I bought the NXTFrame Tv to replace my TCL 5 series in my dinning room area. I can tell you it a major difference. The biggest thing is the matte anti glare screen, it helps so much with the lights from the kitchen and the sliding glass window. The clooest part it the AI art in my opinion, played with it for a while. Aesthetically speaking in the TV is super thin and coming with that no gap warm my pinky can’t even fit behind it. Overall, I can say its the nicest lifestyle TVs I’ve ever seen. And just perfect for me!

Mounted it on a column. Not exactly the “Frame” TV that I thought I ordered. It has screen savers that are pretty. But it does not really look like artwork on the wall. But it works just fine and has fantastic resolution and connectivity.

A World Class Art Gallery in Your ROOM!

Spouse I and bought our new home three years ago and both did not want a TV in the master bedroom. Three years later still looking for just the right piece of art to place on a big bedroom wall…We just could not commit to a color palette or concept for the piece for that wall…so it sat blank and boring UNTIL NOW! The TCL NXTFRAME TV 65” has met and exceeded our expectations! With its 4K QLED and what they call “Ultra Matte Anti Glare Screen” really transforms this from being a generic boring TV on a wall to a front row seat to a world-class ART GALLERY IN YOUR ROOM!!! Two of the main factors that make this work as a piece of art rather than just a boring tv on a wall is the non-glare matte look to the art when displayed and the ultra-thin flush wall mount. My sister-in-law came over to look at a dresser in our master bedroom and asked, “Is that a TV” and “It doesn’t look like a TV” …EXACTLY. The screen looks more like canvas than screen but when its in TV mode…Looks incredible there too!! The flush wall mount and thin screen makes it look exactly like a picture frame…to the T. One complaint I have it that TCL needs to find better drywall anchors for the mounting screws. The mounting screws are large but after installing the drywall anchors into the drywall (because there was no stud there) when I screwed the screws in they spun the drywall anchors and they punched threw the wall making them useless as a means to support the TV. I almost really screwed myself on the setup due poor drywall anchors they provided. I would highly recommend hiring a professional or the Geek squad for the install. To be fair, it’s not hard to set up, they provide a simple and useful template and all the hardware which is pretty straightforward forward but if the TV is not perfectly leveled or you end up punching a bunch of holes in your wall and the tv is not secured properly … spending the little extra money on a set up would be worth it. Also the wires really need to be dropped behind the drywall for the picture frame illusion to be complete. We did not want to have a shelf or bench underneath it…we wanted a clean wall-hung art piece. So I dropped the power cable down the wall and got a brush plate and ran the power out the bottom of the wall (See pics) and it worked out fabulously. Back to the wall mounting brackets, They are well designed in and of themselves and they have plenty of options to find a stud and use one its preexisting holes to at least try to hit one stud on the left or the right of the unit. I upgraded to better drywall anchors and got the TV nice and level and secure. Once it’s flush…It is flush!! NOTE: Be sure to plug any peripherals in at the time of hanging…once it is on the wall …there is no way to easily access the ports. I kind of wish they would have had a secret side USB port for a USB drive full of pics to easily be added but there is not. TCL has an app that will allow you to upload pics but I found that it was a little clunky and that the pics from my iPhone 16 pro max would import upside down and I could not find a way to flip them on the TV. You have to edit them in your photos and then upload. BUT I wont be running my pics on that TV…ART baby ART!!! So overall I was frustrated a bit with the drywall anchors they chose but the brackets and instructions are simple and the TV mounts securely. THE ART – Joaquin Sorolla – Women Walk on The Beach 1904, The QLED screen and matte antiglare tech really allow you to see how Sorolla uses the light to create such movement and emotion in the work. Johannes Vermeer’s – Girl with Pearl Earring 1665…JUST absolutely mesmerizing. The oil on canvas comes to life in my bedroom and she is there in the room. I love how it doesn’t matter if my bedroom window is open and it’s bright and sunny outside or all the lights are on or if it’s bedtime and the low light of bedside lamps are a glow ….The painting on the wall is constant and perfectly lit. It’s like when you go to the museums and they are perfectly lit…Somehow TCL was able to mimic that very convincingly. From any angle … the image is true to form. IT REALLY FEELS LIKE A PAINTING! My wife and I sat there and just went through the masterpieces as if we owned them and they were in our bedroom…Magical. Monsnier, Manet… all come to life! They also have different galleries and a cool clock feature which are a