2 TVs broke after warranty expired
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within 2 years we got the red screen and nothing can fix it. We are trying to replace for a different TV through our credit card company. TCL says it’s unfixable and to pursue the warranty. Ridiculous for the money spent. My brother had the same issue with a Series 6 and also had to replace the tv at full cost to him.

Fantastic 4K TV, Great service from Best Buy. Deta
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fair warning, this may be a long review, as I felt that given how happy I am with this tv and my purchase and the service from Best Buy, that it warranted a good review, and I’m not the type to leave reviews. Firstly, to be upfront, I hadn’t shopped at Best Buy for a major purchase like this in several years, I wasn’t too impressed with how you had to go through hoops to get decent service, and a good price, but I read about their turnaround under a new CEO in recent times that put customers first, improved their pricing strategy, improved their stores and improved their employees training, knowledge and support (I have no affiliation with Best Buy in anyway other than being a customer that notices negative and positive changes and give credit where credit is due). I went to my local BB to see this TV in person as I had read lots of good things about it over several months, unfortunately they didn’t have it on display so the only thing I could go on was some pro online reviews, YouTube videos and the knowledgeable BB that I chatted with that gave me his honest opinion on this TV. Secondly, I want to add, I wasn’t really rushing to purchase this TV as I have one of the last great Panasonic plasma TV’s made, a 65” ST60 that was/is still wonderful with a great picture even after owning it for over 7 years and of constant use.....but I really wanted to upgrade to 4K and had my mind set on an OLED, specifically the 77” but it’s just too pricey and out of my budget. So, when I read and saw videos on miniLED and it’s advantages and that it is probably the best current tv technology that comes somewhat close to OLED picture quality (OLED is still king for excellent picture, if you have the money). I had seen some reviews on YouTube (Digital Trends) of this TV but noticed a few weeks ago that the price way $1,799, still a little pricy and so I held off to see if the price went lower, it did towards the end of August for $1,499, so I pulled the trigger and said what the heck might as well buy it and if I’m not happy I’ll return it. Thirdly, I’m glad BB online allows you to choose which day you wanted it delivered and as it’s a huge TV in an ever huger box so I chose for a date for a few days later than could have been delivered much sooner, as I had to figure out how to move things around in my home to make room for it. After I placed my order, BB online was great with email and txt updates on my order all along the way. I received delivery of the TV about 2-weeks ago, the delivery guys were great, called me when they were close to my area, handled such a large TV with care, we’re prepared in regards with Covid safety precautions, the box of the tv didn’t have any major tears or damage so all around a great experience with delivery. Now on to the TV itself in Pro’s and Con’s Pro’s: *75” 4K TV *25,000 miniLED’s for the brightest TV I’d ever seen *900 zones of those 25k miniLED’s making for great black levels that come closest to OLED than any TV I’d ever seen *Great build quality, actual metal frame and not cheap painted plastic. *Great Stand to fit even basic TV stands *Roku Smart TV apps are easy to use and so is the remote *The picture even right out of the box looks really good *With some tweaking of the settings the 4K picture looks stunning, even 1080p/720p content look great on it (I watched lots of great 4K demo videos on YouTube and was blown away at the colors/brightness/realism this tv is able to achieve). I’ll include below after my Cons the setting I used. *The TV has a companion app you download on your mobile phone to better calibrate the picture if you choose to, I haven’t used it as my tweeks I’m happy with for now. *The Roku app for Android or iPhone let’s you control the TV like the actual remote and you can plug in 3.5mm headphones into your mobile phone and using the app have the sound directed to your headphones not to disturb anyone if you don’t want to. Con’s: *It’s a heavy TV, weighs about 100 pounds and definitely needs 2 or 3 adults to help mount it to a wall or 2 to set it up on its stand. *I did have a WiFi issue having it connect but after a few reboot tries it connected and updated and has been working well. *I did notice 3 or 4 total inactive/ dead pixels but they were spread around and I had to literally look up close eyes to screen directly to see them, given there are 8 million pixels it’s want a deal breaker as they are so small and spread far apart and after having run the TV for 100 hours on a loop of YouTube color panels to see if it developed any other dead pixels I’m happy to say it hasn’t plus it typical for TVs like this to have a dead pixel here or there. *Really Fast motion was not as good as on my Panasonic plasma but the plasma is native 600hz motion rate, that said, this TVs motion is still very good just be sure your content is from wired sources and not streamed over WiFi as the WiFi buffering artifacts may fool you into thinking the tv is the problem with motion when it’s really the content source. *There is some minor DSE (dirty screen effect) on bright white fast moving scenes but that’s typical of all TVs even OLED. My settings for all content: In Roku settings turned off energy saving setting that dim the screen TV picture setting for all content: TV Brightness: Bright Picture Size: Auto Picture Mode: Normal Under Picture Setting; Local Contrast: High Backlight: 100 Brightness: 50 Contrast: 100 Sharpness: 30 Color: 65 Tint: 0 Color Temperature: Warm Action Smoothing: Low Action Clarity: Low LED Motion Clarity: Off Game Mode: Off Lastly, I’m very happy with this tv and purchase, as of today I’ve noticed the price went back up, for the current price it’s still a good purchase, but when you can catch it on sale it’s an fantastic value.

