This is one amazing tv
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome tv. For the price, it's unbelievable. This tv has hdr and is QHD so the picture is crisp. Blacks are very dark, and colors accurate. Come with Roku installed too!

Excellent quality for high end TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BestBuy ordering and shipping to house met expectations. Since we did unpacking and hookup, did not realize how heavy this TV is, Would recommend professional installation if you do not have two strong people in household. Most reviews of TCL 65- Series 8 matched experience we received. Did not realize their are some limitations w/ using web via TV with this model as Roku feature not android based. Hopefully, ROKU will reach agreement with Peacock and other providers to add to lineup.

Great tv easy to set up
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice tv easy to set up highly recommend having Best Buy set it up I initially set mine up but tv was damaged the store said screen was squeezed to hard when setting up and that there was internal damage. Had to beg them take it back because they claimed I damaged it. They did take it back but not right away. I did not damage tv. And would have never bought anything there ever again had they not taken it back. Great tv at reasonable price

Nice TV worth $1k but no more. Poor local dimming
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice tv for the $1000 that I paid for it. Picture quality is great as long as you don't compare it to an OLED. I was OK with this TV up until I purchased a 48" Oled for the bedroom. After watching the OLED it takes a while to get used to the TCL's picture. After about 10 mins I don't mind the reduced quality when compared to OLED. Where this TV is lacking is dark scenes and local dimming. Find the video "Local Dimming Test" on youtube. When you watch the vid on the TCL tv you seen serious blooming and darker spots in the white box/balls that they have going across the screen. It effects picture quality but I have yet to identify what scenes without doing a direct comparison which I don't really have time for. This TV is a Micro-LED TV that supposed to get close to OLED in black levels. I'm here to tell you that it doesn't even come anywhere close, any competing regular OLED TV is just as good in regards to the blacks. The Dimming test mentioned in the last paragraph has a white dot or square with a black background. While watching the vid the black areas weren't completely black. You can still tell that light was being emitted from the black areas. The same way you would a regular LED TV. Same vid on the OLED and the Black area is completely black. The local dimming is really poor on the TV. For the $1000 I spent on the TV it is worth it. There are still a TV that I would pick over the TCL in it's price range but that TV was not available it was sold out. If you are expecting this TV to resemble an OLED (or even come close) you will be disappointed.

OMG! Best TV Ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love love love this TV. This tv has great picture..great sound! With all the free apps available, it made it easy to cut the cord from cable. I have sooooo many free channels, it's just not enough time in the day to watch all of the excellent free channels that I've downloaded. Not all the apps are free but that's ok too. The tv does have bugs though. The bugs can be corrected though by unplugging the tv and restarting like most smart devices. I got this tv on a best buy deal over a year ago for $999 and it's the best tv ever!

Gets the job done
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for my wife in the living room which is very bright. Cant beat the price. Its not a oled, so don't expect that quality, but for what it is it is excellent.

Fantastic TV, of you get it on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture quality over you disable all motion interpolation settings, set the FALD setting to high as the lower setting do mostly nothing, and update the TV software. Roku os is extremely easy to navigate, all my apps in one place without relying on a separate streaming box. Works perfectly with a Sonos beam soundbar and two play 1 surrounds. For gaming, it is absolutely necessary to enable game mode, otherwise the input lag is quite noticable. Get it on sale, it is not worth the $1800+ MSRP, when there are competing units from LG and Sony for nearly the same price. I got mine for $999.

Great Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this has been a great TV. We own a few TCL TVs and they have all performed like a high end tv, minus the cost. The built-in Roku is a must have.

Tv picture so beautiful brings tears to my eyes
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait a few months before leaving a review to truly test out the product. Pros Screen picture is beautiful. I have only had one other high resolution tv similar to this made by LG and the picture on this is noticeably better. Cons - Sound is terrible I mean needed to get a sound bar terrible. - i had one glitch since I bought the sound wouldn't work. Obviously not a issue now that I have a soundbar but i didn't when it happened and why should my TV volume not work after only the first month.

Love my new TCL
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to upgrade from a 6 year old Samsung so I could have latest technology in my home... All I can say is WOW! Glad I did my research and picked this TV. The picture, style and build are fabulous. A lot of settings to be able to tweak to one’s liking. One thing I wasn’t expecting (but appreciate) is that all settings can be adjusted PER INPUT .... which is important so you can adapt the system to fully enjoy each type of device you have attached. No compromising needed. Don’t even have my sound system connected yet. Then I’ll have to give it a double wow!

It's Bright, Roku is great...get the geek squad ex
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale for 999. It's bright as the sun, we keep the setting on Dark. Dark scenes aren't great....good bit of pixelation. Love the built in Roku, but the software is buggy. Occasionally the sound will bug out and either blast, or be silent and tinny. Also, sometimes Dolby Atmos programs won't work. So far rebooting the system corrects these issues, but I'm glad I bought the geek squad extended, because I'm just waiting for the hard fail.

Great TV for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Incredibly bright panel. Picture quality is excellent. You will have to enable game mode on any input a game counsel is attached to otherwise there is too much input lag for a game to be playable. Once game mode is enabled it works perfectly. The speakers aren't bad for TV speakers. The built in roku is better than just about any other smart TV interface. All in all a great TV if you can get it on sale.
