After reading reviews on Best Buy, CNet, and watching You Tube reviews, the conclusion was that this TV was the best one in it's price range. Definitely the brightest picture I've seen. You will have to make some adjustments from the out of the box settings for the best picture quality, but those are easy to find online or on You Tube. Only negative for TV nerds is there is some slight video tearing if the camera pans too quickly on the show you are watching. Not a deal breaker at all. Doesn't happen very often, but it is there. Beware if you are mounting this TV and running the power cord thru the wall, the cord is only 6 feet and the female head of the cord is not industry standard. I had to get an extension cord to have enough length to complete the run.

Amazing TV. The picture is stunning, color and black levels are spot on. The Google operating system is fast and easy to use. Great TV for bright rooms with lots of windows.

This TV has deep blacks, great color, and gets REALLY bright. Perfect for environments with a lot of sunlight and although the blacks aren’t OLED good, they’re really close. For the price, I would say it’s unbeatable.

I purchased an open box TCL QM8 65” for around $830 and it has not disappointed in the month plus we’ve had it. Even my wife commented how much she loves the picture and she does not take much notice of televisions. We have ours in a bright room, full of windows and the picture is still awesome. I own several TCL TV’s from the 6 series lineups over the years, but the QM8 is by far the best I’ve seen so far. The speakers are surprisingly adequate as well. Ours is connected to the newest Apple 4k tv box so I cannot comment on the built-in OS. Overall, I highly recommend the QM8 and it is wife approved!

Picture quality is very good IN 4k. Upscaling is non existent. If you ONLY watch tv in 4k or above you will be fine, otherwise you will be upset you paid so much like I am. I have had so many issues with this tv in less than a week. Apps kicking me out and back to the home screen, picture setting on the same mode changing everytime I change inputs, auto changes in picture mode like turning on ps4 switches it to “game mode” but if you try to turn down brightness it will kick you out of that mode and you will not be able to reaccess it. Ive seen “tearing” or what I would call ripping across the screen while playing video games, like an old closed circuit gas station camera from the 80’s. It is literally like lines ripping across my screen. Ive also never experienced a tv where there was such an obvious input lag to where it made me not want to play video games. As ive said, the still picture is great, there is a vast color range and blacks are deep and there is no visible blooming. Motion is also very good for watching sports. Id say its very good. About as good as you can ask for. So imo everything is either really good or really bad and for $1000, I want everything to be good, not just half of it. Also, the sound from the tv is solid but the remote is not something I cared for. It was wierdly shaped and felt very cheap. I will be returning this tv. I would suggest you do not buy it.

I used to have LG Cx and TCL QM8 QLED is closer to OLED and as a gamer , it’s definitely worth to buy TCL Qm8 ! Picture, colors and brightness is gorgeous!

This tv is just great value for price. When it comes to bright picture in a well lit room its the one for the price. Really one of the best pictures I have seen. matching oled but blowing it away in brightness and dark scenes.

I was looking for a TV with high brightness and great picture quality. I didn’t want OLED as I was worried about burn in. After some research, I found out about mini LEDs. This TV is second best panel for TVs and for its price, the size, picture quality and brightness are tough to beat. I highly recommend this TV. You won’t be disappointed.

OLED like picture quality but much brighter. Google TV UI is snappy and intuitive. Major con is the speakers, lacks mid range, dialogue is hard to make out, need subtitles, sound bar is a must. Overall, PQ cannot be beat for the price!

Extremely happy! Looked at TVs twice the price of this one but decided to give TCL a shot. The picture is incredible and the 120hz for Xbox gaming is a sight to behold! Highly recommended.

Love this tv! Been waiting for a 120 refresh rate tv from TCL. It’s the best one I’ve owned to date. Really like the TCL televisions. The google tv is nice and simple too. Subwoofer is a nice touch too.

After a bunch of research watching YouTube video reviews I decided this might be the best tv I could get at $1k or less. It was between this one, a Hisense, and a Sony that were all in the same price range. I think the Sony looked a little better, but was $200 more. Now that the tv is mounted and we’ve used it for a while I’ve realized I dont care for TCL’s UI. There was also an issue with the picture dimming and brightening at random. All in all im happy with the purchase. However, next time i may go back to the Sony.

