P759-g1 is surely pleasant to look at. I tried the TCL 6 series and couldn't deal with the motion blur although blacks were beautiful. Tried the LG sm8600 and it was great on motion however the edgelit display cause horrible blooming. Settled for the Vizio and it's the best of both TVs into one package. OS could be a bit better imo but it's manageable... Nothing like the LG which was amazing. We've had connection issues with my surround sound system working properly. Find a solution with a universal remote.
Although I have those small gripes I still give it a 5 because the picture quality shines especially when compared to TVs that cost almost 1k more. This display is on par with Sony, Samsung... For much less. At this point I couldn't be happier.

I was very impressed at the value offered by this TV. The Roku interface is great, and the features (4K, Dolby Vision, HDR) are impressive. Especially the fact that it has local dimming. Makes for an impressive picture!

Coming from someone who spent years and year with plasmas talking about their blacks and contrast ratios and general uniformity, it took me a lot of looking around to find a 4K to replace my plasma days with. Yes, I can spend (substantially) more money and get a bit better pic quality, but in the price range, nothing touches these. If you dial in the settings (including the "secret" expert settings on the roku phone app) you can get great blacks and contrast for these. Blacks only beaten by OLED, and you have dolby vision support in addition to regular HDR10.

I've had the TV for about 2-3 weeks now. The Roku interface is awesome. This is my first smart TV so I can't compare to Samsung, LG, etc. but the interface is snappy and responsive. Every bit as good as my regular Roku be boxes. I love the guide feature for watching OTA channels. That alone is worth getting a Roku TV vs a separate Roku box if you watch OTA channels with an antenna. Also nice to not have yet another thing to plug in behind the TV. I also like the fact that, with a USB flash drive plugged into the TV, I can pause live OTA broadcasts.
Picture quality is very good. I wasn't about to drop two grand on an OLED so this seems like the next best thing. Blacks are very black. Dark scenes in movies take on new detail that was not apparent with my cheap LED TVs. Slight shadowing (vignetting) in the corners, but I rarely notice it and it doesn't bother me. Other than that, no complaints. Sound is meh, but that's that way with all flat panel TVs; it's certainly no worse than others that I have owned. I'll pick up a sound bar on sale at some point in the future.
This is the first time that I bought anything other than the cheapest TVs for the size. I was considering this or the TCL 4 Series. So far, I'm glad that I broke loose and dropped a little extra cash on something nicer. Money well spent. Also glad I didn't listen to the Best Buy sales people. Every review site has this model ranked no. 1 for budget TVs but the store staff tried to steer me to Samsung or LG. Maybe they get something extra for selling those brands, or maybe they are actually nominally better. Regardless, I'm pleased with my purchase so far.

This TV has a great picture for movies. The upscale from HD looks good and the HDR 4k (espeically Dolby cinema) looks great. For sports this TV is lacking as I find it to be blurry which may be due not great refresh rate (I am streaming using Youtube TV not using cable which could impact this). There are also dark spots in the corner of the TV, however I have not had any banding issues thus far. For the price I paid ($899) I think the TV is good value however looking back I kind of wish I paid more for an OLED.

I recently bought this 6 series to replace the 4 series I had purchased on black Friday. My reasons for this was to achieve true HDR (though both support HDR content, the 6 series has a wide color gamut while the 4 does not) as well as local dimming. It not only supports HDR but also enhanced HDR features through DOLBY VISION. It also is a major step up in terms of build quality, as the 4 series is very plastic while this has a nice metal finish.
However, ensure you do your research before purchasing this specific tv, as you will be playing what is referred to as "the panel lottery." I unfortunately did not win, as my set very much as the "dirty screen" effect, especially when bright images are on the screen, such as hockey. I was aware of this issue, and wish I had tested the TV before mounting onto the wall. I keep trying to decide if I should return the TV or not, but am worried I may end up with an even worse set, and do not want to get into a cycle of buying and returning TV's in search of one without the defect. I'm not sure exactly what to do....

