One of the best looking games out right now. The story is good and has the resident evil/dead space vibe. Only downside is the melee combat is clunky.

Great Start to a New Kind of Survival Horror

Great and new survival-horror IP that is filled with phenomenal and frightening creature designs, an interesting story, plenty of scares, albeit running a tad linear but choke full of tension every step of the way. Controls reminded me of Silent Hill Homecoming, and is a bit difficult to master at first. You will get frustrated at first until you have mastery of the dodge mechanics and enemy attacks.
Best part of the game? The many various death sequences based on enemy type—they’re very gruesome!

Graphics are truly phenomenal. One of the best looking games on the Series X. Callisto Protocol really shines with its atmosphere and sound design and thats where this game is sucking me in. Interesting enough is that this game isnt overly scary but rather kimd of keeps you on your toes throughout. Some may prefer that, others will be disappointed. I dont understand the hate with the combat and more so the dodge mechanics. The key is patience, let them come to you and respond. Comboing melee and the gun is awesome and effective. Story was a bit short but I enjoyed it for what it was. Medium difficulty is the sweet spot. Easy can alleviate a lot of frustration with the dodge mechanics for some people. Id say its worth 40, not 60.

I’m only a little more than an hour into it but am enjoying it so far. The graphics on Xbox Series X look amazing. The actors are immediately recognizable. The audio with surround sound adds to the ambiance and sense of dread.
The controls are a little stiff for this generation of games I’d expect a little more these days but horror games are more about atmosphere than pure combat and this game so far definitely delivers on that.
It feels like a spiritual successor to Dead Space in many ways. If you liked that game this one will be up your alley.

This game had huge performance issues at launch so I can’t give it full marks. But aside from the sadly common launch issues, it is stunning in graphics and challenging gameplaywise. It is no dead space and the combat loop is very different, but it is a great survival horror game where survival is key. I’m def in the minority of people who like this title but it’s worth a try, especially as it drops in price.

After reading initial reviews I was a bit worried. After playing about halfway through I can say the game is a ton of fun and looks great too. If you enjoyed Dead Space games you should enjoy this.

Don't get me wrong, definitely a solid 9/10 game. Is it perfect? No. Is it pretty awesome? Yup. Don't expect an easy playthrough though, easiest difficulty had me die over 10 times, which I'm sure why a lot of people hate this game cause its either "buggy" or "too hard". Cannot wait for the NG+ mode coming in February, it's definitely going to add more lifespan to this badass game.

Very solid game and I think fills a void for horror games that sits between doom and resident evil. It does have a hack-and-slash style of combat, but I'm a fan. Only once or twice did I feel like I had to follow a specific formula to get past a boss/area. I do like the dodging mechanic that so many dislike, but it does have issues if you are after multiple enemies. Switching weapons is slow along with health boosts. I understand they probably did this to make the game look more cinematic or add tension but during boss fights when you are using a lot of resources and need to switch weapons it gets frustrating. I think they should have implemented the slowed time like red dead or doom for the weapon switch at the very least.
I'm glad this game is action-based and doesn't waste time having you circling a huge map to find clues or items needed for puzzles to progress. If you want that, there are plenty of resident evil games. This is an action-based horror game that I think sits nicely between Doom and Resident Evil. Yes, it's pretty linear, but because of that the environments look amazing and the pacing feels good, especially for a casual gamer.

Good survival horror game to hold us over for Dead Space remake and RE 4 remake. Great graphics. Good story but very short. Never played Dead Space but seems very similar.

Overall not a bad game. But not what was expected after all the hype for it to be the next Dead Space type game. The melee combat while cool, felt lacking in combos and more animations which is a shame because it felt like it was suppose to be a big focus of the games combat cycle.

This is genuinely a great game, with a decent story. Do you like science fiction? Do you like action? Pick it up i still have my 5th playthrough to do because they updated the game and added MORE achievements.

This is a good game definitely worth playing especially in a dark room . Only problem I came across was the glitch in the game that took you back to the main menu every time. I’m not sure if there was an update to fix the problem but if you look online you can find ways around it .

Very short game, i did like the game but having to wait for the rest of the story is a big letdown. The mechanics also felt very slow and kind of clunky.
