The Book of Life is a one-of-a-kind animated film drenched in the artistry and folklore of the Day of the Dead celebration. Bursting in vivid colors and even a dose of Picasso can be seen in some of the characters. One doesn't have to be Latin to enjoy this wonderful feast for the eyes.

At first your eyes are blinded by all the colors, which at first put me off. When I saw it a second time, it wasn't so in my face and I could follow the story line better and appreciated the film more. By the end of that second screening, I loved it. It will certainly be loved by small children for the colors, but the values it teaches are the true beauty of the film.

At first, I didn't know what to expect when I saw the cover of this movie, but I'm really glad I bought it! The main story line isn't all that different from any other love story, but the way they tell the story and the different perspective of the afterlife is what makes this movie standout from others. I highly recommend watching/buying this movie!

This movie is great for both kids and adults, the story is entertaining and the details are great. The 3D and the sound are excellent except for some slight banding issues in some of the dark areas of the movies, which i can;t say it's the disc but more than likely my 3D TV/3D glasses. I recommend this movie because is entertaining and the colors are bright and amazing.

I heard about this movie via word of mouth and really wasn't up for watching it until I heard some familiar songs from the other room and noticed the awesome soundtrack. Fun movie for both kids and adults. Violence is really cartoony so its cool for kids. Comes with digital copy which is always a plus for my vudu collection and the 3d is pretty sharp.

A little different take on the Day of the Dead celebrations, with a good, entertaining story using it as the background. The characters are "represented" by the wooden figurines shown in the introductory scenes, giving the movie a unique look. The music, particularly a haunting song written by Paul Williams, compliments the film perfectly.

My husband and I were super excited to see this movie as there aren't too many out there that talk about Our personal favorite holiday, Dia De Los Muertos or "Day of the dead". It is a Mexican Holiday on Nov 2nd of each year. This movie did great at telling the history along with a cute plot and stunning visuals! I definitely recommend this movie for everyones collection!

I believe that Book of Life is a great movie that a lot of people skewed away because of the weirdness of it's look and for the sophistication of the subject matter (it deals about death, after all). However, if you give it a chance, Book of Life is very life affirming and with a message seldom available for little kids. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

I took my family and friends to see this movie. I wasn't real sure what it was going to be about and was pleasantly surprised to find fun, clean entertainment with a great message of "remembering those who have gone on" - don't forget family members and a wonderful story as a whole - the graphics were great as well as the musical score! Be sure to catch this one!

This movie has it all with tons of heart. Love, acceptance, understanding, fun and adventure. We saw it at the theatre with mild expectations and to our surprise fell in love with it. From beginning to the fabulous end just FUN. A new and different tale.....has been created and delivers.

Looking at the movie cover, I didn't have high expectations for 'The Book of Life'. But, seeing that it was on sale as part of a BOGO deal and reading reviews of it, I decided to pick this movie up. The movie was better than I expected. A must have family movie with wonderful music and singing, funny parts, tender-emotional parts, and some mild violence.

I bought this for $5 and I think I severely underpaid for it. The picture quality is amazing. All the colors pop in the movie and the characters have a lot of detail to them compared to some other movie releases. On top of that the story is charming and doesn't drag on. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a family flick because it is so amazing.

I saw previews for Book of Life in theaters and thought it looked different and fresh. I was still reluctant to see if because it's not from the other major Animation studio. So before buying the blu ray I watched and read many reviews that absolutely praised this movie so, I took a chance. After watching it, I was definitely a believer in the movie and thought it was well done. The animation is sharp and colorful on blu rays and helps keep you engaged in the story. A very cool movie to share with the fam!

It made my granddaughter happy! I found the best price here and the order process was easy. The first one was lost in the mail, I called customer service and they sent a replacement. I would purchase again. Looking forward to my next purchase.

Our whole family loved this movie! It was beautifully made such vibrant and bold colors and characters. The movie was also very educational regarding the Hispanic culture in regards to Dia De Los Muertos in a way that young children can relate to. It was also a great story about love,friendship,family and forgiveness.I would recommend for anyone!

The wife and I watched it with our son and we both enjoyed it immensely! It was one of those movies that you just seem to enjoy. The storyline was great, so were the characters. Normally I can't wait for some of the boys movies to end or just find something's all right. But this movie had both me and the wife talking about how much we enjoyed it.

This tells a lighthearted (though sporadically dark) love story about 3 friends (played by wooden-ish marionette-type figures) fighting for the ones they love. Great Latin twists on pop and rock love ballads. If your family likes music and storytelling, this will be a hit. Just don't take it too seriously...

We purchased this movie in 3D, but you don't need to see it in 3D to enjoy the beautiful graphics. This movie also has a beautiful story line, while providing some great laughs for the little one, young adults, and the older adults too. This is one movie you won't dread watching with your kids. It's one of the better animated movies as of late.

My kids loved this movie. My eldest - 16 loved it so much she took it off to college 2 years later and we had to buy another one for the young ones (ages 3 & 4). It's beautiful, has a lot of fun music, and once you get past the fact that it's all about the day of the dead - which is made as celebratory as possible, it's a great movie!

The amazing animations in this movie make for a fun and entertaining lesson about the hispanic cultural tradition of The Day of the Dead. The story was well written... a romantic story even children will understand. The "dead" scenes are not scary so younger children will love this too. It's a colorful carnival-looking scene at every turn!
