OLED, QLED, Neo QLED, all the different models and styles. I have been a Samsung guy for 20 years but all my reading and studies pointed me to the TCL Mini LED. AMAZING TELEVISION! We have been rewatching older movies, watching new releases. Everything looks amazing. I can't believe what I have been missing. We've had it for a month now and it amazes every day.

Dolby Atmos issue with TCL Alto 8+ Soundbar

However, after spending multiple hours attempting to get it to work over ARC with the TCL Alto 8+ soundbar (changing cables/settings/etc.), I ended up having to return it. TV was updated to latest firmware (4317) at the time of this posting. Soundbar was also running the latest firmware (NA114). It did work with an older non-Atmos-capable Samsung soundbar when stereo mode was detected as available. However, it seems like that because Atmos mode was available on the Alto 8+, audio would be transmitted in Atmos mode regardless of what the digital output setting on the TV was set to, resulting in no sound at all and no way to get it to work. Even passthrough would not work. Your mileage may vary when using this TV with an Atmos-capable sound system. For me, this TV not working with my TCL Alto 8+ over ARC was a deal breaker. Hopefully, TCL can get this resolved.

I have found an issue with the TV that I am noticing online is becoming an issue. The TV will not play live 4k, sports. Like the World Cup or College Football. From what I am gathering the processing power is not high enough to feed the live 4k. It will work for 5 minutes and then reload the feed or stop completely.

I worked with the crew for two months. Four tvs and the Geek squad her constantly. Then an amazing fella sled me to check my current and set everythin to brand new extension cords. They provided them and WOW. For some reason that worked. They were amazing and I was less then kind. The Geek squad is an amazing crew that helps morning moon and night. Thank you
