Awesome movie for a fan of superheroes

I saw The Dark Knight from start to finish and I loved it. I truly loved at the end where Batman kills Joker and he kills Two-Face and this was one of my favorite Batman movies that I ever liked. I know this movie is close to 8 years since they made this movie back in 2008 and it had the late Heath Ledger playing the role of the Joker and for me, I cried when I saw his last movie. The Joker was the best villain that I ever liked from the Batman movies and I will always remember Ledger for playing that role. Thank you very much and I will recommend this movie to my friends and my family, too and I will see this movie again with them. I will see it 200 times more because it's my favorite movie ever. Yours truly, Zaida Quijano.

This was originally the best looking bluray out of the trilogy. In 4k its fabulous. The imax picture is perfection. Heath Ledger should have won a oscar.

Disc look outstanding. I was dissapointed the sound wasn't upgraded from the bluray. DTSX or Dolby Atmos would of been preferred

Great movie, but CE not for everyone

    Posted .

While plenty has been said about The Dark Knight and how amazing it is, this collectors edition set with the Batpod can frustrate some Blu-Ray owners. Some of you out there are like me and purchase the biggest, baddest, top-of-the-line edition of anything we are going to purchase, but likewise, we keep our collections orderly and like everything to be neat, uniform, and alphabetical on our shelf. I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but some of you reading this are in the same boat as me. Just know that this will not go nicely into your collection, as the discs' case is built directly into the figurine. No alternative like the collector's editions for Blade Runner or Hellboy 2 or even the previous collector's edition for Batman Begins. Great movie, great extras, but just remember that if you're very particular about how your collection is organized, you're gonna have a figurative square peg to somehow get into a round hole. I WOULD NOT recommend the CE to someone who was as particular as I am, but would gladly recommend it to everyone else.

The original Blu-ray while having great picture quality still had issues with some of the city scape scenes and the initial IMAX scene. That has been corrected and looks gorgeous on 4K. Overviewed by Nolan himself.

While personally I thought that Batman Begins was a better film, The Dark Knight adds to the series in some meaningful ways. The late Heath Ledger's last performance as the Joker was excellent and great to see. The tone much like Batman Begins (and much of the DC universe) is very dark with some thematic action sequences and disturbing villains. Some of the cityscape IMAX shots look amazing, as does the entire movie as it is in native 4K (unlike a lot of other 4K movies that were released in 2K, I'm looking at you Disney and Marvel 4K releases). But the sound is also incredible. The only disappointing thing about the Dark Knight 4K releases is that they DO NOT include any type of digital copy, so you get the discs and that's it. At least with the Marvel movies you get a digital copy that includes the Dolby Vision release. But I digress, if you haven't picked up these movies yet, these are likely the definitive versions to own, although the 70mm IMAX cutscenes could technically eventually release in up to 12K, this 4K release is beautiful and showcase for your 4K television and surround system.

Best DC movie to date. Likely will never be topped due to Heather Ledger amazing portrayal of the Joker. Everything fell into place and made this one of DC best movies. I only wish the follow up had lived up to the potential (i.e. replaced Bane with the Riddler). Definitely worth seeing in 4K.

Fiction in the eponymous Batman theatre. As perceived by audiences, this is one for the books. There's also the villain. Heath Ledger takes on Christian Bale in this action packed fan favorite. See it in your home theatre today!!!

Best version of movie so far

Good movie, but that is subjective. Technically the picture is solid. If you are a fan of the Nolan Batman movies, it is worth the upgrade from standard Blu-ray. The picture is clearer with more noticeable details. The imax scenes are amazingly clear and vibrant. The soundtrack is not atmos. It is the same DTS as in the Blu-ray but it is a strong mix nevertheless. For casual viewers or those who have smaller TV’s (less than 50 inches) or sit back far from the TV, the recommendation to upgrade is less.

By far the best out of the Nolan Batman trilogy. And that is mostly down to the brilliant performances by Heath Ledger and Morgan Freeman. Heath does such a brilliant job. He really took this character into a new dimension. A shame he never got to see the impact of his work. The movie on 4k UHD is a sight to behold. Clarity and color cannot be beat. It just keeps you mesmerized the entire time. If you are a a fan, this is the best the movie has ever looked. Pick it up now!

I'm a big Batman fan and Cristopher Nolan's Batman trilogy (Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises) are my favorites (so as Tim Burton's). I have this movie on DVD and for any reason I never watched before other than at the movie theater years ago, even I was told that this is the best movie of the trilogy, so I wanted to get it on Blu-ray to complete my trilogy in the same format and I finally watched it the same day I received it and wow...I totally forgot how good this movie is, really amazing! Heath Ledger is for real the greatest Joker ever, probably his best performance, Christian Bale Batman persona is a master piece as superhero in this movie (my all time favorite Batman performer) and the rest of the cast are just great!. Definitely the best of the trilogy!

The Imax scenes in 4k are worth the purchase alone, only downside is that it does not include a Dolby Atmos track. It was a decision by Nolan so i guess you gotta respect it. That would have taken the movie to another level but still good. 4 stars because disc was moving around the box when I got it.
