    I LOVE MY TCL

I bought this TV as an upgrade from a 2year old 55" series 6 and I can tell they made a bunch of improvements! The picture is super sharp and vibrant, the system boots up and connects really quickly, set up was much easier (it walked me through step by step!)... If you login to you Roku account it will automatically download all of your channels from any previous Roku device then automatically log you in to some of them! My parents came down for the holidays and my mom kept raving about the picture quality (on the old TV-- she has a 6 year old LG at home). I explained the full array backlighting a little and explained (from my researching of TVs) that TCL remains one of the very few companies using full array backlighting and they are certainly the best in price for the tech! I will say I always almost immediately turn off the speakers for the tv nd hookup a sound bar, so I have no information to provide as far as the sound from the tv itself. But on my "old" TCL I have an LG sound bar (works well) and on this one I have a Vizio surround sound system (also works well). Both have worked well with universal (size specific) fully articulating wall mounts, although from my nerve racking experience, I suggest asking for help to mount it as the 65" was a bit difficult (awkward) to lift by myself.

Almost excellent but has "dirty screen effect"

I wish I could give this TV an excellent rating. However, the display suffers from some lack of uniformity in brightness around the edges, the so-called "dirty screen effect". There's also some discoloration at the corners. This is most noticeable on bright scenes that contain uniform colors or when there is sky at the top of the scene. In everyday viewing, it's not too noticeable. (For comparison, I visited Best Buy and checked out other TVs. While there was frequently some lack of display uniformity, it was not as pronounced as it is on this TV.) Otherwise the TV is excellent. The picture is very sharp and the contrast cannot be beat: black IS black. There is no light bleed from the edges of the screen. The TV works perfectly on my wi-fi network. Roku was easy to set up. Some settings can be adjusted only via the Roku app. I connected the TV to a Sonos Playbase using the TV's optical output. The TV correctly switches the Playbase from wi-fi to the optical input when the TV is turned on and the TV's remote can be programmed to control the volume of the Playbase. The TV sound to be routed to other Sonos speakers.

TCL QLED is good option for Sansung's Q70

TV with excellent finish and beautiful Qled image. At this point it doesn't lose anything to the Sansung Qled Q70. The audio is very good. Negative points: 1- The remote control is ugly and not at all ergonomic. I don't understand why they didn't invest in a better-designed control with a voice function. 2- Roku deconstructs for no reason. It was necessary to repeat the configuration process. 3. Cable TV control (Xfinity) was unable to fully control the TV. 4 - The TV does not recognize the Sansung soundbar via bluetooth, it was necessary to use the optical cable. I just do not regret the purchase because the amount paid was much better than a Q70 from Sansung.

So far I'm extremely impressed with this product. Colors are phenomenal, no dead pixels on my unit. Settings out of the box are ok but with some settings tweaking I got colors and contrast and lighting for movies just prefect. In bright settings this TV does very well but it does show some glare. At night/dark settings this TV is amazing. In my small room this thing feels like a movie theatre screen to me. The built in speakers are fine but I definer recommend getting a sound system for it. Also the viewing angle is narrow. Anything past 30 degrees loses a lot of image quality and text is almost illegible. The Roku interface is smooth although I'm not a fan of the advertisements. The remote control feels kinda cheap and the lack of voice control is disappointing but it functions well enough for every day use and comes with a dedicated Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Sling buttons. I use this TV as a secondary monitor for gaming on my PC and it is really good! Highly recommended as this is currently the best bang for your buck on the market in my opinion.

