This TV’s features and PQ at the current price are more than match for the current offerings of the Big Boys (Samsung and Sony). I love this TV and will be keeping it for at least the next 2 yrs (at least until we get a 75 inch 8K TV below the 2,000 dollar range).

I have wanted this tv ever since i heard it announced. I got too impatient and bought an LG OLED C8 instead and absolutely love that tv. Then when this tv finally came out and it was $3000 i felt that was a little much for me so i waited and finally got it on a one day deal for $1799. So I moved my OLED to the bedroom bc i wanted a bigger tv as my main tv. I have watched about 20 movies and even more tv shows on it and the picture is great until it comes to low light images. There is a ton of ghosting and the picture almost looks like you are looking at a negative of the film. I adjusted brightness and color and looked at numerous sites going with their recommended settings and i just couldnt fix the low light scenes. A perfect example is in Gemini Man when Will Smith is fighting his clone in the catacombs, the picture is unintelligible. So i am sending it back and am going with the 75” NanoCell LG. I watched the same scene on my OLED and my 4 yr old LG TV and the picture was great on both. So hopefully it with th be still great on a newer tv. I will miss the Roku Tv OS though. Best OS around, but thats what they make Roku boxes for right?

Had to return first one due to about 40 dead pixels, including about 20 in one cluster near the center of the screen. Glad I did an exchange for the same model though, as my replacement has just a few dead pixels that can’t even be seen from more than 3 feet away, and the picture quality is just fantastic. Very pleased.

TCL 75Q825 Pixelated Motion Artifacts

I would give my 75Q825 a full 5 star if it weren’t for the motion artifacts especially on HDR contents. I just received the tv yesterday 12/04/2020 from Best Buy. I used settings from people in forums as a start. Picture looks great. However when all motion smoothing/clarity features are on, I see pixelated artifacts around the subject during fast moving or panning scenes. Saw this a lot from scenes in Mandalorian and 4K YouTube sports vids. When the features are off, it is less noticeable. People from Roku forums have tried turning the feature off but keeps coming back. My question is, are the pixelated motion artifacts normal when these features are on? If so, then what good are these motion features? Does anyone see the same thing? I hope I’m not the only one as I don’t want to have to go through an exchange.

Best 4K TV for the money

TCL provides and exceptional picture quality, great HDR performance and in the 75" category is the best bang for the buck. So what's the catch, well there is a couple, ne is the settings for your sources if you use the ARC feature for sound to your Receiver, then the picture mode will need to be reset every time you turn on the tv and switch sources, IE Netflix, Hulu, Amazon or even cable, due to the sources change and confuses the tv so it goes back to Store default. Second issue is the Sound when connected to ARC, you will need to turn up the receiver quite loud via the TCL remote which goes from 0-100 and will not let receiver control sound independently. Other than that I have really enjoyed this TV, and if you thick the above to issues aren't a show stopper then this is the TV for you, I had the Sony H950 75" and I believe he pictures and performance are about equal, Sony did have better black levels and its picture just popped better, but not $2000 dollars better.

I upgraded from a LG 55” TV to this behemoth. The size is astounding. It literally makes you feel as if you are in a proper home cinema. The television is incredibly bright, while landscapes look so real. I was amazed on how great the dark scenes on HP and the Deathly Hallows looked. Very impressed with the overall picture. My only hang up so far is watching football. When the ball is thrown downfield, it sort of disappears. Unsure if it is the tv or if there is a setting I can toggle to make this not happen as I am a big football fan. Terribly annoying. Otherwise, terrific tv. Was thankful I got it when it was $1499 (which is a steal).

We love this tv! The color is great, and I’m good with the Roku interface is good.
The only knock I can give this is when the tv gets an update. It can be at any random time and the entire tv will freeze up until the tv updates. There is no warning when this happens.