TCL Roku TVs are amazing just in the fact that it takes all of five minutes to set up. If you never have had a Roku devise or TV you do have to register, but this will save your apps and autoload them to future Roku items purchased, again easy.
The picture on this set is nothing short of amazing (top rated short of oled on CNET). Turn on the Dolby digital preview app or planet Earth ii on Netflix and I promise it will wow all except the most picky videophiles (note the price tag). It obviously is not a oled set from sony or LG, but it's also not 2500-3000 dollars either.
I also own two 55 inch 4 series and I can tell you the extra money for the 6 series is worth it if you have it. Better picture, motion capabilities, and better build quality (really nice case). That's not saying the 4 series is bad, we love those TV's, but if your into sports jump for the 6 series tv.
Another note, if you look at reviews from a number of online publications, this the will outperform anything built by the big three (Sony, Samsung, lg) with 500 dollars of the asking price. Same can be said for the 4 series also.

I wanted a new 4K tv that wasn’t a cheap one cranked out for the holidays. I settled on TCL even though I’ve always had LG’s or Samsungs. It turned out to be a great decision. The picture is crisp and the ability to control most things from your phone is a welcomed feature. I’m not a huge fan of having the Roku remote as the main remote, but I mainly use my PlayStation anyways for all tv, streaming, and gaming purposes. The only down side it the amount of protective plastic they put on the back plastic … I felt like it was going to break the tv trying to remove it. Luckily I didn’t.

As an Audio/Video enthusiast I had taken note of the stellar reviews this set had received since it's introduction. As a recent retiree I'm on a fixed budget, but I have "champagne tastes on a beer budget" as they say. When my old 65" Toshiba DLP died after 12 years I decided to grab this set, especially since it was on sale for 799.99. Although the Geek Squad missed the next-day delivery as scheduled, it was delivered bright and early on the next available day. The box looked unmarked so I trusted it wasn't broken. For 19.95 they hauled away the old Toshiba for recycling.
My wife and I were able to unbox and position the TV ourselves with no problem - it only weighs a little over 50 lbs. It fired right up and connected to my wireless network with ease. The built-in Roku is easy to use. I used rtings.com recommended calibration settings for Movie. The Normal setting is great for bright daylight viewing. It's hard to find any faults in the picture quality for most of the picture mode settings out-of-the-box. I love that there are two different backlight controls to easily adjust for ambient light in the room (I don't use dynamic contrast)). 4K HDR/Dolby Vision content looks amazing! I used the built-in speakers for a day just to test, and they are not bad at all. I added a sound bar and with CEC HDMI control can power-on and adjust volume with the remote. All in all, I'm really happy with this set. I looks as good or better than my 2016 SONY 930D.

Good stuff! This thing rocks. Game of Thrones Blu-Ray to put it through the paces:
The motion rate/edge clarity works very well, I can honestly say that after very minimal adjustments, I (personally) feel like the picture I get at home matches what I saw in store. That's hard to beat. The blacks are black, and when scenes from Castle Black are in screen, the snow is blinding and the blacks have an emptiness that make you wonder what's hiding there. Now keep in mind, the shades of black are good, it's not like you lose detail, but when black pixels are commanded, this set delivers. Yes, the corners are a bit dark, but I'll take that in a budget true backlit like this vs edge lit display. I know lots of people got bad sets with spots/dark areas on a white screen, i lucked out. I would have swapped it out if I had one of those. So I would say don't chance it if your not willing to gamble with your time handling/returning a possible dud. Also, It's plenty bright for me, but if your putting this in a bright room and watch alot during the daytime, you may need a brighter set. Samsung maybe? I keep it on "Dark" always, so not a con for me at all, just an FYI. I read somewhere the lag on this screen is stupid low, (read yourself) so gaming should be great as well. Yamaha AV unit hooked up flawlessly, so no comment on internal speakers. Viewing angles work for me, not OLED, but good enough for family and friends movie night. I do hate that the power button on the set doesn't just turn it off, it pulls up a menu. If I wanted a menu, I'd hit the menu button. Whatever. Can't comment on longevity yet. Just get one IF you only have $700 for a sweet 65" TV, your probably as tight fisted with money as I am and that's why your looking at sub $900 TVs. My .02

This was purchased to replace an older TCL 65" TV that I bought a few years ago. While I liked the old one, this one is a lot better. Deeper, richer colors, and it has HDR so my Xbox One X plays better on it. The mounting holes are lower on the back than they were on my old one, so I had to lower my wall mount bracket. But that was not too difficult to do. So I am very pleased with this purchase. I really love having built-in Roku so that there's one less remote for me to lose, and the phone app is always there when I do lose it.

