I need Best Buy to reach out to me asap! It is absolutely ridiculous to spend this much on a product that is faulty. The TVs leg is crooked causing the whole TV to tilt forward. I now cannot use the TV I just spent so much time and money on. Though I’m sure the picture quality is good, I can’t use it because it seems like it will fall at any moment. Best But needs to right this wrong given that I bought this product this week.

I was initially pleased with the purchase of this TCL - 65" Class 6 series Mini-Led Qled 4k UHD Smart Google TV. Then approximately 6 months after purchase the screen image whited out. It looked like the brightness had been put on 100%. Tech team arrived and said they do not fix TCL tvs and would have to be returned. Brought a samsung tv to replace it.

Not working correctly out of the box. Don't they at least turn these on and test them first? Quite a few of the mini leds are broken. There are about 15 that show up as a brown patch. You can turn the tv off and on and they start appearing again. Once there, they don't go away until the tv is restarted, but they come right back randomly. This is going back.

After almost a year of ownership, here are my thoughts: * Review rating should be 4.5 as this is an amazing TV. I haven’t had a major issue during my ownership except for a few nagging problems that did not create a big headache. * The software is its biggest flaw, and almost all the problems have been borne out of the software. It feels like one more iteration of bug fixes was needed before it was rolled out to public. * The second small issue has been the remote. There is a certain gap between pushing the buttons and seeing the effects on the software. It was worse when I first bought the TV, but subsequent updates have kinda resolved the most teething problems such as freezing. * Sometimes, it resets itself out of nowhere or some app resets itself, but as I said, I haven’t missed any of my programs because of this. * Image quality is excellent. Sound is very adequate. Image modes really help switching between programs. A note: I have only used this TV via apps and Internet TV. I don’t have cable. * I think as a value product, it excels at every department.

Pros: this TV is easily competitive with OLED in terms of colors, contrast, and brightness. The thing looks incredible- local dimming is a game changer, combined with 120hz this is an actually incredible value for the price. Cons: variable refresh rate is completely broken when connected to PC, IR blaster on remote is very stubborn and I often have to push power many times to get the thing actually on, connectivity with ARC devices is a bit of a headache and doesn't work consistently. Often Chromecast will just stop working for no reason, requiring a restart. Randomly, my picture settings will default and I'll lose all the customized settings for all my inputs (I suspect this happens when the TV auto updates) In summary: TCL, get your software up to the same standards as your hardware! I wish I could recommend this, but if you're not tech savvy it can be exhausting troubleshooting all of the problems that keep coming up with this thing.

    Great PQ, Software getting better

This is a pretty great TV overall. The picture quality can be amazing, though it takes some time in the settings to get the most out of it. Black levels are great (though those who claim OLED-level blacks haven't spent much time around OLEDs...) and it gets bright enough for bright rooms. HDR movies and games look great and have the pop that you would want. Motion is great (though perhaps not amazing) for things like fast-paced games and watching sports. Speaking of gaming, this TV has all of the features that you would want like HDMI 2.1, ALLM, and VRR (Sony, PLEASE implement the latter two in the PS5 now). It can do Dolby Vision gaming on the XBox consoles at 4k/60hz, as well. The only issues with gaming are the somewhat unintuitive process for enabling ALLM/VRR and the fact that enabling VRR turns off local dimming. My unit has some bright areas on either side of the screen on a dark screen with local dimming disabled, so that is less than ideal. Sound is...ok. Perhaps a but above average, but you'd probably be a lot happier with a sound bar. So the PQ is great, but the app situation has been much maligned. I have seen two issues with my unit. The first is that the WiFi will turn off and not turn back on without a restart when the TV is left in Quick Start mode. This is remedied by disabling the feature, but you shouldn't have to. The other is issues with the Disney+ app. Dolby Vision in the app was washed out and the audio was way too low. I would normally listen to content with my sound bar set at 12-16, depending on the content. When watching on the TV app, I had to up the volume above 40 just to hear anything. That was resolved with a firmware update (that has not gone out via OTA update yet). Overall, the TV is great and at a great price. There are some software issues to consider, but it is a fully-featured TV in 2021 that won't break the bank. It is a good value premium TV in the same vein as the Hisense U8G (without the ghosting issues). It's not going to beat a LG OLED, but you get what you pay for. I'm very happy with my purchase.

