Have the first TCL series 6 Roku, never had any issue, play nice with apple and google ecosystem. See the new 75R646, have mostly great review, decided to give it a try. The Good: *Excellent Price, Excellent Pictures, speakers is decently loud and clear especially on Dolby content. *Adjustable Stand, Narrow and Wide Option. *Remote are nice, with 4 HDMI Port. VVR works great! *Light sensor and the TV can adjust brightness base on light condition. The Bad: *CEC not working since purchase from 2/14/22, and it’s still not working as of 3/18/22. *TV will randomly blackout while watching YouTube, Disney plus, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount +, Hulu, Peacock. Sometime it will restart, sometime you just get black screen and not matter how many time you hit the power button on the screen, it just refuse to turn on. The only way to get it turn back on is to un-plug and re-plug. *Unable to power on/Turn on, the TV with google voice assistant. The Ugly: *CEC not working, sound bar it will not work, you can connect thru Bluetooth with volume control, but low audio quality and volume control is clunky. Tried optical cable, sound decent, but no volume control had to use soundbar’s remote to power on and control volume.. *CEC not working so it will not switch input automatically, you got PS5/Xbox/Apple TV 4K, you have to switch the input manually. 75R646, not so smart for smart TV.

I’m an audio and videophile. We own an LG OLED and Samsung 4K TVs. While this isn’t an oled, I am VERY impressed with the vibrancy of colors, contrast, definition and brightness! This is an amazing option for those not wanting to spend $1,800 more for and OLED as you truly won’t see an increase in performance with these mini LEDs. Minimal to no blooming. We bought an open box and the picture was perfect! You may get a bad panel but any brand and model is susceptible to this. This is why we buy from BestBuy so we can return it until we find a fit. While we’ve never had this issue, it’s comforting to know we can return within a extended period. Honestly, if there isn’t any issue within the first few weeks, tv panels are good to go for years!

    Deal of the Year

I've had this TV for about a week now. It is replacing a 2019 Vizio P Series which was having software issues and bed vertical banding. I also have a LG C1-65 and the black levels on this TV are as close as you can get without paying for OLED or higher end LCD (Sony or Samsung). It's also much brighter with a wider color gamut than the Vizio. Because of this, the image is just spectacular in my very bright living room. I don't know if it's worth the $2300 MSRP, but for the Black Friday price of $1300 it's the steal of the year. As for software issues, I have not experienced any but I use an Apple TV 4K. Everything works with CEC, EARC, and Auto HDR. The screen uniformity is excellent on my unit, but that can obviously vary. I cannot recommend this panel enough for the current price since it's definitely not worth the extra money for OLED at it's Black Friday price point.

Clarity, color, picture of the tv is absolutley amazing!!! that part gets 5+stars. the OS is still a bit glitchy..random shut offs while trying to navigate where i have to unplug to get it back working but it is only a few seconds worth of time. Hope they get it straightened out soon. I have had the tv about a month now and the brightness and colors make it so worth the glitches for now.

I bought this after hearing all the great reviews and for the most part it has lived up to the hype. The blacks may not be perfect but they are very good especially for a tv at this price. Brilliant colors and outstanding clarity make for a very vivid picture. The problem I am having is that you cannot turn off HDR. This means that anything in HDR is so dim you don't want to watch it. The dimness of the picture also causes the 4k picture to look blurry. Watching "Tomorrow War" on prime on my 11 year old Samsung in 1080P was vastly superior to watching it on the TCL in 4K with HDR because of these issues. On the other hand, "Quantum of Solace" in 4K on prime but not in HDR looks good as do 4K videos on YouTube. I have contacted TCL about the issue and they are easily reached and responsive but they told me there was no way to turn off HDR on this TV. I also cannot seem to compensate for the dimness through the TV's settings. You can of course get around this issue if you stream from another device that allows you turn off HDR. I have had some success doing this from a fire cube but it is not perfect but this may because of my setup.

Picture is terrific. Jaw dropping really. Firmware is buggy. Wifi turns off every day. Not disconnects, turns off. TV won't allow me to turn on without unplugging and plugging back in. Working with TCL support on this has so far been an exercise in time-wasting futility. That said, they are responsive, to their credit, and really, what can they do to talk me through fixing bad firmware. I'm hopeful this will get fixed through an update, if not I will be returning (mid-Jan deadline for return). I cannot justify keeping a defective TV after what I spent. Too bad, really wanted to love this, so close. If you are planning to use your cable box primarily or Apple TV, I really can't express enough how happy I am with the clarity, black levels and brightness. If you plan to primarily use the TV interface, I'd hold off until this gets worked out.

Great Picture! Bad choice in Google TV!