Too expensive for the issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this tv for 3 months about 16 hours put on it during that time. The TV started glitching and the only way to get it to stop is by unplugging it. I would not purchase this tv it’s way to expensive to have these faults.

Stunned & Stunning!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To say I am BLOWN AWAY at how beautiful this TV design is and how amazing the picture quality is would be an understatement. I was nervous about replacing my main living room TV where I do all of my entertaining, but am beyond happy with my decision! From the moment the Geek Squad arrived for installation and began pulling the TV from the box, it looked and felt extremely high end. For me, how the television actually looks, before it is powered up, is extremely important. The brushed metal - dare I say looks stunning on my wall! The picture takes the cake! We just downloaded the new Disney Plus channel and the content looks amazing, crisp and clear, with very dark black levels and very bold and rich bright colors. Even regular Direct TV looks awesome! My previous TV had Roku so I was not worried about that, but this remote also feels more superior to my previous. The sound quality also by far and away better than my previous, even without an additional audio product setup yet. I had planned on using my previous mount but the TV is so much more substantial with the glass front I ended up conveniently buying a new one straight off the delivery van. I am so happy with this purchase! This is bar none the BEST TV I have EVER purchased!

Not ready for prime time
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First there is a lot to like here and just as much not to. We got this TV in hopes that it could replace our OLED (which got a burn-in from gaming 3 hours a day games the rest movies/ TV shows) This TV can get extremely bight and deep blacks, but the local dimming algorithm it uses is really bad and the colors out of the box is really really bad. And this TV is 100+ pounds just and FYI. The colors is an easy fix and that can be done through TCL's iOS and Android application that attempts to calibrate the TV for you, which works well, not as good as a professional calibrator, but good enough. The local dimming on the other hand is what caused us to return this TV. When playing some games or watching movies with darker scenes cause the TV to freak out and will turn on and off one inch boxes of the screen so you don't get the gradual shadow detail its just a one inch black box and then if something triggers it it will turn back on (when it should of never been turned off in the first place) I found this more distracting than blooming.. I really had high hopes for this TV but in the end it didn't work for our use cases.

Happy with the purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had this TV for around a month and very much like it so far. Picture quality is excellent. For the price point this supports a lot of different picture and sound formats. The 4K/HDR is excellent and so is the contrast and the blacks. Also looks fine in a brightly lit room. If you can’t afford an OLED TV this is the next best thing. The roku interface is easy to navigate.

Great high-end TV for a great price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV. It is basically top of the line QLED for $1000 less than the equivalent Samsung. I didn't consider OLED because those for 75"+ are SO expensive. Plus, I have a bright room and this TV was supposed to be very bright (and it is). If you only watch cable TV, you can probably get away with a cheaper model, but where you see this one shine is when you have a 4K UHD source. It is stunning. I love the look of the TV, with a very smart stand design (not those annoying two v-shaped legs 80 miles apart that so many large TVs have now). Now that I'm used to the ROKU, I'm really liking that. I highly recommend this TV.