I bought two of the TCL 50” televisions for my sons bedroom and wife’s office. I was impressed with the picture quality and the internet compatibility with the Roku. This being said I was in the market for a 75” television to replace my Samsung 70” living room television which was an entry level 4K, now 5 years old. I watched the sales and wala’ an 1800 dollar price break.
I’ve been extremely happy with picture and internet compatibility. The television produces very good UHD - HDR images with dark blacks and white whites.
I feel as though I made out and only have a single complaint which is something which I hope is corrected with a future firmware upgrade by either TCL or Yamaha regarding the HDMI ARC options.

Beautiful bright picture. Very simple controls using the Roku remote. I've had three occasions where the TV would not download specific episodes on both Netflix and Disney+. I had to do a lot of investigating to narrow the problem down to the TV. Called TCL directly and they were able to resolve the problem. The first time was an over re-action where they TV was reset wiping out all my channels. Subsequently, there was a quicker non-destructive method that fixed the problem. For those interested, you unplug the TV, push and hold the power button behind the TV for 15 seconds, then remove power from your modem for 15 second. After rebooting the modem and plugging in the TV, all was well again.

This television is amazing! The colors are very bright and the screen is outstanding. I previously owned a Samsung UHD UN65JS8500 television and after 3 1/2 years it began flickering, would not update and apps were no longer supported (horrible). The picture on the TCL 8 Series blows my previously owned Samsung away and is a fraction of the cost for a bigger television. With the TCL having a recent price of $1,499 it is definitely worth it. My only issue is having to fix the brightness and color but that can be researched (youtube) and done on your own using the Roku App. Lastly, save your back and television by having someone help you put this thing up. Its over 100 pounds but the manufacturer did not skimp on the design and materials. The TCL 8 series is highly recommended and you will not be disappointed. TCL has now gained a new fan and customer!

Have had this on my wall for several weeks now. The local dimming produces an excellent picture, colors looked great out of the box. I did calibrate with the app, but didn’t notice much difference. BRIGHT! So much so it’s on Normal now, and I might go one lower. Have Roku all over the house now, love it. I am having trouble getting Xbox to recognize ALLM, but that might be unrelated to the TV.
Definitely recommend if you catch it on sale. OLED, while probably having a better picture, will also be thousands more. Lack of HDMI 2.1 is a bit disappointing.

The TCL Q75825 competes with Sony, LG, and Samsung quantum dot televisions. The setup is easy. The picture is tremendous. The smart interface is Roku, which has a lot to offer. I paid 1,700. The comparable Samsung Q70 is $2,000. The comparable LG Nano 9 is $1,800. The comparable Sony X900H is $2,200. The TCL is every bit as good as the LG or Samsung. The Sony arguably has a better picture. If you are not planning to pony up $5,000 for an OLED or 8K TV, the TCL is a fine unit. One caveat, when you turn on the set it defaults to the Roku menu. The first entry is HDMI. You click on that to set to your cable or satellite provider. It is one extra click; no big deal.

The picture quality is awesome and the calibration app made it easy to setup. The tv was so heavy that it didn’t work to hang on the wall, the swivel wouldn’t hold the tv upright. So I ended up using the stand which looks great as well.

Love it. TV is huge & picture is fantastic. ROKU is making me a believer. I know prefer over fire remote. Haven't bought a sound bar yet, but built in speakers are better than most.
Unit is heavy, so get a beefy mount!

Purchased online during a sale and thought I had hit the jackpot. Brought it home and set it up...everything seemed great. By the next day an area started showing an abnormal box that was dimmer than the rest of the screen. It would not happen immediately at start up, but appeared after being on for 15-20 minutes. Ultimately returned the unit. Return process was a disaster...so much so that I returned and did not re-purchase another TV from Best Buy. I was not willing to risk another defective TCL panel and nightmare return process again.

We caught the 75" TCL Series 8 on sale. Unboxing was crazy. Had to rearrange den to get TV out of box and ready to mount. After TV was mounted, (Get a heavy duty mount. TV weighs 103 lbs.) we ended up using the settings recommended from the CNET review. Have not noticed any of the negative aspects mentioned by other reviews. Thus far, we have thoroughly enjoyed this TV. Also own a TCL 65" Series 6. You can't go wrong with either.