First, the good: I picked up this TV along with a Samsung Q60a as they were the same price. I put them side by side and played with them for a while to decide which one I wanted to keep. I will say that this TCL 6 series had a better overall picture than the Samsung, particularly when it came to motion on the screen - less blurring and stuttering with fast camera pans, etc. Sound was quite a bit better on the TCL as well. Also, the TCL has Dolby Digital, 4 HDMI inputs as opposed to 3, and better local dimming. I also researched reliability, and Consumer Reports ranks these upper level TCL tv's right there with the top brands (Samsung, LG, Sony) of the same price point. So if you are going to spend about $1000 - $1500 on a TV, the TCL's are as good as anything else in that range. So in the end, I kept the TCL and returned the Samsung. Getting the picture to look how I wanted has taken some work, particularly the Dolby Vision HDR. But after fiddling with it for the past week, I have finally gotten the image to where I want it, and I have to say it looks great. This TV can get BRIGHT, which helps compensate for the dim look that HDR produces. I will say that I can now really tell the difference between streaming quality vs physical media quality. A standard 1080p Blu-ray disk is upscaled really well and looks like native 4k, a bit better than streaming 4k content from Netflix (though that still looks great too). I have found that if I have any issues with the quality of the images I'm seeing, it is NOT due to the TV but due to the source. TV is great. Now for the BAD: The only issues I have with this TV have to do with the software and App implementation. VUDU straight up will not play any of my movies (which is where my whole digital library is). CBS app makes this TV chug. The TV crashes on me (shuts down, must be unplugged and replugged) at least once a day. All of this is after the September software update. Volume control often has input delay from when I push the button to when the volume actually changes. Sometimes (50% of the time?) pushing the settings button while watching something forces the TV back to the home-screen, closing the app. I have contacted TCL and VUDU support about these issues and am in the process of providing them information. I'm in the holiday return window so I have until January to return this TV. If TCL can fix these issues with a software update, I will give this tv 5 STARS and would strongly recommend it. But if they don't fix it by January, I'll be returning it. For now, I CANNOT RECOMMEND this TV in its current state.

If you can get past the slow and at times clunky UI, the tv is amazing. I have the LG C2 and this tv is just as good when it come to picture quality. I also have a very bright room. The detail in the tv is on par or better than most high dollar LCD tvs. It’s blacks are BLACK and the colors are vibrant. The 120 refresh rate is smooth and makes playin my ps5 a better experience. I would 10 out of 10 recommend. If you are not looking for in depth controls when it comes to calibration, I would recommend the Roku model of this tv. Unfortunately google tv is the only set back I have ran into.

Bought this to replace an older TCL R617 Roku tv which I loved. Picture: Immediately saw an in improvement in black levels and colour saturation. HDR - both Dolby Vision and HDR10 look vibrant but still maintain those inky black levels. Black bars in most 2.35:1 content completly disappear. Blooming is hardly an issue and has only occured a few times my viewing. I also have it in a briggt living room and the tv gets plenty bright to compensate. Looks: The bezels are thin and the tv is very attractive. I have it on a tabletop. Menus: Now the not so great - the google tv interface. I loved the old Roku tv but found it became outdated and a bit slow. The goolge tv interface on this TV is very easy to use when it works. It has locked up on me a few times leaving me waiting a few seconds for it to become responsive again. App selection is very good and the menus are very intuitive. Sound: The sound from the tv is ok but i use a surround system so i never use it beside when i tested it. I have not been able to pass Dobly Atmos or any high res audio via the eARC port but 5.1 Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital plus works on a fairly regular basis. Gaming: I still use a PS4 but it looks razor sharp and colours are vibrant. Motion is better than the old tv and o havent noticed any lag in gaming. Games include Mortal Kombat, Spiderman and FIFA 22. Its not an OLED but it will be hard pressed to get this type of performance from a TV at this price point - 1199 discounted to 999. If you want the black levels close to an OLED and overall picture quality but want to save some bucks and are worried about brightness and the risk of burn in, definitely check this tv out!

Beyond amazing in so many ways. The volume is actually surreal. I can hear it out in my street when it's all the way up in my bedroom with every door closed in-between. The picture quality is absolutely incredible. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that when using the remote when moving between items or any input really, it lags a second behind. Also, the remote is super ugly like everyone says but whatever. I've never taken the time to rate a tv so that goes to show how impressed I am with this. I even saw it has an 8.5 on rtings.com which is higher than any samsung, lg or sony under $2,000 so that's what helped me make my initial decision.