I’d been researching this tv since January. CR, CNET and other review sites loved it, but BB reviews had occasional nay-sayers about screen faults and quality control. I waited, and as time went on, the bad reviews dropped. I hoped that TCL had worked out whatever production problems they might have had, and ordered online on 4/21/2019. Delivered and setup by BB in 4/24. Thank god for that: way too big for me to try to do myself. Geek Squad tech was excellent. Spent maybe an hour with me -after setup- explaining everything and checking out the TV quality to his satisfaction. It looked glorious to me, but I was coming from a 10 year old 42 inch Toshiba. I trusted him when he said the set was all good. It is really a lovely picture. The 4K hdr and dolbyvision samples are stunning. CR had many sets of LG, Samsung, Sony, costing 3 times as much, rated lower in picture quality (HD, 4K, and HDR ratings) than this set. I haven’t listened to the sound. I’m using HDMI ARC into a receiver. (Note this: instructions indicate better audio decoding using ARC than using optical.)
I’ve had it only a little less than 2 weeks, so can’t speak to longevity, and I hedged my bets on quality control by purchasing the 2-year geek squad support, but I am a very happy camper.

I have several TCL TV's in my homes. I had been wanting something a little bigger than 55", and this beast caught my eye. The picture quality of movies and sports is noticeably better than the more expensive, better known brands. My X-Box One X plays the new Horizon 4 in HDR without lag and is visually stunning. Add the Roku built in and this is my favorite TV. It's not quite QLED, Magnolia level, but it's darn close at more than half off.

pros: unbelievable picture quality for the money, not prone to burn in problems associated with OLED, decent audio, Roku interface is responsive and easy to use
cons: most significant shortcoming is the screen quality suffers when viewed at even a slight angle...at 30 degrees or more, picture quality is noticeably degraded; some users report an issue with vertical banding...minimal in my case; picture quality controls and connectivity options are limited compared to other brands. rtings.com has a great in-depth review of this model.

I cannot say enough about this tv. It is absolutely stunning. I’m no expert who’s going to make a long, overly technical review. I’m just a casual tv watcher and video game player. The colors are vibrant, the HDR is unreal paired with my Xbox one x. I am truly amazed at how much tv I got for the price. Only gripe I have is that the remote has to be perfectly pointed at the right spot on the tv for the remote to work. I’ve heard that the Best Buy version is the only one that comes with this certain roku remote. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Reason why I bought this because of CNET's editior's choice. The affordable TCL 6 series has excellent overall image quality, with deep black levels, very good brightness, rich contrast and accurate color. Its Roku smart TV platform is the best available, with a simple interface and extensive streaming app support. The TV handles both HDR10 and Dolby Vision high dynamic range sources.
I am having issue problem with roku remote sometime does not work and have to straight my arm aim to TV which is pain in neck.

I purchased the TCL 65" 6 Series and am very pleased with the overall picture quality. "Yes" to banding issues, as you can see vertical lines on the screen when the screen goes fully to one color such as a fully white background of a commercial, although is not noticable while watching your favorite TV show or movie rental. The Roku interface is great, and probably one of the better and easiest available of any smart TV brands. Watching HDR 4k movies is particularly good. I would say overall this is a good TV for most.

We were in the market for a budget tv, I read all the reviews about all the other brands. When I read Rtngs, CNET and YouTube they all said the same things. This tv is better than any of the budget line tvs from Samsung, LG or Vizio. You would have to get into the midrange sets to get what the TCL has in it already. The Dolby Vision is amazing and the side angle view is awesome. Roku is so easy to use and the expert tv settings makes the picture quality rival sets that cost three times as much. Is it an OLED? No. Does it cost 4000? No. Will this set future proof you till 8k or 10k in my opinion yes. Being that it isn’t OLED you don’t have to worry about screen burn in and in my opinion OLED is going to be the plasma of yesterday. TCL offers 192 local dimming zones and I love the fact I can turn off the soap opera effect. We have a bright room and it has a little glare but is much brighter than our old plasma. Get the LG UP875 and the Vizio 2.0 36” sound bar and you’ll have a complete audio/video set up for half the price as one OLED. Outbtge door with taxes I got the 64” TVL 6 series, UP875 and the Vizio sound bar for 1390.00. Remember there is a difference between budget and cheap, TCL is a quality set.

You can't afford an OLED. Samsung is still expensive. You don't want a Westinghouse. This is your TV...and a bunch of others. You're getting a mid tier for a few hundred bucks. Local dimming, HDR, and dolby vision along with built in roku. All this would generally cost on displays double this price. Be aware, you may have to play the panel lottery.