lot of fun and some animated art with ambient sound. We did not want to have to settle for one piece hanging on our bedroom wall for years NOW EVERY DAY is a new and colorful adventure. As a TV… It’s Awesome, Now the speakers suck due to the small footprint of the unit which is to be expected. They are good enough though to utilize them sans a better sound system to watch the nightly news or a show occasionally but an upgraded sound system for movies would be a must. BUT HERE”S SOMETHING COOL… you can connect to any Bluetooth device…so for example, I took our really nice Bluetooth speaker and brought it into the bedroom and synced it and boom…really decent sound for most use cases… and when I’s done back in the closet for the speaker and the TCL stays clean and picturesque. You can also sync headphones like airpods or Bose and not disturb your partner while watching tv!!! With Youtube tv and Google and Spotify… music and videos and podcasts are all there as well. I also like just how easy this is to use. The remote has a 1 touch art mode. Hit the one button and it’s a picture frame instantly. The app is good ( a little quirky) but good. NOTE- also be sure to hang it at the right height. Not too high not too low…Look at pictures of art museums to get a feel for the height you want. The CONS – better drywall anchors for sure. I also wish they would have another darker framed option instead of the light-colored magnetic frame it comes with. Since the frame is magnetic is very easy to put in and take off. They need to add a dark brown, black or silver option. No hidden side-accessible USB port for easy pic uploads. Speakers are minimally acceptable. The PROS – AMAZING picture quality and art selection! Really outstanding TV. Flush wall mounting looks amazing, with No glare. The perfect substitution for boring and permanent wall art in a room. Simple to use. I love this NXTFRAME…the name fits it…it’s really where home artwork is headed! Perfect for any room that you don’t want to have a big old ugly TV hanging! Also would be great for Dr. offices or conference rooms! Solid 5 Star!

Art and Tech have successfully merged on this TV

I have owned several smart TVs including Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, but this is my first Google TV, and the first with this “Art Mode” Concept. TCL is a brand with many years in the market making Smart TV’s for quiet a long time, it is more affordable if we compare it to the more expensive and traditional brands, but that doesn’t mean that it lacks high quality and “smart” technology which I was able to experience in this NXTFRAME model. The idea behind this design is that the TV emulates an art picture and integrates it in your living room as part of the furniture on your wall, which makes it an excellent fit for almost any single living room. The artistic style, anti-reflective finish screen, makes it look like an artistic paint hanging on your wall, and the image looks matte. The result is a very pleasant art image. My daughter is an Art Lover. Every time we’ve traveled, she spends time in museums and buying picture replicas or taking photos of the renowned painters. And at the end it has been always a dilemma were to put all those souvenirs and pictures she bought. So, as you can see, this TV fit perfectly for that purpose. Its gallery collection includes a curated Art Library, with a personal photo gallery mode, so you can put your own artwork. Six features that I really like about this TV. First, it is very thin, 1.1in only. It has wonderful, neat, deep and vibrant colors and brightness. Even during daylight, because of its Matte Antiglare screen design. Great sound, with or without soundbar. Super-fast response while navigating through the apps, no lags or delays. It has all the ports and inputs integrated in the TV, and everything I was needing to replace my Sony Bravia, the Power supply is also integrated. It even includes a 3.5mm headphone jack (useful for me because I have a Sony subwoofer that uses that port and the USB for power). Let’s talk about the ports. All of them are integrated in the TV. Four HDMI ports (Ports 1 and 2 4k 144Hz, one for ARC, and the second you can use for service as well, Ports 3 and 4 4k 60Hz). I am using the Port one ARC to connect my Sony Soundbar which works flawlessly, turning on and off every time I turn on or power off the TV. Port HDMI 2 for the Blu Ray, however I am still deciding which one to connect either my Sony Blu Ray or the gaming console. I am using the Soundbar HDMI ports as the interface for now for gaming. On both situations the video response and performance are neat. Lan port for wired network connectivity, which I prefer to use, since I have located the router close to the TV, and this way, it will ensure a steady and better network connectivity. A Cable/Antenna port, this is nice to have. I set up years ago a Physical antenna on my roof with a signal booster, and I can capture more than 60 aired digital local channels. An AV In port, an Audio Optical out, which for me in some cases is very useful to have, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and finally 2 USB ports, 