Picture is great but go ahead and get speakers sound of tv is ok

Big TV with great picture. Have had for a week or 2 and have seen no cause for disappointment at all.

75” is a lot of real estate, and the TCL delivers in spades!

Love it. Don’t buy lower priced Samsungs or lg, the components in this tv highly outclass them.

I know this particular model is no longer being sold. But I felt compelled to give my 2 cents in the hopes that it'll save at least one person from making a decision they'll regret later (either in buying this particular model, new or used, or investing in a newer TCL TV). I legitimately wish I'd just paid more (even several hundred more) for another brand. This TV is an outstanding value proposition in every respect except one: quality control. I read about TCL's questionable quality control/reliability before I bought my 75R615 from Best Buy back in September of 2019. My concerns were piqued enough to pay $200 extra for an extended warranty but not enough to sway me from buying the TV in the first place. It's now December 24, 2021, and my 75R615's backlight is completely dead. The screen remains pitch black, but audio works fine. What's worse is that there was virtually no warning before this happened. Yesterday the screen went black, but unplugging the TV and plugging back in got things working. But then today it went kaput permanently. If you Google something like "TCL backlight dead", you'll see that my experience is anything but atypical. And more specifically, I'm not the only one whose backlight went out around the 2 year mark, but I suspect this time frame will vary depending on usage. My 75R615 was used 10-12 hours a day (just watching TV, no gaming). So if your usage is closer to say, 2-4 hours a day, your TV might last seemingly forever. I want to point out though that I own/have owned Sony, LG, Samsung, and Vizio TVs that see/saw the same 10-12 hour per day usage, and they never exhibited a single hiccup, let alone any kind of catastrophic failure, in 5-10 years. Also I always kept the brightness on the 75R615 on its middle setting. Even when what I was watching was too dark, I resisted the temptation to crank up the brightness because knowing the questionable reputation of the brand, I was afraid to break something on this TV. Also, the dead backlight isn't the only problem I've had with this model. My first unit developed an array of dead pixels along the bottom and top of the screen at about the 60 day mark. To their credit, TCL customer support was friendly and quick to send a replacement TV. But this is essentially 0-for-2 as far as reliability, and I won't be buying another TCL (or any other cheap Chinese brand like Hisense) TV again, regardless of the raving reviews they receive. The problem with those reviews is they don't do any long-term reliability testing. One final thing. You might think getting an extended warranty like I did is a great way to hedge your bet when buying a TCL. Even factoring in the extra $200 for the extended warranty, the 75R615 was better performance/spec-wise than anything else in that price range at the time. But obviously there's a huge inconvenience factor involved with the repair process (scheduling and coordinating the tech visit, not having a TV in the interim or always keeping a backup around, having to dismount/mount/move a giant TV for the repair, etc). Plus, there's always the question of the quality of the repair and repair parts. In retrospect, just not worth it.