Brighter! Super Color! Well built!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Play Xbox One games mainly FH4 and FIFA...watch streaming 4k movies... significant upgrade from Vizio P75-F1 which started showing some board issues. Some motion handling issues exist which I didn't see on Vizio. But the brightness and color punch at HDR and Dolby Vision is worth the upgrade. It is well built not made with plastic but metal frame. Downside it is super heavy. Color calibration app can be used via Pixel phones only which is a bummer. I got it for the lowest sale price 40% off. So worth the upgrade...won't recommend to buy at regular price.. Waiting for eARC update..

Love! Love! Love!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We really love this TV. Blacks are amazing. HDR and DolbyVision brights are spectacular. Colors are vibrant! Even the TV sound is good (although we use a receiver and 7.1.2 surround). It's huge though! And heavy, too. Preparing to carefully wall mount it over our fireplace using a Mantel mount 700Pro.

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this for 4 months now. I bought the 75" when BB had the $1499 sale. Absolutely stunning 4k / HDR picture quality. When you can get it for this price, I can't imagine there is anything better. Maybe two times I have had a software glitch where the TV restarted while changing source, but nothing annoying or concerning. Decent sound out of the box. Just today I connected a Samsung Q70T soundbar. That is a lot nicer than the tv speakers. It was a painless process hooking that up to the TV and it works as it should without any connection or quality hassles . I'm a fan of Roku TV, it is easy, fast and just works. To each their own, some people like it while others hate it. Yes, as others have said, this is a HEAVY tv. Have help. If you intend to hang it, you might need 3 people with one of those folks guiding you while two are lifting and hanging. I am more than satisfied with this TV. We'll see about long term reliability, but I don't have any concerns about that or the TV now.

Awesome 75 inch TV
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've finally upgraded from a DLP to a new TV. Nothing wrong with my DLP, i just wanted a newer SMART TV. This thing rocks. The color and picture is excellent. Compared to OLED? I'm not too sure, but I didnt want to spend the over 2K amount for an OLED. This picture is very good on this. Colorful and Clear. This thing is heavy though, so make sure your TV stand can handle it and have another person help you move it. Watch Netflix movies/shows in HDR and this thing rocks. Trust me. It makes a big difference in how things look. Even Marvel Infinity war is WAY better watching on this TV. IF your on the fence with this TV, just buy it. Make sure its on sale though. I paid the $1500 + tax for it. Time will tell how long this TV lasts. But for now it rocks. The picture is awesome and the speakers is decent.

Brilliant
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If anyone would have ever told me that I would be writing a review about a TCL TV praising it? I would have thought they were crazy. But when I turn my new 75 inch 8 series on my jaw dropped to the floor. The TCL 8 series is absolutely magnificent and for the price that they are selling it at it's an unbelievable bargain! this is the first TV with mini LED technology in addition to that it carries 1000 Dimming zones. besides the awesome and easy Roku built in system and all the bells and whistles you can ever want in2020 4k. It performs so beautifully it's breathtaking! I did a two-part series on my YouTube channel if you want to learn all about it how to set it up ect #jbtechfanatic https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMdd-qroR8HX6m2-yUp6kM5nlH_phNo89 But this is a no-brainer you will be so happy you purchased this TV especially if you get it on one of Bestbuys killer deals they've been running! this is one of the best 4K TVs on the market today.. and I'm a huge Samsung fan and own many televisions. But TCL hit the market fast and hard with their top tier television and I can't wait to see what the future holds. But for now this is a must-buy. From one of my favorite stores BestBuy great customer service great prices and a great company!

