enjoy. My suggestion is to research what you need and want in a 4k tv and the price you can afford. For $600 plus. It's a win!! I hope this helped someone that is on the ropes on what to do. Have a good one

I originally was looking at a few other brands till a friend introduced me to this brand. Since taking a look a few months ago and doing my research this is a killer deal for a set of this size with the features it has. As long as your ok with a 55" TV, its something you won't regret. Zero dead pixels, fantastic on/off times on the TV, low power consumption, deep blacks, bright TV and LOTS of features thanks to the Roku interface. Only downside is this has the infrared remote vs the bluetooth remote of the other model that is out there (more money). As for any other wishes, can only say is if they had a bigger model (65" that they just decided to not do for 2017) I might of considered that one.
