Ease of use was a critical aspect for me, once connected to WiFi and a quick firmware update I was good to go, I like the simplicity and capability knowing this device is future proof and subsequent firmware updates will keep in operational. I do enjoy the fact that I can schedule charging via the app, basically set it and forget it, yes it’s Tesla branded but will charge non Tesla EV’s as well. Money well spent thus far, happy I made this choice.

Easy install and got exactly what I expected

However, unfortunately it didn’t cover Tesla products. So I purchased this on my Best Buy card and use the credit for the electrician and installation. Everything was up and running within the hour and have not had any issues. I’m going on one year with my Tesla charger at home and also ordered the adapter for my car when I’m out and about. Does exactly what it’s intended to and quickly. Would definitely purchase again.

Great charger and not too difficult to install…!

I am no electrician but I did install it myself. I installed a 100 amp sub panel with a 60amp breaker up to NEC Code in my garage next to my main panel. I passed my county inspection and did it for a fraction of the cost of hiring an electrician. However, I am a very experienced DIYer and have been doing a lot of projects which gave me the know how and confidence to install it. I can talk about how well it charges because I don’t have my car yet! How er, each time I pass it in my garage it is my motivation for my new Tesla. I could buy now but I want the redesigned model.

Convenient until it's very inconvenient!

My only issues is that as of today, the adapter gets stuck in the charger and people on reddit have discussed having a similar issues. After 30 minutes of it being stuck, it now was able to disconnect but what if it happens again and stays stuck? Maybe being a charger with an adapter isn't the way to go. There should be a bypass to release the adapter but there isn't. It's very frustrating.

Being able to reliably have the Tesla infrastructure for EVs is the best way to make sure you car gets what it needs. The Tesla app just has so much more data than any others on the market. We love being able to swap the chargers to Tesla and then to Audi whenever we need. The cord is also long! Love that!
