I purchased this in April of last year and the screen wasn't very uniform in darker scenes--some of the dimming zones don't seem to be as dark as the others with light blooms even on a black screen. I really wished I would have taken it back, but at this point, it's $1200 down the drain. Other than that, the TV is great.

I can't tell how the TV looks because I can't get past the Roku setup screen. The remote is SUPER laggy. Worst I ever used. Then they say they can't reach me by email. 1 hour and two different emails. Total waste of my time. Might be good TV but I'll never know. No Roku for me ever again. Opened today, returning today

Great TV At Times, But It's Not Without Headaches

I purchased the 2020 TCL 6 Series at the beginning of October. After a month of use, I feel like I can give my thoughts on the TV. Overall, I think it’s a good TV (at times it's fantastic), but there are some issues that are causing me problems. Starting with the good -- this TV works great in a bright room and it’s an awesome set for gaming. The screen’s peak brightness and reflection handling makes for a great picture even in direct sunlight. For video games, I’m very happy with the TCL’s performance. Low input lag and other features make for a really enjoyable experience. If you’re someone who is looking for a TV to simply play games, this is a good choice. Now for the bad -- TCL’s infamous panel lottery is alive and well with the new 6-series. On my unit, there is very noticeable dirty screen effect. It’s difficult to ignore while watching sports or playing open-world games. My biggest annoyance with this TV is its performance in a dark room or with content that uses dark environments (like horror movies) -- my set is laughably cloudy. The amount of clouding on my TV makes watching in a dark room near impossible. Blooming around light objects on screen is also present. I’m using the new TCL Alto 8i sound bar with this TV as well, and there’s been some issues with how these work together. I’m being helped by TCL customer support with this issue -- fingers crossed it’s more of an issue with the sound bar than TV. For specific uses, this TV could be a great fit. But if you’re looking for a TV with well-rounded performance, you may need to look elsewhere.

Overall it’s a good TV for the price and the features, you have todo some tweaking to fix the wash out look when in game mode but once you made your adjustments the pictures looks amazing. I do notice some dirty screen effect in certain shows but others I do not. One issue I do notice is the blooming when it’s a pitch black screen and the halo effect around objects that would be lovely to fix. It isn’t issue unless like I said a perfectly dark screen and a object in the middle or a few of them. CEC is a little goofy- I had a tcl alto 8i soundbar but it keep disconnecting had it running through ARC. So got a Vizio soundbar now- the Roku mute button works but not the volume up and down so I don’t know if it’s a Vizio issue or Roku/tcl Ps4 pro looks amazing on here with games like god of war, Spider-Man. Once you tweak the picture settings. Dolby vision looks good I think on dark or darker mode. Watched knives out on it, endgame, the order to name a few Back to the blooming I only noticed it really on the Star Wars title sequences ( it was horrible) but once that was over I didn’t notice it at all. Benefits of the Roku tv most of all the apps we use are on here my girlfriend likes Roku for the simplicity of it. Now this tv is 20lbs heavier than the 5 series 65 inch remember this. The mini led lights add some weight and height as well. It took two of us to carry it up three flights of stairs. I do like how the tv has all the ports on the side. This tv does have two spots for the legs so if your stand isn’t wide enough for the recommended spot you can put them in closer. Cable management is okay I like the thought! But make sure you get the thin hdmi cables. I had to zip tie them first then put them in there, they still pop out sometimes( the legs are the cable management)

Moved from a 47” I had purchased back in 2011, and all I can say is “WOW!” I’ve been looking at 4K TVs for a while, but none of them really hit that sweet spot for me when it came to price to performance and features. As I looked more into TV options, I leaned toward Vizio, however I ultimately decided against it due to this TCL model using Roku OS, QLED panel, its utilization of FALD mini LED backlighting, and a 120Hz native panel. Now, at the time of writing this review, it doesn’t support 4K120, which is fine with me, as when gaming, 1440p is the highest I’d go so as to ensure framerates stay high, expecially with demanding games like Cyberpunk. Furthermore, I wanted a larger screen I could play Overwatch (PC) or other games from the couch without giving up too much in the way of framerate, coming from a 1080p 144Hz monitor. All in all, this TV has been such a great unit, and with a bit of tinkering, the image, while already good, can be made nearly perfect. There ARE some issues that others have spoken about, such as how the TV handles text on the screen and the.l blooming that can result, but honestly... how often are you watching dark solid backgrounds with text? Even then, the blooming, while noticeable if trying to find it, isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. I currently have my Xbox One S hooked up as a 4K UHD Blu Ray player. It was sitting in a cupboard for a long time after making a full switch to PC, and with this new TV, it’s breathed a bit of life back into the console. I ran into some issues where the Xbox wouldn’t recognize the TV could display 4K content, so in order to remedy this, I had to do a few things: TV: Go to settings > Inputs > Highlight the input in question > Press “*” on the remote > Scroll to HDMI mode then select HDMI 2.0. Xbox: Settings > Make sure any settings in the overscan section are on auto > Enable/Allow all options to ensure all media can be played. These options will only be big Liu if your display supports it, so there’s no reason not to allow them all. Now, I can enjoy the splendor or 4K UHD Blu Rays in addition to the wealth of 4K streaming content. If you have any kind of NAS, Roku Media Player recognizes media specific directories and allows you to display anything from .jpg to .mkv. Synology had an app, but support/development ended at the end of 2018, and mkv isn’t supported anyway, so boo. I also love the ability to connect it to smart home assistants as well. This TV does it all, and it does it all quite well, too.

