"Dark Fate" manages to be a successful sequel, as well as a successful reboot. The film features a screenplay, that despite some clunkiness, it has some clever ideas: to start in Mexico and introduce us to Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), showing robots replace workers in a factory due to automation (foreshadowing what the machines in Terminator will do to humanity), Grace (Mackenzie Davis), a augmented cybernetically enhanced soldier, and to manipulate the story in to having us think that Dani is fathering the next John Connor type hero (since his and Sarah's actions stopped Skynet- but a new A.I., developer arises), but rather she is the new hero of this story: the one that the new Terminator (Gabriel Luna, who gives a great perfomance) has been sent to terminate; all of these ideas culminate to make a very watchable Terminator sequel that is the best sequel since "Judgement Day". With Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning everything seems to come full circle and "Dark Fate" emerges to become what could be the start of another batch of successful Terminator films. As for the disc, it’s a positive one. Great bonus features. It delivers a quality presentation with great textual details.

I love all things Terminator, but this movie might be the best ever. Crazy chase scenes, incredible terminator fights, the original Sarah Conner returns as an angry, armed bad girl, and there's a new character who looks good letting the stars shine. Don't hesitate, add this to your Terminator ensemble, get some popcorn and enjoy... I may just do that... right now, in fact...

Lots of action and tons of fun with this Blu-ray! Really enjoyed it!

This film is a direct sequel to the first two films and ignores all the less-than-stellar sequels that followed. It gave us a good conclusion to the original T1 and T2 films while setting up the series for another story. I had my gripes with how they played the T-800 character as he was written for jokes. But Sarah Connor is still bringing her A-game. The story picks up 30+ years after T2 where Skynet doesn’t exist, but Sarah still hunts and kills terminators that show up in a rather efficient manner. Like before, a protector is sent back through time to protect a young girl who will grow up to less the resistance to fight the machines in a world that has replace Skynet with Legion. Sarah, an aged T-800 and a resistance fighter from the future team up to take on the newest threat to humanity. Not as good as T1 and T2 but much better than everything that followed. Unfortunately soft box office has killed (terminated?) any chances of this getting a follow up, but who knows... David Ellison the producer is a multi-billionaire so maybe he’ll try following up on a streaming service.

I wasn’t sure how this movie was going to be after the last three Terminator movies. This one didn’t disappoint though. It had the same feel as the first two Terminator movies, but with a new edge to it. Something I feel the last three movies tried for, but fell short on. I enjoyed the movie the whole way through!

Even though this is the 5th Terminator movie, it actually connects with Terminator 2 as both Linda Hamilton and Arnold S. Rejoins together for the 3rd time . Although it’s predictable from a plot point of view, there is plenty of action. The DVD also has over an hour worth of bonus features. It’s worth watching since it concludes the final acting partnership between Linda and Arnold.

Love all terminator movies and this one didn't disappoint. Action packed.

great action thriller with amazing special effects

Best Terminator movie since T2. This feels to be a legit T3. Action and fight scenes were more intense, more story. Did feel like some things didnt happen the way they did, but overall Dark Fate felt like a real terminator movie, not just another sequel trying too hard. Maybe because Cameron had involvement.

terminator dark fate is a great action movie..the sound track is great it has ATMOS sound and i have atmos suround system..but iam very diapointed to hear from your sales people that your not going to carry movies at your utica location...also that the hollywood is not going to make movie disc any more.. how do we get great sound with no dic

as good as the other Terminator movies---good story and great action

So the idea behind this is a total remake of what the original Terminator was all about. Someone from the future comes back to the present, and... you get the idea. The focus on Dark Fate is more on 3 women and not Arnold this time. The plot was ok but it missed the excitement of what the original Terminator was all about. All in all - Story to me is 3 stars. Video Quality - I watch this with HDR10 turned on (no Dolby Vision in my HT) in my BENQ 4K Projector. The dark scenes were clear with HDR, but some dim areas came out more gray than black (for example - scenes inside the C17 plane), The day scenes were WARM in color (bit on the reddish side). I think it under utilized the 2160p - film could be sharper. 4 stars. Audio Quality - Dedicated HT was setup with 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos overhead speakers. LFE did not hold back. Speaker separations on scene were clear (like the drone attacks.) Sound level heights on my overhead speakers were amazing. All in All - this is where the 4K disc excel. All in all 5 stars filling the soundstage in my HT.

Good Terminator movie a little of the same, some big differences! Yes Arnold Schwarzenegger is back and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. Just as you would expect lots of relentless action!! This film brings back the fear of robotic a.i. takeover that made this franchise great!

Great action !!! One of the best terminators movies

Great action pack movie with a good story fun to watch

For one thing, the movie is excellent. It's a strong continuation of the T2 timeline that touches on all sorts of themes about humanity, fate and causality. Many people will not understand. Just like they never understand much. Plus it's an excellent action movie with a truly nasty villain and a great final showdown. Second, the movie looks as beautiful as it's ever going to being filmed in 2K. Yeah it's only 2K, oh no, heaven forbid. Heh, sorry but that still makes for an extremely detailed image that looks absolutely gorgeous on a 4K TV. Anyone who says otherwise is either really blind or being a total snob for no good reason. Or bought a TCL. It's a very worthy purchase, especially because it's quite cheap. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

When I first heard that this movie was coming out, I wondered if it would be any better than the three films it was supposedly discarding in favor of a fresh storyline. It turns out that more of a good thing doesn't always make it better, and even though this movie has a few good concepts to it, it makes me wonder why they bothered to do it at all--it doesn't reignite the franchise as some expected it to, but it's not totally disposable product either. Changing the story elements and reintroducing some familiar faces, including Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, doesn't seem to be enough, though the Rev-9, the new villain, appears to be a nice variant on the T-1000. James Cameron worked on this, but he seemed to only be telegraphing it in this time; it's not as wholeheartedly entertaining as Terminator 2 was, despite that this was supposed to be the "official" follow-up to that feature. Regardless of these issues, though, it's a Terminator movie, and should hold something for someone watching it.