Well let me start here I have been looking into getting a new tv for the last 6 months and I finally found one that fit and had everything that I wanted. The TV is slim very light and works just as it is stated if you are looking for a TV to stream lots of movies and streaming services for under $1000 this is the TV to go with great picture quality easy set up and Roku really has it down with its platform

Outstanding picture and flawless streaming. I have yet to find any "dirty screen effect" or any pixel damage. It removes any juddering making playback of older programs look amazingly smooth. I was almost set to buy the series 6 but i am 100% happy with this series 5. Reviews claimed it didn't get bright enough for dolby vision to look good.... Forget about that nonsense. It is very bright and it also is very good about not catching to much glare. The viewing angle is not as wide as some other sets, but in a normal living room set up it will deliver just fine. 4k and especially things filmed in dolby vision and ultrahd look realistic to the point it's freaky. Another outstanding feature that TCL thought ahead on is the ability to move the feet inward to accommodate TV stands that aren't humongous. Great value, just get it already.

Excellent value..The panel is capable of an incredible picture. Waited 3 months to submit my review. I did a ton of research before pulling the trigger on the 65" model to upgrade my vizio D series 55". $900 was my budget. Remember, a quality input source is key to unlocking the potential of any TV. I use an Nvidia Shield 2019 with the upscaling as my primary input. Let me tell you about some incredible picture quality from ANY content!!! Not the brightest tv out there but frankly, I have it in my living room on the opposite side from west facing bay windows..I just put the blinds up. At night with lights out .... Crank the Atmos (which the 5series handles properly) and enjoy!

Nice and easy television to set up in my living room. The picture was nice. But it really improved once I connected my av receiver and 4k hdmi connections. Roku is easy to follow. Only issue is since connecting to my receiver there's been no picture but sound only if off for some time. I have to disconnect the TV and plug back on for picture to come on.

Bought this a few months ago after we got tired of seeing purple spots on our Samsung TV (which was only a few years old). We're still learning about the features of this TV. The apps work seamlessly and there are plenty of apps to choose from (larger selection than our previous TV). One thing that was a little disappointing is that this Roku TV does not work with Spectrum, so you cannot download the Spectrum app onto the TV. However, it's not a big deal - there is a cable option on the menu, so no issues watching cable, we just can't use their app via the TV. We can still access the Spectrum app via Apple TV if needed, for example when our box is acting up. Overall, very happy with the picture quality, technology, you can select different backgrounds for the menus which is unnecessary but fun, and it also interacts with Alexa.

Well, I've only had this for a couple of weeks. I was hesitant to buy a TCL v. a Samsung or LG, but for the price and what this TV is, I decided to try it. So far, things seem fine. Having a tv tuner was a must have for me. Sometimes the picture is not as good on Live tv, but I'm thinking that has to do with the signal strength and/or the quality of the show. For example, older tv movies/shows seem to look like old tv movies/shows. I'd guess that's really a technology difference. When I'm watching Netflix or something like that, I don't notice any picture issues. I will say the sound probably isn't the greatest. I see some variation between shows, live tv, etc. Sometimes it's better, sometimes I have to turn it up a lot. I will add that my hearing isn't as good as it once was, so there's that. I'm purchasing a TCL Alto 8+ 2.1.2 sound bar, hoping that will alleviate any sound issues. Maybe I can update this later regarding that addition. Overall, I am happy with this TV. I guess time will tell better though.

I am very impressed with this TV. We went from a 39" to this 65", so maybe that makes everything seem like we are right there in the picture. There is no screen lag/delay and it just looks lifelike! Our viewing is approximately 10-12 feet from the TV but it is crystal clear! We don't have any side viewing so don't know if that would be an issue. The ROKU remote was a great selling point, as we use ROKU devices with our older TV's. Not having to learn a new remote was great!

This is a fantastic tv. It has great contrast ratio that displays deep blacks which is great for watching movies, especially in the dark. I have it 4 stars only because there are some problems with viewing angles especially when watching sports with a group of people. Also it doesn’t get as bright as the series 6 which doesn’t fully highlight HDR.

Compared to the 55” Vizio this replaced the difference is night and day. The colors are much more vibrant, the motion is smooth and the thin bezels look great. The roku tv integration is great, a little slower than Apple TV but the remote is so much better. The built in speakers aren’t horrible, but most people would probably still want at least a sound bar