3.0 and 2.0. These ones allow me to connect my usb drives to play either mp4 movies, mp3 audio format, jpg, etc, or upload pictures to the TV for my Gallery collection (you will also need to create a TCL account to upload to the Gallery Collection). The MP4 videos plays great, with excellent video resolution, making watching movies or appreciating the included art collection a pleasant experience I strongly recommend, if you are planning to use the USB port for storage access, like videos, audio or pictures, you install an USB extender, so can access easily the port. Once the TV is seated on the wall it is very hard to reach the ports. I also learned that if you can install a USB Camera as long as it is a TCL TV and has the Android TV or Google TV, if you get the TCL TV Camera, you can use the TCL TV for video calls, take selfies, and upload them in the gallery. I was able to see that the setup includes the setting for external camera and mic, and in the Gallery has the “take a photo” option. I don’t know if the gesture function is included but the other features are available in the settings, so that will be my next step. For the wall installation, it requires 2 people to lift the TV, because even though it’s very thin, it is heavy. The installation comes with a proprietary wall mount. It does not include the TV Legs Stands, which are sold separately by TCL. Both options are not VESA industry standard, so if you already have a standard TV wall mount on your wall, it is not going work for this TV, but it is not difficult to figure it out or to make some adaptations, from what I can see. The wall mount HW was not difficult to install. At the beginning it was kind of tricky for me because, basically the TV will be hanging only by 2 points, like if it was a big picture frame on the wall, however it seems very reliable and secure. For the job, it comes with 4 metal plates, 2 for the wall, and the other 2 for the TV that has the hooks. It also comes with a paper template to put on the wall which will guide you on where to put the marks for the holes. What it is included with the TV: • Manuals • Remote • 2x AAA batteries • Power cable • Wall-mount equipment (brackets, screws, and anchors) • Frame segments that replicate light wood magnetic frame that attaches to the borders Before you start, make sure to locate all the cables either behind the wall or hiding them by using a wall cord cover cable raceway, and carefully place them in the order where each one will be located at the back of the TV, there you will see dividers for cable organization. Installation was easy, all the HW needed was included. Once the TV is mounted you want to make sure it is completed “seated” on the wall. Once its installed on the wall it looks really nice, and then you will add the magnetic frame. For the frame that goes at the bottom, it comes with a couple of small screws that you will attach to the frame, but don’t tighten them too hard. I think they are just there to prevent the frame from falling off. If you tighten them hard it will bend the frame a little. Actually, the frames don’t hold enough in case you move or bump the TV, which I am not planning to do. This detachable frame can also be replaced by a different one like a bigger frame style, if you prefer your TV to have a more picture frame resemblance. The start up process was fast and easy, around 5 minutes, if you already have a Gmail account, then just continue with all the regular questions, wifi settings, permissions etc. There's a single button on the bottom left of the TV that can be used to switch inputs, adjust the volume, change channels, and power the TV on/off. The remote is very intuitive, and easy to use. The location of the buttons is well organized. It has preset buttons to access Netflix and YouTube. You have also the mic function for the hands-free voice control, so you can search by vocal commands videos or TV or movie programs, or you can integrate it with you google home app. On the right side are located the volume and mute buttons, and on the top left the button to access the Artwork collection. Once you press it you will access the ART section which is the main concept of this NXFRAME TV. There are 374 art collections and all of them for free. You will see at the bottom 5 different categories, starting by the first one on the down left, will randomly changing pictures every x amount of time that you can also set. The one that I liked the most is the museum setting, which will show you pictures of the famous artist, wonderful colors and resolution, it really makes it feel like an artwork painting it on your wall. The “Masterpieces alive” is a set of videos of the greatest artist in movement, great idea. It also plays music related to the theme that the painting is displaying if you press the center button of your remote. You can also include a frame style if you prefer to have a more like art paint style. Other option is the “AI Art”, where you can create your own paints based on some preset’s landscapes, with the style of the artist you choose. The “Relax” setting is wonderful, with images moving and music in the background. The