MOR- (Middle of the Road) Very fair sound and features, but not for the price point. A $300--$375 is a more realistic and fair price for the sound bar. Not too extreme high quality but still has appeals to those who wants better! Better than basic features. Overall I recommend this product if you want better than basic sound from your speakers on the TV or better than an entry level sound bar. This soundbar is definitely next level especially if you pay close attention to the details in sound when watching a movie. Wait for a sale;)

I love this sound bar. I've read reviews about the lack of granular controls for individual levels, but I find the controls refreshingly simple. If you want to tweak every aspect, this is not the product for you. If you want amazing sound without being an audiophile, do not hesitate. If you have a TCL Roku TV, even better and easier to set up.

I recently had a movie room with surround sound and it was great. We moved to a new home, and I purchased a TCL 98"TV and this speaker system. It's amazing how much this added to the tv. The sound is great, and I couldn't be happier with this system.

WE got this at an amazing deal with the purchase of our TV. It is beautiful, and sounds AMAZING!! It will definitely leave our windows rattling if we want it to!! Movie nights feel like a theater with more comfort and the most amazing surround sound!!! Beyond Pleased!!!

I absolutely love this item. We haven't hooked the surround speakers up yet. But the sound bar and subwooker packs plenty of punch. Paired this with our new 98" TCL TV and the whole tv watching more enjoyable.

The sound from this 7.1.4 Channel Sound Bar is great and I highly recommend it especially if you have TCL TV.

I really wanted to love the TCL Q85 soundbar. On paper, it checks a lot of boxes, especially for a product priced below the competition with the same feature set. Pros: The soundbar boasts an impressive hardware setup: three front-facing drivers, two side-firing drivers, and two Atmos drivers up top. The included rear surrounds are truly wireless—just plug them into a power outlet—and each features both front- and up-firing drivers. The subwoofer rounds out the setup nicely. One standout feature is the TCL app integration, which includes an auto-calibration function. This tool is designed to tailor the soundbar’s performance to your room's acoustics, and it’s a welcome addition at this price point. Cons: Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end for me. My biggest issue is the lack of manual adjustability. Neither the remote nor the app allows for detailed tuning of the audio to personal preferences, which is a major drawback. The bass also left a lot to be desired. The low frequencies lacked clarity and depth, coming across as muddy. There was a noticeable disconnect between the mids/highs from the soundbar and the lows from the subwoofer, which hurt the overall sound cohesion. To be fair, with all the features packed into this system, some trade-offs are to be expected. But coming from a high-end Samsung/Harman Kardon soundbar (which originally retailed for $1499), I found the Q85 lacking in sound quality. Granted, they’re in entirely different price categories, so my expectations might have been a bit high. This soundbar might work well for someone looking for an affordable, feature-rich setup, but for me, it's not a worthy replacement. I’ll have to pass on this one.

Excellent quality and bang for your buck. Great option for any living room

The soundbar is only mediocre for most media after a painful setup process. Connecting the soundbar is very simple, on par with other brands. The issue is that the app downloads old drivers and says that your drivers are up-to-date. If left as is, the soundbar sounds terrible with muffled sounds and a there is a constant noise from the surround speakers. I found other people had the same problem on google, and the fix is to download the latest drivers onto a flash drive from TCL’s website. After this inconvenient setup, the soundbar is just okay. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. I almost never notice the surround or upward firing speakers making this more of a 5.1 setup rather than 7.1.4. I bought this to replace a LG S70TR, a 5.1.1 setup that is less than half the price of this system. I tested them by hooking them both up in my living room and switching between the two while testing audio rich scenes from different movies with different sound formats. Dobly atmos supported content sounds similar to the LG, but all other content has practically no surround. The bass is stronger than the LG, but can easily be muddied at high volume. I believe this soundbar has potential and good technology but terrible software. One plus is that it is quite visually appealing. I will keep my eye out for any drivers in the future and edit my review if they make any notable improvements. Absolutely not worth the price as you could get better systems for cheaper without having to jump through hoops.