Best 65" Mini Led Smart 4K TV for the money. Colors are amazing, compares to OLED black levels and brightness. Awesome Google TV smart features.

I’m extremely happy with the picture on this TV. It is very sharp, bright, and has vivid colors. It rivals the picture on my LG and Sony 4K TVs. I specifically chose this TV for my bedroom because it has AV inputs and I could connect my VCR and watch old home movies. Sadly, the AV inputs do not work. I tried various solutions. I used regular cables with an adapter and when that didn’t work, I purchased a cable with RCA video and audio connectors on one end and the 3.5 mini plug on the other. This did not work either, so I tried using a box to convert S-video, composite video, and audio signals to HDMI and attempted to view the VCR that way. That worked, but I cannot control the volume. Next I tried running the signals into a receiver, (that does not have HDMI outputs), and to the HDMI converter, This produced no video or audio. Lastly, I tried running the signals to the receiver, and using the cables with 3.5 connectors from the receiver to the AV input of the TV. Still no image or sound from the TV. What was especially frustrating is that the input selector of the TV would show the connected device, but when I selected that input, the screen would say “no signal”, regardless of whether I was using direct connections or going through the HDMI convertor. In fact it shows a 1080i connection from the convertor, but instead of displaying the video, it says no signal. Prior to purchasing this TV I had a Samsung HDTV. I used the same HDMI convertor on it with no issues at all. I have one other issue with the TV. I am deaf and have cochlear implants. I have a device that when connected to the headphone jack of an audio source, transmits the signal directly to my implants. The TV is able to output sound via the internal speakers and headphones simultaneously. I thought this was the answer to a problem because if I’m plugged into the headphone jack, no one else in the room can hear the TV. The feature works and the TV does indeed output sound through both at once, but when raising or lowering the volume, it only raises it on one. In order to change the other, one must enter the input settings and select the device you want to change the volume on as the sole output, then reselect the combined audio choice. After this the volume control will respond to that output device, but the process must be repeated if you want to change the other one. Pretty much makes the combined audio output too inconvenient to use., I love the image on the TV, but wish the AV inputs actually displayed an image and the combined volume could be adjusted together.

Great TV if you don't have big sports parties, the viewing angle is very narrow. Upscaled low quality content makes the motion looks kinda funny some times. High quality content is mind blowing.

The first TV that was delivered had a failed motherboard. Thank God I got Total Tech Support. I made multiple phone calls. Jeff, call #7 diagnosed the problem. I called and ordered a new TV except there were none in the NorthEast. Jeff helped me find a work around so the TV would work. The store manager in Burlington took back the mount and gave me $250 credit. Now I am waiting for finance to approve a gift to me. Robert, call number 14, made that happen. The TV picture is beautiful. I enjoy it when I sit down to watch it. And, I was able to cut the cord to the cable company which will result in substantial savings over the next few years.

This TCL 65” QM8 4k Mini-LED TV is beautifully bright, with intense color, so true to life I feel like I’m inside the movie I watching- great product at a fair price. Don’t hesitate, just buy it!

Great tv excellent picture, quality and functionality, but most of all the price, great size for the money. I absolutely recommend it get one you wont regret it.

Owned this 65" TCL TV for 3 months already. Couldn't be happier with the TV. Glad I didn't spend extra $700 on LG or Sansung OLED TVs. I believed they would be good or even better than QM8. But for the price, I would suggest the QM8 if you're not a serious game players. For ordinary TV programs or YouTube, Prime videos watching, QM8 screen quality is very impressive. Built-in TCL+ TV channels are good 4K images for Network News and very responsive. Pluto TV also shows high 4K quality programs. Overall, highly recommended.

A great tv but the sdr viewing falls short for me. Upscaling sdr (think sports) was not sufficient. It would be great in a bright room that an OLED couldn't handle. Ended up with an LG C3.
