Fantastic image quality despite aspect changes

First of all, if you enjoyed The Dark Knight in theaters, this Blu-Ray version of the movie will definitely disappoint (this is all pending a nice 1080p HDTV and BD player - all which is needed for a fantastic experience). The detail and presentation of the movie is so crisp and sharp, I would say that it was a good transfer translation from film to Blu-Ray disc. The one GRIPE I have of the Blu-Ray version of The Dark Knight is this: the aspect ratio CHANGES from letterbox to full screen HD throughout the movie. It's probably the most talked about gripe of this Blu-Ray version I've ever read about. The regular DVD version of this movie has consistent aspect ratio while the Blu-Ray version "flip flops" from letterbox to full screen. It's annoying but not enough to make me not want to buy this for my home entertainment system. Definitely a must-have for Blu-Ray enthusiasts!

I have been waiting a LONG TIME for this one to come to the 4K format, well only 2 years since the format is relatively brand new. Happy to see the Nolan 4K collection come home finally to the format. This movie is one of my all time favorites, but you may be wondering why I only ranked it a 4. Well it does have pristine video complete with the changing IMAX aspect ratio that blows up to the size of your screen (in other words no black bars), but the theatrical audio mix makes the dialogue a tad low here so the spoken words in the center channel needs a bit of a bump up. No Atmos or anything like that either. All extras are ported over from the Blu-ray release. Here's a review we wrote up of it http://whysoblu.com/dark-knight-4k-uhd-blu-ray-review/

This is a good movie with some really good scenes and acting however there are some scenes that are not lit right and hard to see also for me it dragged in some places and at times batmans voice got on my nerves like nails on a chalk board i mean seriously who the hell talks in a loud wisper like that ??? also it didn't keep my interest as well as the first one did. still this is a good movie that looks great on blu-ray and morgan freeman is in it and he's always great... i wonder who the next batman will be ? hopefully someone who doesn't speak like someone is standing on their throat.....

    Almost perfect.

When a movie makes almost one billion worldwide, it has to be good and this movie exceeds that. Ledger stole the show and his performance is so good, I forgot it was him and I was disappointed whenever he left the screen. The movie still has a few cheesy moments, but if felt a little misedited toward the end, but all in all, an amazing movie. There's a few extras on the Bluray that aren't on the DVD 2pack, but aside from that (and the obvious picture quality), they're the same so go with what you prefer.

Iron Man is still my favorite "Comic-to-Movie" movie created, but Dark Knight is no slouch. Featuring some of the best acting and imagery, this is one of the best movies for 2008. Extremly crisp and clear visuals make this a dream to watch and combined with a solid home theater system, the sounds will literally blow you away with mega bass and 3D sounds that have you constantly looking around because some iof the sounds seem to be originating from inside your home...truly amazing.

Although I had received the steelbook damaged. It was bent and when I went to open it, It was in two. I took it back to the store and exchanged it with the same one; It is perfect. I love this movie. I wish the Dark Knight Rises was also on Steelbook to complete the Trilogy.

I never re purchase movies once I own (already had on blu ray), but had to invest on the 4k just because this is one of my favorite movies. If you already own in blu ray, I would not suggest to purchase the 4k, but if this is the first time buying, I would get the 4k version just for the slightly better quality.

I have seen ALL of the batman films on the big screen starting with Michael Keaton. This last film wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad. I liked Michele Pfeiffer as catwoman much better than Anne Hathoway. I haven't heard what they are going to do next but I don't think C. Bale will be in it. This disc comes with Special Features.

    Not so "Special Features"

The "Special Features" on the the DVD and Blu-Ray simply aren't special. There is minimal extras at best, and the material that is included are quite frankly boring, for the most part. Save your money and don't bother for the Special Edition, if you want the Blu-Ray, buy it for the quality and not for the extra disc.

The dark knight is one of my favorite movies ever. While not a native 4K movie and though some of the HDR effects seem muted, it’s still a pretty good upgrade from the blu-ray version. A highly recommend upgrade.

Some people prefer Adam West, others like Michael Keaton and a third group like Christian Bale (nobody likes Val Kilmer or George Clooney), but regardless who your favorite Batman is, it's a pretty sure bet that this one is their favorite, or at least a close second.

This is a must see movie for Batman action/ adventure fans. It is the second in the latest Batman trilogy featuring the brilliant and final performance by the late Heath Ledger as the deranged psychopath, the Joker, and sets the stage for the third and best movie of the trilogy.

After 10 years The Dark Knight is still one of the better comicbook/superhero movies out there. Not my favorite version of Batman but the characters and world around him are still thrilling.

The Dark knight is my second favorite Batman movie in the Dark Knight Trilogy, awesome story doesn't even make it like the movie is over 2 hours long. The art work on the steel case could have been a lil better.

Great movie better in 4K but not so different in Blu-ray aside from the Joker which is the real compelling character in the movie. The sound is good, not great.

Love these movies and on blu ray, enjoyed all the extras and watching them for the first time with my son. The coupon for $8 off the Batman vs. Superman movie in theaters was just gravy.

If you are looking for a great Blu-ray disk then this one is for you. Excellent detail and color. The story is a bit dark, but that's just the nature of plot. Overall a most excellent picture.
