Sadly my TV is not working properly. With it being 65" the task of returning it or exchanging it is going to be a big deal so now it's up to if i can live with it or try to return it and hope that the next one i get is good. I already have the Tv on the wall (was not easy). Best buy should take the TV out and test before you leave the store. This would save people so much time and trouble. So whats wrong? The Backlight does not change. It's stuck at 100% no matter how you change the settings on the TV. Tried everything to fix it hoping it was a software error. Sadly nothing worked. There is also grey bars. They are most noticeable when playing a game and the game becomes a grey mess.

We cut the cord so everything we view is streamed or on an antenna. Roku is the best streaming system in our opinion. Every review we read says if you want the best Roku TV get a TCL. We decided on the 5 Series TCL because it has the same QLED screen as the 6 Series and we didn't need the extra bells and whistles. We are very happy with our decision. The picture is bright and very clear from corner to corner. Set up was easy and there are advanced settings if you need to fine tune the picture. The speakers are not great but we have a surround sound system and don't use the TV speakers. Uses any common TV wall mount.

Really love this TV. The picture quality is incredible, especially at this price point. Had an issue with the display flickering, but a factory reset has seemingly fixed that problem. The Roku interface is really easy and convenient. Biggest criticism of the TV is the blooming. It doesn't have a ton of local dimming zones so light changes against black backgrounds can be noticable, but it's mostly an issue with text like credits/titles. Not very noticeable when watching content. I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone.

Using this TV for five months. Love the feature that the feet can be set wider or narrower, because we had to use a smaller table temporarily. The Roku interface is easy to use for whatever streaming service we want. Picture quality is great, no complaints about brightness, color, or resolution. We already had a soundbar so did not try the built in speaker.

Well Above Average TV For Sure !!!

I have had the 65S555 TV in operation since April 12, 2023 and it is a WELL ABOVE AVERAGE TV at a great price than what average viewers may settle for with another brand... I did my homework and actually changed my mind 4 times. I am not a gamer so 60Hz being a norm I am fine with.. What puts it "well above average" is being a QLED and Full Array Dimming at this price... It also has Dolby Vision among others... When you read technical reviews or the people on YouTube that seem to confuse everyone, I can tell you this is one great TV.... I was so focused on getting a Samsung TV after my 1080HD Hisense 55" died after 9 years, I am so glad I did my research and chose this one... You can't go wrong... Out of the box settings are great so not much to do to start using but I might try to figure out some optimal settings--I am reading that there are a few tweaks that maybe make for an even better picture and also can extend the life of the TV.... Buy TCL... It has a great international reputation and long lasting...

I needed a TV to put it in the loft. Didn't want to spend much money. I have always had good luck with Samsung, both higher end and the lower end models. I've read a lot of good reviews of TCL and thought I'd give this mid model a try. I was pleasantly surprise by the quality of picture. It's comparable to my high end Samsung, granted the Samsung is a little old. I like the Roku interface, although it would be nice to default to live TV when power up, but I understand why it isn't. Sound is fine and you can always add a sound bar or system to it. But I was really happy with the detail clarity and brightness of the picture. Got it when it was on sale. Very happy with the purchase.

Great for the price. This was an upgrade from a TV purchase in 2016 and it did not disappoint. You can see a clear picture from every corner of the room. The colors are vivid and the images are extremely well defined especially for a bigger TV. This was an excellent buy and I am extremely pleased with it.

    Awesome Roku TCL 4K TV

I am pleasantly surprised at how awesome this TV is!! This is the first time I have strayed away from big name companies like Samsung and Toshiba or small but quality companies like Sylvania, ProScan, etc. Most of the TV's in my house are Samsung, but my neighbor spoke very highly of his son's TCL TV, so II went out on a limb and I bought it since it was on sale. I love that the Roku software is built into the TV. If you are a Roku user, this is right up your alley. The colors are extremely vibrant. Especially the royal blues, red, pink and oranges. Very nice deep black color as well. All my neighbors made comments about how crystal clear the TV is at my NYE party and pointed out how the colors pop. I love that this TV has almost the same number of external connections as my $2K Samsung from 10 years ago in my other room. The sound quality is much better than most of the wall mounted TV's that I have. The TV even has an internal setting to adjuster the sound for mounting on the wall or desk/ET unit. I would have given this TV 5 stars, but there are two drawbacks that I noticed and want to be honest on this review. First, there are two V shaped "feet" pieces that connect to the TV if you want the TV to sit on its own that are made of thin flimsy plastic. In my opinion, I would be leery of using these pieces that should be made of metal. Thankfully, I mounted mine on the wall, but wanted other consumers to be aware of this. Second, the remote is ridiculously cheap and emits a weak signal. It is a base level remote that is ridiculously cheaper looking than the basic entry level Roku 4K+ stick remote. You have to be within 10-12 feet of the TV and have to point it directly at the TV for it to work correctly unlike the higher-level voice command remote that can be pointing anywhere and it will still work - even from another room. Based on the expense of the TV, it should come equipped with the higher-level voice command remote. Thankfully I had an extra one from my Roku Ultra that is on the fritz with a known software issue that there is apparently no fix for. All in all, I love the TV and would definitely recommend this to everyone!

This TV was recommended by a BestBuy sales rep. It does have a bright picture and very good color and I’ve been satisfied w/ it. It’s a Roku based TV. I stream my TV now. This was a very reasonably priced TV. What I’ve found is that it has a slower processor and when fast forwarding thru a recorded program, there is buffering. The Samsung this TV replaced did not do this. Complaint to All manufacturers, your customers are not as tech savvy as your engineers that design the TV. Simplify the operation & provide hard copy owners manuals.

Absolutely the best bang for your buck for a QLED TV. Not perfect in terms of UI and there’s been some occasional glitches, but it gets insanely bright, and the picture quality is great especially at this price point.

I may have just been unlucky, so take my review with a grain of salt... The unit I got had some fairly noticeable backlight bleed in the bottom corner. Turning the local dimming setting to high made it almost impossible to ever notice, but that came with it's own set of little problems. Picture looked best, overall on low or medium. I was ready to overlook this because the price was great and the picture was very good, but the offgassing was so strong it filled the room with a chemical smell, even with windows open and fan on I couldn't sit in the room with it. My eyes and nose were burning from it. Needless to say it was returned and now I'm back to square one. If you get one with minimal backlight bleed and can power through the offgassing or get one without the chemical smell- this is a killer TV for the BF pricing. I'm pretty disappointed it didn't work out.

Being a Samsung loyalist I had a hard time considering jumping to the TCL line. However, I did a significant amount of recon between Samsung and other brands against this TCL 5 series 65" and for an overall rating the TCL came out on top. Another plus for this TV was the price ($550 during a Black Friday special) and TCL has two options for the feet width (the 27" width worked for my application) which saved having to buy a universal mount stand. The roku platform is rock solid and so easy to use- very intuitative. Speakers are great. While the reviews noted this particular TV is better suited for straight on viewing we've had a hard time noticing much difference at seating that is off to the sides. Overall we are very happy.
