The panel lottery...kind of look like crop circles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit I’ve done quite a bit of research on this “panel lottery” phenomenon. It’s not just with TCL but, apparently the dirty screen effect is alive and well in most brands...Most of the time we don’t even notice. Unfortunately for my brand new purchase this was unacceptable and I am arranging an exchange and hopefully a better panel because this TV in general gets great reviews and I remain hopeful. The picture is stunning in 4K, and has features of more expensive TVs as well. I have a 43 inch TCL Roku downstairs with no issues TCL did walk me through some reset options but they proved ineffective. I’ll post another review next weekend to see if the new TV is any better

Avoid at all cost; mini QLED is unreliable

Red looked pinkish and when I adjusted the red, the bright yellows were off. Some time later, the right side of the screen started to appear greenish, which was especially noticeable on someone’s face tone. I finally called the geek squad after about a year as I fortunately paid for the extended coverage. They noticed the issue right away and took the attached photo. The screen image was slowly degrading such that it couldn’t maintain yellow. Best Buy exchange provided great service in getting the set replaced. I went with an LG OLED C2 and couldn’t be happier. Bottom line: you get what you pay for.

There is a little white blurring on the panel but only when there is complete black. I have yet to notice this when watching movies etc.

Flawed Software System - DO NOT BUY

I had to call TCL and try troubleshooting (which was a waste of time). After 20 minutes on the phone with their customer service, I was told to contact Best Buy for a refund. This TV has a software issue/flaw that if this TV ever goes into recovery mode, your TCL TV will be considered non-functional (AKA BROKEN). Don't waste your time. You'll probably get your money back if it happens in the first 15 days, but after that, you're stuck holding the bag. The TV is super heavy and also came with scratches/scuffs all over the back of it (see pics). I'm buying a Sony. There's a reason it's hard to find these 6 series anymore. No one is telling the truth. Just steer clear!

Buy at your own risk

When I bought it they were running a TCL exclusive promo saying I could return it within 365 days (crazy, i know. that’z why u bought it) but now they are saying they never heard of that so I couldn’t return it. Well the picture progressively got worse & worse. Thought I won the panel lottery, turns out I didn’t & am stuck with this.

Check the volume

I purchased a 75” so I can’t just put it in my car and return it. The other qualities of the tv have been working as expected.

Defective screen on TCL Series 6 75" QLED TV

Had all of the specs that I was looking for at a price point that I was willing to pay. Display looked amazing up until I started to notice an issue with the screen. There were numerous dark bands across the screen that started to show up (see pictures below). Mainly with lighter colored screens. I worked with TCL customer service to try and debug to no avail. As of this review, TCL customer service has not addressed my concerns with the tv.

Bad Panel

My screen shows lots of white blotches if I turn off Dynamic Contrast. It's all over the screen and very distracting if im trying to watch videos with low contrast settings. The couple of marked spots never ever go away. I've tried restarting/reformat/different apps everything. It's always there as long as I take away dynamic contrast.

TV with cracks on screen

When I unboxed it today morning, I noticed a couple of small white scratches on the screen after pulling out the plastic from the screen. And after setting up the TV physically, when I switched on the power, there were cracks originating from the scratches on the screen. With this condition, I continued setting up Roku TV but it stopped working after some time. Currently, when I switch the TV on, there isn't any picture on the screen. I already own a TCL 49" Series 5 which I shifted to my bedroom. So I was quite excited to continue using Roku TV on this 75" 6-series. Request Best Buy/TCL for immediate resolution or replacement.

Defective. Don’t risk buying.

Worse on lighter colored images and from the side. I tried convincing myself that it’d be fine and I wouldn’t notice but it’s the only thing I notice now. Ultimately it has to go back. Will not buy another one because it’s such a pain to repackage all this stuff and drive it back to the store. Will get something of better quality next time.

Incredible at any price

It took me a few days to learn about, and understand the settings. They are quite different from any other TV I ever had so it took me a bit to get them just right. Well they are just right now and this TV is absolutely stunning. I mean its just astounding what this TV can do. HDR and Dolby Vision are something to behold on this TV. Super bright, excellent black levels, the local dimming works extremely well, motion is excellent as well. Oh and the quantum dot adds such beautiful color. The whole package is hard to describe its just that amazing. I'm sold on TCL that is for sure.

I was not expecting it to be this good

I own the higher-end LG C1 OLED and for almost half the price the picture is indistinguishable. Seamless access to Apple TV+, HBO, Netflix, Prime, etc. Renders Atmos content perfectly. Even in regular HD the National Parks series on Netflix is so sharp, bright, and vibrant you feel you can touch the animals. Requires a free Roku account, you can skip the credit card entry, and turn off marketing options; I gave them a unique email so I know they haven’t mis-used it even after a year. Super easy to use, responsive remote. Although a lesser-known brand, TCL does have robust customer support: I bought this with their soundbar and had compatibility issues which I was able to demonstrate by sending them a video clip, they sent a technician to my home and when that didn’t solve it, after a bit of pushing shipped me a new TV. (Side note: their 3.1.2 Alto 8 is wicked) I was not expecting it to be this good. I would buy another one.

Excellent TV, Love ROKU, Great Sound, 100% RECOMND

The other TV I was looking at was the TCL 75" 8 Series. The main reason I choose this TV was the price and features. The 8 Series was $800 more, and I couldn't justify that. ROKU is my go-to choice, and having it built-in was perfect for me. The picture is beautiful. We replaced a 70", which honestly, the size difference is not even noticeable. IF and WHEN I replace this TV, it'd probably only be for an 82" or above. But for now, I think you'll really like this TV. FYI, I don't have any issues with the sound. We have it mounted above our fireplace on the wall, and find the sound to be great. Also, someone said in the comments you have to pay for Roku --- not true. Roku itself is totally free with this TV, so don't be fooled.

75" tcl roju tv

The ruku operating system is great. My only complaint is that ive owned it for a month now and twice all remote buttons and tv buttons have become 100% unresponsive. The first time it happened i unplugged it and it fired righr back up and worked fine. The second time i just waited and after about 3 minutes, it fixed itself. Tother than that, fantastic picture and easy to use controls "when they work"