Been using for almost a year now and still looks fantastic. Spent several months researching TVs and found that TCL offers the best picture quality and feature set for the money (they now offer some of the most affordable 8k sets on the market). While the 4 Series is their most affordable and the 8 Series their "signature" line, the 6 Series is the sweet spot where value and quality meet. This set boasts deep black levels along with crisp, bright colors. Game Mode works great for gamers (I have a Xbox Series X connected and they work together to give the best picture and refresh rates available, though newer versions of this TV boast a 240 Hz rate that beats this particular model, though I can safely say I have experienced no performance issues across numerous games and genres). The Roku interface is simple yet effective. We have switched all TVs in the house over to it through the years, and the Smart TV apps available with it run the gamut from the most widespread (Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc) to more niche offerings (Pluto, Rifftrax, Shudder, and a slew of free and paid offerings where you are sure to find SOMETHING that speaks to you). While I can't speak highly enough about the TCL Roku sets, I do recommend getting a good soundbar or surround sound system to go along with it as with most TVs manufactured anymore the on board speakers do not match the quality of the screen itself.

Overall TV was a great value. I enjoy the design and look of the TV. Picture quality was better than average for this price point. The remote was terrible from day one and wound up using the phone app instead. Did notice some blooming. Unfortunately around the 8 month mark there was a screen issue which has prompted me to return the TV.

We bought this new TV sort of on an impulse. I had the annual "birthday gift" 10% off coupon that Best Buy sends out, and it was a day or two from expiring. Our TV was just about 5 years old, a very basic budget 50" Insignia model that I paid $300 for back on a Memorial Day 2016 sale. We've wanted a new TV for awhile, and after going back and forth on Vizio's P series, Sony's x900 series, and the Hisense H9G which reviewers say is the "direct competitor" for this TCL model. We ended up going with the TCL and wow we're glad we did. Pros: - HDR + 4k looks incredible - Amazingly bright - Beautiful aesthetics. The border is almost nonexistent, and where it is (on the bottom and sides), it's a beautiful faux-brushed-metal look. -We immediately loaded up some Amazon Prime shows, as Amazon offers all of their content in 4K with HDR without paying any extra money (Netflix charges you $4 extra a month for this privilege). It took a moment to buffer, but wow. Incredible deep blacks, wildly bright colors, very fast response rate. It's like I'm looking through a mirror into another world. CGI looks unbelievable, with everything being so clearly defined and easy to see. I've never owned a TV this bright and it's unbelievable what a difference it makes. This was a mega upgrade over our old Insignia, and considering we got it for around $820 delivered, we basically stole the thing! 10% birthday coupon, 5-10% off for signing up for the store card, and a $15 Elite coupon I had saved. Cons: -No Bluetooth or ability to plug headphones into the remote. While this wasn't a dealbreaker for me, I think I would've been really nice to have as I use headphones all day, especially at this price. Will try to compensate by finding a soundbar with this option. - HEAVY! OMG, I thought TVs were getting lighter and lighter every year, but nope. This is the heaviest TV I've owned since the old CRT units back in the day. You will ABSOLUTELY need 2 people to lift this thing unless you're 6'8" and totally shredded. -My main con with the TV is the built-in Roku. Personally, we use Chromecasts and Fire Sticks. I had a Roku 6-7 years ago, and at the time wasn't really a big fan. While their newer interface is very slick, the Roku resulted in a VERY long setup process that was tricky to skip. We ended up going through the whole thing, because option to skip was not clearly labeled at the beginning. While I'm glad the "smart" side of this TV is Roku (instead of something made by TCL and the CCP), it was a hassle for us more so than a help. If they're going to build-in smart devices, I would love to see variations of this TV that allow you to pick a Chromecast or Fire TV option instead of being limited to the 1 Roku option. Feedback for Best Buy: 65" is ridiculously huge. In fact, I went to pick it up and found to my dismay that it would not fit into the back of our Honda HR-V (CUV-style vehicle). Staff told me that typically TVs over 50 or 55 inches have to be hand delivered by Best Buy staff, as they typically only fit in pick up trucks and USPS/UPS won't deliver such a big item. I mention this because I think it would be nice if Best Buy gave users a warning about the size of these objects and pick up vehicle requirements before letting someone choose the option. Another piece of data that would be nice is to provide measurements of the TV in the box (versus just the dimensions of the TV unpackaged). The box was WAY bigger than I expected it to be, and was just an inch or two in all dimensions too big for our vehicle. I ended up losing several days from having to change the delivery method, and had this warning been visible I would have chosen delivery at checkout. Summary: This is my first TCL TV, and I'm beyond impressed. Unbelievable value and quality for the price, now lets just hope the reliability matches the rest of the quality of this device.