last setting “Moments” allows you to upload your pics to the TV and create your own selection, but you will need to create an TCL account as well. On the top right you have the Art Mode Settings so you can change the Theme, time interval, etc. This TCL TV is compatible to play all the formats available on the market, HDR content, Dolby vision, HLG, etc, and at 4K resolution. For gaming it reaches a variable refresh rate of 144Hz. The included Google TV app capability allows to google cast. One of the many advantages of having a google TV feature, and the TCL TV is that you can watch many programs for free. Two things that I didn’t like with my previous TV. I had some kind of resolution issues, while streaming, specially on Disney+, the contrast and brightness slightly changes, but it only showed up on streaming, not while playing an mp4 file or DVD. At the beginning I thought that maybe I needed to increase my internet bandwidth. However, that didn’t fix the issue. I also contacted the TV brand support but couldn’t find what was the issue. But with the TCL TV I don’t have that issue anymore. The next improvement is the audio. I noticed a better separation of the channels. I have a 7.1 Soundbar, and the Satellites delivers more powerful, defined, and neat sound, comparing to my previous TV. It doesn’t matter if you watch air broadcast programs via Antenna, or play DVD/Blu Rays Videos, MP4, Streaming, the video resolution is great. Obviously, you want to use the best HDMI cables quality to guarantee the best video performance. Overall, this TV has all the features I need, great performance, excellent video, Inputs, plus the ART capabilities that has AI incorporated. I am very happy and pleased with the visual result by having this TV in my living room.

I think trying to compare TV's these days to decide which one to get is getting pretty difficult. You used to be able to look at them side by side and typically could see some clearly looked better than others. But those lines have been blurred. To the average person, most of them all look great. So for the most part, the decision comes down to performance and features.  The picture quality on this TCL NXTFRAME TV is great. As I mentioned, most do now, but when you get down to the details there are a few things that set some apart from others. PICTURE COLOR: The colors really do pop. They are vivid and bright enough that you can really enjoy the picture quality. As with any TV, calibrating the settings to your viewing environment is going to be important to get the best looking picture *to you*. Everyone sees things a little different so fine tuning it to what you think looks best will make you enjoy it more. But out of the box, it looks great and most people will be happy with it as is. BLACK LEVELS: This is one area where some TV's stand apart from others. I won't get into the details of why, but while the QLED technology used on this one gives you great color, it also keeps the blacks from being truly black. I'm not saying it's terrible, but you just aren't going to get the truly "ink black" you get with OLED or even some other TV's.  MOTION: This is one of the TV's stronger features. It supports high refresh rates at high resolution. So watching sports and gaming is where this TV shines. Motion is nice and smooth and makes watching sports and gaming more enjoyable and easier to watch. The native refresh rates along with the additional settings to adjust motion make this TV perform better than others. SCREEN: The matte screen on the TV makes you think it's not going to get very dark or be very bright, but it doesn't affect the picture really, just reduces glare from reflections. While it certainly could be brighter and darker, that's not due to the matte screen but the LED's that light it. The screen does however help with the next feature. A PICTURE FRAME The main "attraction" of this TV is the "picture frame" aspect of it. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well this actually works. To start, the TV is pretty slim - around 1" deep. So it definitely can look like a picture frame mounted on the wall. This is also due to the fact that the TV mounts flush with the wall  The included mounting brackets (yes, you don't have to buy a separate bracket) allow the TV to easily mount so that the top and bottom are pretty much flush with the wall, meaning there's no tilt downward as you get with a lot of other frames, nor does it stick out from the wall due to the mount. And the way the mount is designed is essentially like a hinge, meaning it's easy to get it mounted, and once it is, you can easily swing out the bottom of the TV to access your ports, all of which are on the back facing downward. It really is a great design that includes all the connections within the TV itself, but still keeps it slim and flush mounting. It has a nice off white frame around it, but also comes with a light colored wood-like frame that attaches to each side magnetically so you have a couple of options for the frame. And with the matte screen, once you put an image on it that you want to display and adjust the brightness of the screen, you really can