Best TV I ever had. For six months.

While the review title and photo that I uploaded should speak for themselves, I have to get off my chest just how much I loathe this television. I bought it about three years ago, and from the day I unboxed it, I was completely in love. I couldn't believe that I'd gotten such an amazing panel for such a reasonable price. The Google TV interface was clean, fast, and easy to use. The sound was better than expected, although I used a home theater sound system, and the picture was phenomenal, with the biggest thing going for it being how bright it could get. This TV could get so bright that it would hurt my eyes at night when I was watching a movie with a flash of light in it. Like, it was seriously an impressive thing to witness. About six months after I bought it, though, things started to go south. I noticed a little area of discoloration in the bottom right, and tried to convince myself it was nothing, but over time, it grew and grew and grew, and as you can see in the photos taken in the last couple of months, on any dimly lit scene, or with any gray hues visible, the TV screen is covered in splotches, and it ruins whatever I'm watching. TCL was no help, because I bought this item open box from Best Buy, and although it was marked as being in excellent condition, the original warranty would not be honored. So I've been stuck with this potato now for years, trying to strategize how I will upgrade in the future, but for now, every time I watch a show on it, I'm reminded of what a terrible idea it was to buy a TCL.

its honestly an amazing tv, perfect for the price. The local dimming feature is great. the colors are vibrant and the built in OS is excellent. Its only flaw is that it cannot do 4k@120, at least in a stable manner. its something that a couple people have had happen too as well but 4k 120 cuts in and out. I settled for running the tv at 1440p 120 from my pc. AS the difference is minimal and not worth returning.

Day 5 of ownership purchased open box for less than half what I paid for my Samsung UN65JS9500 7 years ago. First thoughts: a) picture is better...blacks definitely blacker...even though both sets have local dimming which was brand new tech 7 years ago b) absolute brightness of the screen much better...during the day my viewing area is bright but this set is up to the challenge. c) OTA tuner is much more sensitive...I get three times the number of OTA channels compared to the Sammie d) one of the things driving this upgrade is my switch from DirecTV to streaming...the apps here are GREAT for that. As to concerns over app stability mine have worked fine so far. I have had 3 TV crashes (requiring plug pull to reset) but all on OTA tv...none while streaming. The only app problem I have noticed is when streaming from HBO Max...Dolby Vision causes visible brightness fluctuations (flickering) on IQ and Bright settings ..reducing the screen luminence helps but does not eliminate this. DV when streaming from Netflix does NOT have this problem. Seems app specific. Lastly ANALOG INPUTS for old school tech of which I have quite a bit. VCR's...yes VCR's still work here. And the conversion to digital is quite good. Much better than with the lame external converter boxes I have tried. Not many DTVs come with those anymore...in fact I thought I would have to keep the Sammie forever because it had them. Thank you TCL! PS...the breakout cable is NOT included...others may work but the red, white, yellow coding may be off...my video cable (not TCL) has to connect video to red not yellow) and another cable I had didn't work at all. Or you can pay $20+ for the TCL branded cable. So far this has been a good experience...no bad pixels on the panel or massive crashing of the TV as others have had. Firmware is up to date without issue so far. Significant improvement on my Samsung set from 7 years ago without the similarly massive price. Using with Sammie HW-N950 soundbar...works fine after I figured out how to turn on CEC over HDMI...hint: it's in the INPUT menu not the system menu. Dolby Atmos passes down the enhanced ARC from the apps just fine. Dolby Vision on the set noticeably improves HDR from my previous HDR but non-DV set. I'll amend if anything changes. Hopefully it won't!

The TCL 65" Class 6-Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV is a fantastic option for anyone in the market for a new TV. The picture quality is outstanding, with deep blacks and vibrant colors that really make the image pop. The Mini-LED technology used in this TV provides a great level of backlighting control, which helps to further enhance the overall viewing experience. The 4K resolution is also very impressive, providing a level of detail that is truly breathtaking. The Smart Google TV platform is also very user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it easy to find and watch your favorite content. The TV is also built with high-quality materials and feels very solid and durable. Overall, I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a high-quality, feature-packed TV at a very reasonable price.