The TCL 65" Class 6-Series 4K UHD Mini-LED QLED Dolby Vision HDR Roku Smart TV has delivered a fantastic viewing experience overall. The picture quality, especially with Dolby Vision, is stunning, with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and sharp details. The Roku Smart TV platform is user-friendly and responsive, offering seamless streaming. For the first two and a half years, it performed excellently without issues. However, recently, I’ve noticed some horizontal lines appearing on the screen, which is a bit disappointing. Despite this, the TV’s overall performance, especially for the price, has been very satisfying.

Great tv for the value, it was definitely an upgrade from our 2010 Vizio panel. There are some local dimming issues particularly with white text on black background, but that was not a deal-breaker for us when buying the tv as it's not too much of a distraction. We really like the brightness of the tv and the ease of use for the Roku Tv OS. The picture quality is great and Dolby Vision content looks impressive on this panel imo. The only issue I had during setup was hooking up PS4, Xfinity cable box, and every other device as previously set up on the Vizio, into the Pioneer receiver we have. I could not get the audio to work through the receiver with the smart tv apps, with using the same configuration as the old TV setup, so I went back to BestBuy and the associate there was super helpful in showing me a digital optical cable that would resolve the issue (got home with the cable, plugged it in and turned it to that input on my receiver and wah-lah, fixed). While not perfect, I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone who may be purchasing their first 4k TV, and isn't dead set on picture quality that an OLED provides.

Coming from a 65" LGUH8500 this TV just doesn't make sense. I paid $1800 for the LG. The LG was nearly top their at the time for LG in the LED lit line of TV's. The LG had HDR, DV and was 3D. WebOS was great, we really loved the magic remote. With all those great features how can this $900 65" TV be so much BETTER! I never used the 3D function so losing that capability doesn't matter in this comparison. The TCL in every way is better than my LG. I don't know how they pack so much into this TV at this price point. The black levels are almost as good as OLED, it really is that good. Buy from Best buy now and take advantage of their generous return policy through the end of the year so you have time to use it.

This TV is great. It was super easy to set up, the picture and streaming quality is so great for the price point, and it has a nice sleek design. It's a really good option if you are in the $1000 price point and want something big that has an awesome picture quality. It was easy to pair with the sound bar we also got, made by a different company. Roku makes it easy to add different streaming services to suit your taste and customize the options displayed on the menu.

I only had this TV for a day but I was impressed.. I paid $900 for this TV and I must say it packs quite a punch. The mini led's are bright. And I mean bright.... Make sure this is for a large room. You will go blind.. Plus side to that coin, is HDR and it is amazing. Absolutely beautiful pop... And the blacks, I mean it stands tall next to the CX, with only minimal black crush. Now the bad, the screen was blotchy on a Grey screen. But hey that's the LCD lottery. On the app screen which is predominantly red, the TV shows spot of blooming. It can only do 120fps at 1440p which the ps5 does not support natively at the moment so you will be up scaling from 1080p. But all in all, you can't really match this TV at this size and price.

The tv was good while it lasted. I purchased my TV in 2021. The processor sucks so if you want to take advantage of the 4k, I suggest that you get Apple TV 4K to connect to it. The bottom row of LEDs(check photo) are starting to go out after 3 years. My 60in 4k LG from 2011 has out performed my TCL when it comes to quality. I can’t believe my 3 year old tv display is going out before my 2011 LG.

Not perfect but very good for the price point. All the technical reviews were pretty much spot on so I won't go into detail. Here are my pros and cons: I like the excellent black levels and HDR Dolby Vision. Color calibration was easy with the App. I didn't have to spend hours calibrating the color and brightness. Roku interface is good. Remote is basic and easy to use. Cons: The TV is listed as 120hz native but it is only 120hz at certain resolutions. It is listed at 1440p 120hz but I do not see this resolution listed on my display setting on my PC connected via HDMI. The set is pretty heavy. The color accuracy is very good but could be a little better. The viewing angle is not that great.

This TV is the best bang for your buck guaranteed. It can compete with TVs that cost a bunch more. And a lot of people dont talk about this but tcl has a great picture processing system and it can take bad content on youtube or wherever and make it look as good as possible. Some tv brands just dont do this as good as other's and TCL is up there with Sony when it comes to things like that. The picture and color is Amazing on this tv with the mini qled. It can get very bright as well. I did all types of research and looked at a bunch of tvs. And even though I didnt want to spend a 1000 plus dollars I did just becuase this tv is the one. I game too and it looks great. I know a bunch of you r saying well it can't game at 120 hz and truth be told its not that much different but also who knows that could be some software update down the road with tcl. TCL keeps on amazing me and it started out with me watching my friends tcl tv which is just a 4 series 65 inch, I'm normally a sony guy. But other then that the gaming experience is great!!! Great all around tv and I plan on having this tv for years to come. Thanks

I would recommend this to a friend