pass it off as a piece of art. And the included Art Library has plenty of options to choose from for what you want to display, from classic artwork, to photos, digital art, and even AI generated images. There's also a section called "Relax" that has some images with motion (i.e. a beach with waves rolling in) that also have ambient sound you can turn on or off to create a relaxing environment (you can also turn on these sounds on the other images as well). GAMING While this TV has the capability for higher refresh rates that are supposed to provide a smoother gaming experience, so do lots of TV's these days. So it doesn't really stand out in that aspect, rather it fits in with the "norm". The higher and variable refresh rate is nice to have but it's nothing mind blowing. Really as far as motion goes, the biggest area I noticed a difference is with watching TV or movies. It's almost like the motion settings being cranked up get it to where it should be at normal settings. There's no "soap opera effect" with them cranked, but turning them off makes some things unwatchable. Overall I think this is a decent mid-range TV. I would say unless you really want super dark blacks and a really bright image, this is a nice TV for a Family room because it looks nice on the wall and it does have a good picture quality for that type of environment. While the matte finish of the screen is also nice for bright environments, the TV just doesn't get bright enough to overcome the fact that a matte finish already "appears" to not be as bright as non-matte screens. So if those things that you would be concerned about, then you can certainly get darker/brighter Tv's for the money. If not, and you just want a nice looking TV to hang on your wall you'll be happy with this one.

This is a long time coming considering that my older tv was becoming outdated. Getting the tv out the box was made easy. After cutting the plastic ties, the box was removed by pulling up. To mount the tv, everything was included. The mounting hardware, anchors, template and mount was all in the package. Consider the height of the tv because I was told it probably should have been mounted at lower height. I took more time installing the NXTFRAME tv because I wanted to conceal the wires behind the wall. I installed a media box for with a surge protector and a low voltage access. The difficult part was getting the wires behind the studs. I also did a shopping trip to get longer hdmi cables because all of mine are 6 feet. With the manual was instructions on how to mount the tv. I think they should have used a bigger font. The instructions were helpful in the process. I was thinking of using toggle bolts but I did not want to mess up the manufacturer installation guide. When hanging the tv you will need an extra hand for connecting the up to 4 hdmi cables, power supply and Ethernet cable. The tv weighs about 50 pounds so it can be useful to have a 3rd person. After hanging the tv to the wall for me it is not flushed to the wall. I was expecting it to be closer to touching the wall but it could be because of the thickness of my cables behind the tv. I think it still looks good though and I could always adjust the cables. This is my first Google TV and the on screen setup was so easy. It walks you through the process and you can fine tune it to your personal preferences later. The picture quality is really good. I immediately noticed a difference between the TCL NXTFRAME and other tv. The color appears more vibrant compared to what I was using. The refresh rate is 120hz and that is double of my older tv. I’m not experiencing any motion lag since it’s noticeable for movies, gaming and watching sports. The art display feature is impressive because it displays art or personal when you push the button on the remote. The sound of the tv speakers are decent enough without a surround sound system but I already have one so I’m using it with the NXTFRAME. Overall navigating through the different features and settings are very easy. The remote control is going to take time to get used to but it’s sleek and simple. Under the bottom left side of the tv, there is a small speaker box. It can be pushed in or out, I can’t figure out what it does and nothing on the manual. My high points for this TCL NXTFRAME tv are: 1. The picture quality is great and pleasing to watch 2. The feel of the material feels like a durable build 3. It includes HomeKit, Google home, Alexa, Cast, Airplay 2 and more 4. All top streaming apps are available to download or already preloaded 5. Having the tv display art when I want My low points for this TCL NXTFRAME tv are: 1. It does not include a stand for the option of not mounting but I think that’s a future possibility. 2. I was expecting it to be lighter in weight You will definitely get a good deal if you get tcl NXTFRAME at this current price. I feel like it’s packed with features and upgrades that will make it a necessity in any room. Great tv but I should have went with a bigger size.

It’s a beautiful tv. Unfortunately we set the tv up and found the sound just doesn’t work. We will be returning and hopefully getting a new one.