In Awe at the Picture Quality and Value
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV exceeds my expectations, which I admit were pretty high going in. When all my new TV research started pointing to TCL's new mini-LED models as a way for me to get picture quality that rivals the best in the industry, but at 1/2 to 2/3 the cost, my hopes were way up. The TV was delivered last Friday and I feel like I won the lotto! My first impression on unboxing was that the TV is very well built. The metal screen frame looks and feels high-end. The fit and finish is great - there is nothing cheap about this TV and it is clear no corners were cut. The included stand comes in two pieces and it looks like it would easily screw to the back panel of the TV, but I wall mounted mine so I cannot speak to how easy or difficult it would have been to install the included stand. Setting up the TV was easy - just follow the onscreen steps to connect to wifi and pick the icons for whatever is hooked up, which in my case is satellite, a blu-ray player, and PS4. I already have a Roku account and linking the account took only a few clicks on my phone. All of my Roku apps automatically loaded, which was a huge time saver, but I found out later that you will need to login individually to these apps (like Youtube, Prime, netflix, or Hulu) the first time you use them. The picture quality is just awesome. I tested the TV out over the weekend with a mix of live sports (mostly football) and streaming shows and movies from Prime and Netflix. The picture is bright and edges are crisp and clean. I can see details that just were not visible on my old Samsung - like the details of woven fabrics or individual leaves on a landscape of trees. But above all, I just can't get over the insanely vivid and lifelike color. I highly recommend this TV. It has an elegant, high end look and a truly sunning picture, and I saved literally thousands from what the other tops brands would charge for similar performance - thank you QLED, thank you mini-LED's, thank you TCL!

Excellent picture, great reviews, one problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Near OLED picture quality for thousands less! Read lots of reviews and based on my experience with our 43" TCL, I purchased the 75-inch Series 8 for half off MSRP from Best Buy. Sound is decent without a soundbar (bought one anyway). Love built-in Roku's ease of use. Why only 4 stars? Shortly after set up the volume level dropped. The only way to recover was a factory reset, which required that I enter my userid and password for each streaming service and re-calibrate the video settings. I'm hoping that TCL will download firmware to correct this problem, but since I'd only had the TV for a week, it cost my review one star.

Who needs OLED!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This New 8 series TCL is as close to OLED as you can get. It has the brightness and color and deep blacks of the Samsung Q90 or LG and Sony OLEDs for a much lower price. The set up was very easy. My LG sound bar on fiber optic synced up to tv with no problem and controlled volume from the ROKU remote. Sound Quality from the TV itself is excellent also. I use ROKU on all my other TVs in my house for the Spectrum app and the huge selection of apps they have. It is also controllable with Alexa through the ROKU skill. Love this TV!!!!!!

Beautiful TV and so simple to use - a great value!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was purchased after months of heavy research with a mid-tier budget for the room it would go in, and now being a regular owner of this, I can't recommend TCL's highest-end TV enough! Slim bezel makes for a stylish design and the glassy backing of the TV reflects any LED strip lighting you want to add behind it for a visually appealing glow (also helps with glare). Simple to use, beautiful picture with deep darks, vibrant colors, and the simplest remote ever. I am going to buy the latest version for another room now.

The best TV I have ever purchased.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a TV in every room in my house. My old Pioneer Elite plasma finally went down in my dedicated media room. Best Buy associate introduced me to this new technology from TCL. The picture looked amazing in the store both on the 4k feed and 1080p feed they showed. I own 2 other TCL TVs, but they are in back bedrooms and rarely used. I have had great luck with the TCL TVs. Since this is the TV that my family will watch most we wanted something special. TCL 8 Series and Mini LED is the way to Go! It has the best of both worlds! The TV produces amazing blacks, while also not suffering on colors or brightness at all. I rarely buy things on emotion ever. But this TV was so noticeable better I had to take a chance. Best TV I have ever owned. Highly recommend!

Impressive color contrast and clarity
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had this for a short time but I'm very happy with how realistic and sharp the colors are. I recently had the TCL 6 series 75 inch which had a manufacturing screen defect and swapped that with this 8 series. This TV competes with a lot of top of the line OLED TV's at a significantly lower price point. I have it paired with the SONOS Arc sound bar and definitely recommend it or a comparable sound bar that can take advantage of Dolby Atmos surround sound via the eARC HDMI connection. The built in Roku interface is the proverbial cherry on top and makes this TV a joy to operate and watch.

Great TV for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the 75 inch for $1499. Also got the 5 year warranty, it's the best bang for your buck as far as non OLED and full array is concerned. OLED is a better picture, there's no denying that but this TV compares to the Q80t from Samsung and the 900 series from Sony. Very bright picture, a lot of the bugs from earlier review channels have been solved from firmware updates. It's not a $3000 TV when not on sale but when 1/2 off, it's the best deal in the store
