Great Display, horrible software

The biggest of these IMO is that if you are actually using the Google TV software built in, it will freeze the TV several times a week requiring an actual unplug of the TV to fix. This is embarrassing bad for a company like TCL to not put all of their resources into to fix. To the inevitable TCL rep that will replay to contact them via their email:. STOP WASTING YOUR TIME WITH US AND ACTUALLY SPEND A FEW HOURS USING THE TV AND SUBMIT THE ISSUES YOURSELVES. it's not hard to find, my wife complains every few hours of real use, and they are very obvious.

Multiple defective units

Returned it the next day, and the replacement I got had a cracked screen and a spot of dead pixels roughly the size of a quarter. Returned it again, this time picking up a comparable Vizio that was perfect the first try. This tv is great if you get lucky and get a good one, but you’re rolling the dice every time you pick one up.

Great tv

Dolby Vision flicker

I have contacted customer support but they couldn’t help. Everything else on the tv ran great including standard HDR 10 content. I’m hoping that it’s a defective set and I plan to exchange. I will update review if this was a fluke.

Not ready for public distribution

Only had this television for a few days and maybe watched for a total of a few hours. Watching a YouTube via the GoogleTV app native to this television, and it just shut off randomly in the middle of a video. Also, it’s challenging to integrate the cable/DVR box with the television, and does not work with my Harmony 700 remote, so have to use two remotes, fairly annoying. Last, when I contacted TCL to ask questions, they basically said that it was a new set, so they are still learning about their product… essentially they stated that by purchasing this television, I am an unpaid beta tester! Unbelievable! Also, the Best Buy website is inaccurate in the box dimensions… check TCL’s website for accurate dimensions.

Decent

Sound is OK but we're using separate speakers so don't care too much. Only issue we've been having is it is pretty laggy when switching apps. The Roku version seemed to work better.

Great TV - Siri Remote CEC Issues

However, there seem to be some CEC issues which prevent me from fully controlling the TV with my Siri Remote for the Apple TV. I can it to turn on the TV and adjust volume with the Siri Remote. However, I cannot turn it off. As you can imagine this is annoying. Tried calling customer support and they were unhelpful. Not sure if I will be returning the TV or not.