I had a lot of hopes for the TCL 75 R646. Read many reviews and went on rtings.com and YouTube to firm up the choice. Although the picture was outstanding at times there were too many issues to overcome. Google TV as an OS on this TV was laggy and it would often times freeze or jitter if you needed to go into the menu while watching something. The picture settings would often change so you had to redo your calibrations all the time. Apps crashed often. The screen would sometimes have a lightning effect while watching a show. It did not do particularly well with fast motion. It would also have a weird distorted color bar at the top or bottom of the screen when it would boot up at the Home Screen. It would clear after waiting 20-30 seconds but it was concerning. I even ran into issues of it not responding to any buttons and had to force turn it off (unplug) to get it to reset. After 2 weeks of this I decided exchange the TCL for 65 Hisense U8G which has none of the problems I mentioned about the TCL.

Overall I am very happy with the set I got so far. Had to get familiar with new TV. Set it up with some help from goggle search. Afterwards I have a great picture, colors and blacks are very good to. TV has some great apps included with the set. Sound is decent for tv viewing, For movies and games may want to get a sound bar. The WiFi 6 is another reason I got the set, I stream movies a lot and together with my WiFi 6 router blazing fast streams. I still get some buffering, but depends on the feed source. I have the set about a couple of weeks. Like any new TV these days don't just take it out of the box and expect a nice sharp color perfect picture, you must tweak to your liking. From any angle it looks good. Plenty of inputs. Remote is decent takes a little getting use to. Best buy did lower the price on this set, went in to store and got the difference. The tv is a little heavy, the bottom stick out some from wall mount. I like the silver accents on frame. Colors and brightness wont disappoint. My first 75" TV, I love it. Play 4K movie was like it was live. I used the LIVE evening news broadcast to set up TV. The white shirt collar on the news caster was separate from his black suit jacket. I use it everyday picture gets better. At the price BestBuy now has it get one if you can. Enjoy it.

I purchased this TV before Thanksgiving and was quite please with the picture quality, large 75 size and price. The only thing was there were none on display at the stores. I was able to find a 55 inch (non Google)and the sales person said it's the same but larger with Google and not Roku. This wasn't what I wanted to hear. So I took a chance after reading the reviews about the display quality ( like OLED but Cheaper) and drove 35 miles to will call the TV since no inventory at my nearest stores or delivery was available. The TV would either lock up or just turn off when doing something on the remote. If you channel surf often during commercials it can begin to slow down or turn to change TV display settings when watching internet streaming live TV. Noticed the following during the first two weeks: Turn black and not responsive after 20 seconds (white LED would not turn back on into Standby), freeze or be non responsive to resume to Hulu main menu after being turned off overnight. Then the news came out about being removed from Best Buy, I contacted both Best Buy and TCL support regarding my concerns of the potential issues since this TV was within the return time and replacing a 75inch TV already mounted. I was told that Best Buy would replace the TV with another model should it be requested. TCL was contacted but didn't have any solution or new firmware release schedule. They only asked me to power cycle or press and hold the power button for 30 seconds while the TV was unplugged. I noticed that if I put the TV in full shut down ( TCL logo is displayed when powered up), the problems of locking up or turn black were less frequent. I'm a sports TV fan and I have noticed one most disturbing issue with regards to watching basketball games (Hulu). When the camera is near ground level and the athlete is running and the background are fans in the stands. The camera pans horizontal (left to right) keeping the athlete in the center of the screen, there is a blur/glow surround the area athlete that is annoying. I have tried to change multiple settings with with regards to Noise reduction and Motion Blur without any success. I may do a free trial test of YouTube TV and more ATSC if time permits. New firmware was recently released and TCL called to see if I'm having any issues. I'm now doing some more testing with YouTube, Netflix, Paramount + and ATSC with the quick power / resume on setting enabled. The system UI (TV settings) is still slow sometimes and can be annoying and still have issues with black screen where the TV needs to be unplug. Overall the firmware did improve the performance but it's not perfect and I have turned off the power on resume function. I hope TCL comes out with another release before my Jan 15 deadline to return and request a replacement. During past few years, I've been trying to switch from cable to internet TV and it's not the greatest with multiple platforms. I have purchased plenty of external boxes: Roku, Firestick, Chromecast and Android TV boxes. They all needed at one time to be power reset when it got super slow and locked up.

I've had this TV for a few months now and haven't had any issues with the Google OS that had been reported. The picture quality is simply astounding in all regards. Great colors and contrast. Super bright and ultra-dark. I was a little worried about the common VA panel problems like black/gray uniformity but have been pleasantly surprised to the contrary. Overall it was a steal after they knocked off $1000 b/c of the OS issues that seem to be resolved.

100% the best bang for your buck. I know i've read that there are some inconsistencies with the panel quality, however mine turned out to be great. Colors look great, size is great. Also I have a brightly lit room with lots of windows opposite the TV, it does a great job being watchable with all the potential for reflections during the day. While the Google operating system looks cleaner, its taking a second for me to get used to it coming from Roku, however I do believe it is a better set up. One quick note: If my panel had been bad, it would have been a huge nightmare trying to return this for a good one, the box is huge and the tv is huge.
