Television
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very crisp and clear picture. I picked this television up on sale and it is a great television for the Price. Not quite as vivid as the OLED but it’s not supposed to be or advertised to be. I’m not sure it would be worth the normal price of 1999.99, but at $1000 off it was a steal. The only problem was the first television has a pixel out. Best Buy was great though and picked up and replaced the television in less then a week. I would recommend this television.

INCREDIBLE TV FOR INCREDIBLE SALE PRICE!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love at 1st sight when I saw this TV highlighted at the 2019 International CES before it could be purchased. Once released, $2000 very competive price, $1599 on sale more entising. Then recently a $1000 on sale, amazing deal = SOLD! I'm awestruck with how clear and vivid the picture is, and built in Roku is fantastic, etcetera, fabulous TV! Thank you Best Buy and TCL, couldnt be more pleased with purchase!

Stunning picture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an early TCL 55” Roku TV that was beginning to have some issues and replaced it with the 65” 8 series. The Roku system is still the best. The picture is fantastic. As my wife said, it was an adjustment to get used to it because it was more like looking through a window than watching a tv. The center stand is a big improvement over the old legs-by-the-ends stand. I downloaded the iPQ Calibration app but unfortunately was unable to get that to work correctly. Overall great value.

great TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great TV. I would have given it a five but I bought and paid for one online and the store did not have it when I tried to to pick it up. I bought the same model as an open box, but had to return it because the picture had shadows. I had to end up buying the series 6 model because the series 8 has now been discontinued. My experience at Best Buy on this purchase was a Cluster. This is not my typical experience at bust buy.

TCL Still Plagued with Quality Control Issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was never going to buy a TCL TV for $2,000. But, when Best Buy was having a Memorial Day sale on the unit for 50% off, I jumped at the chance to own the first state-side mini-LED 4K TV, understanding two things: 1) TCL's history of poor quality control, and 2) a first year production run of a new product technology. However, TCL's brilliant 6-series gave me a little bit of confidence. And the deal was great! When I brought home the TV, the local dimming in real viewing is amazing, at first. Deep blacks juxtaposed bright brights. Your eyes are instantly fooled. But then after a week of watching various content, once you see the artifacts, you can't unsee it. TCL has updated, and updated their firmware. And while they've improved the black crush found on initial iterations, they didn't solve it. It still crushes. The TCL's handling of dark gradient is still bad. Banding in dark skies, or scenes that grade from dark to light show discernible banding. Then there's the color. It's never spot on. It's either too saturated, too washed out, and a lot of that is just how the set follows the brightness curve, as it amps up bright scenes. There's something wrong with how the TV wants to display content that's just not right. Other than that, my first set had, in my opinion, for a 21st century product, too many defects. My first panel had 5 dead or stuck pixels, clustered right in the middle of the panel. Both my other TV have none. In my opinion this is unacceptable these days. In addition, there was terrible DSE (dirty screen effect). Vignetting as well as a black splosh in near the center of the panel. These were all set easily with a grey uniformity test pattern. So I returned that unit, desperately hoping for a better display, because surely, TCL is playing in the big leagues now. My second unit has a exponentially cleaner panel. Virtually no DSE. Imagine my excitement! But from about 2 feet from the screen, there it was. Smack dab in the middle... A dead pixel. But not one. I would've kept it with just one, even though it would've irked me, because this is one of the heaviest 65" TV I've had to lift. No, not 1. Not 2. Not even 5. 12. Twelve dead or stuck pixels. Still short of TCL's "acceptable" limit for a 4K display of 16, but c'mon. How is this okay with TV technology where it is today and manufacturing? Sorry, but I couldn't take a risk on a third. Even at 50% off, I couldn't convince myself that this wasn't going to be a sign of panel quality and a TV that deteriorates over time. Again, my other two are flawless, and came that way. Lucked out twice? Or, maybe that's how it should be. I guess if you're not picky and can grab this at $1,000, go ahead. But for me, that's a lot of cash for a defective product. For $500, sure. But this is supposed to be TCLs flagship. Sorry, not good enough.

If you can buy it still, don't pass it up!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV for $1200 all in. Best sound on a stock TV ever and even better picture. Since I don't care about PS5, don't mind not having HDMI 2.1. This TV works well for my minimal PS4 gaming. Movies and TV shows on HBOMax , Netflix and Disney plus look amazing. Checked the price daily and when it dropped back down to $1125 I purchased and glad I did, as it sold out 5 days later! TCL is America's fast growing TV brand for a reason!

Very Good Set
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m an OLED man at heart. But this mini-LED is terrific. You have to go into the expert settings on your phone to adjust the gamma to get rid of most of the black crush, but after that, the picture quality is great. Very bright HDR image without the light bleed and blooming into the letterbox bars that all conventional LCDs have.

Great TV at a great price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At $999 this is by far one of the best televisions that exist, for visual and sound quality. Had used a ZVOX soundbase with my prior 65" 4K UHD TV (a different brand). Unnecessary with the TCL Class 8. Being a "Smart TV" with Roku built in, takes an extra step to connect our Verizon FiOS set-top box to the TV. Yet that's no different than connecting our Samsung Blu-Ray, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV Cube devices as well. (Don't ask)

Best tv I have ever owned!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The colors on this tv are simply amazing! I use rtings.com to help me with the settings and the tv puts out great color in my very bright living room (two skylights). The picture is crisp and clear. I own a TCL 6 series, as well and the 8 series is even nicer. BestBuy had a great discount and delivered it very quickly and in accordance with all covid 19 safety requirements. Can't be happier with the overall experience and amazing tv.
