Great picture for price

Great Features!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently made the decision to upgrade from a 42 to 65 inch TV and with so many models available there was a lot to consider. The TV I was replacing had a 120 hz refresh rate so since this was an upgrade it was hard to consider stepping down to a lower refresh rate. Many other models will claim a motion rate of 120 or 240 that may mislead people to believe that this is the actual refresh rate. The 65R635 had all of the features that I was looking for, plus some, without breaking the bank. The built in Roku, high refresh rate, 4 hdmi jacks with one having e ARC, Qled along with the mini led back lights were all factors. In addition to the TV I purchased the TCL TS7000 Sound Bar and with the eARC HDMI it is nice that the TV remote also controls the Sound Bar. The all-around performance and picture quality has meet all of my expectations even when viewing low resolution content on such a large TV.

And down goes...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. The picture looks very good, the tv works well with my AV equipment, and the EARC feature switches seamlessly when activated. Hoping TV holds up. 2 other expensive TVs went down after 2 and 3 years, in that order. I refuse to spend anything over a $1000.00 for a television. Truth is, a buyer is fortunate to have any of the newest, and most advanced/feature rich televisions last past their stated and dated warranties. My 1st went out a month after its 2 year warranty expired. My 2nd went out at approximately 3 years, after its 2 year warranty expired. I was fortunate to have used a card that extended its 2 year warranty to 4 years. And that's where I got lucky! Moral of the story? Buy the extended warranty(square trade/allstate) if you're going to spend more than $1000.00. It's a must! There's a reason why tv manufacturers are rarely giving more than 2 years with their sets. Those motherboards/chips are way too sensitive/fragile. Hope this helps.

TCL is reliable
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv. I had had it for a few years now and it still rivals the bigger name TVs. I have several tcls in my house and none have failed me.

Nice for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We really like the television. The picture is great. It does lose its hdcp handshake with DIRECTV using arc connection and no one can seem to solve the issue. Other than that it’s been great so far

Great buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good colors out of the box without any color calibration. My panel has very good white uniformity and very little dirty screen effect. Blacks are very good and only occasional slight blooming in some but not all dark scenes. Overall, for the price, I am very happy with the TV.

Heavy and Lazy. But stunningly beautiful
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apart from its weight and sluggish Roku platform, the visuals are stunning and the color reproduction is next level. Enjoying every bit of movies and sports in as vivid as it one can get. Thanks to the mini LED tech.

Great picture but not much else good.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of issues on both software and hardware. Apps would randomly close in middle of using them. Sound was really poor. Some of the HDMI ports were bad and would disconnect then reconnect randomly to things plugged in. Some apps like Netflix also had problems with don't vision and Atmos. I tried two different TVs and both had the same software and hardware issues. On a side note the picture is gorgeous. There's just too many problems to get the enjoyment out of it.

TCL is my go-to.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially made the mistake of going with a LG 65NANO85UNA because it dropped in price by $200 and there was a $150 pair of LG earbuds. Within a day I was ready to return it due to the blacks not being black enough and white lines seeping through on the right bottom corner. I Googled the TCL equivalent and compared the two. Low and behold, the TCL was rated higher, had a significantly better build, a way simpler remote and ultimately a better TV (for me). This is my 3rd TCL, with those being a 4 Series, 5 Series and now this 6 Series. There have been zero issues with the other sets and truly only upgraded because my buddy got a 65" and so then I needed one, wanted a better refreah rate and I'm planning on getting a new Xbox. The initial setup couldn't be easier, with linking my accounts within minutes. The metal frame is stylish and, at least to me, shows superior build quality with the screen encompassing almost the whole 65". It's been over a month and I have no complaints. Is the TCL a Samsung? No, but I wasn't going to spend over $1000, let alone $1500+. Could the blacks be darker? Sure, but then again, this TV has virtually the same specs and I'm familiar with it. I'll stick with the TCL.

Great TV that died before it’s time...

Great TV minus the remote
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had some hiccups with this TV, not a perfect picture, some weird lines upon startup, other small things. Overall, picture is really good and viewing angle is outstanding. First mini LED tv I have owned. Sometimes I wonder if the picture on the display in the store is way better than I have gotten but without being next to each other it’s impossible to tell. The remote for this TV is terrible and that’s why only 4 stars, it drains batteries in less than a day! This is a known problem apparently but TCL has not solved it yet, they say the remote just needs an update but I have done that with no change. Luckily, they have a remote that works way better on their app so I am happy with controlling my TV with my phone, much easier to type in search bars too. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

Great picture Amazing features BUT some flaws...
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It amazing....but Pros Great at the price point. Amazing picture/color depth. Cons The controller eats batteries. Replaced weekly. After a month I replaced it with a $12 TCL remote - easily purchase able remote. Not sure it's worth the effort to go through the warranty process for a replacement. Looks like it's a known issue. Occasional the TV has a dark picture. Like only the center LEDs are working. A simple power cycle fixes the issue. I have run into that a few times during the 6 months I have owned the TV.

Hi-quality picture- The black is black!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is simply excellent picture quality -black is black! Imagine a dark room with a silver candle chandelier and lit candles reflecting off the silver. No blead-over of the light into the dark background! This TV also has the Roku user interface which to me is very intuitive and easy to use. 4 HDMIs make it great for me with cable, Blu-ray, game and a laptop. I noticed some motion blur but with older movies and some streaming.

OUTSTANDING
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is OUTSTANDING. Roku is easy to use, fast and intuitive, voice command is nice. Everyone that comes by compliments the picture, asks about the brand and the price (most admit they paid more for their TV and it doesn’t look as nice). 9 months owned and no problems. My only complaint is my xfinity remote will not control the volume. Considering the price point all of my future TV purchases will be TCL 6 series.

TV great; throw away the remote.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tv is excellent. High quality picture. Sound is what you would expect from a flat screen. Nothing great, a little tinny. Soundbar has done wonders, but I do see a little lag between movie and latest movie. Major complaint - the remote is horrible. Barely works. Have to mash buttons for 5 minutes to get it to do anything. Fortunately, with Roku, I have the app on my phone which works great. No lag issues with it. Definitely recommend the tv. But throw away the remote
