Really good for a console MMO.

I've been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games for a while, and decided to give this a try since the Gold Edition came out. I had faith that they would have done a good job converting the Elder Scrolls world into an MMO, but was very hesitant as to how this would work on a console. Being an MMO fan since Everquest/World of Warcraft days, I couldn't imagine not being able to type while playing. You can use a keyboard with the PS4 for this if you want, but the game plays really well without it. There are enough ways to travel/craft/buy/sell things without having to type so I haven't had any issue with this so far. Also, in dungeons, most people seem to have headsets (at least that I've grouped with) so communication isn't an issue. As a new player I wasn't familiar with dungeon mechanics, but with the One Tamriel update you can join the dungeon queue and be grouped with people of all levels. Everyone has been super helpful explaining fights and I have yet to run into anyone who wasn't willing to help. The game plays very smooth. I haven't had any sort of lag even in the larger cities or during boss fights with a lot of particles on the screen at one time. It seemed a bit overwhelming at first but after a few hours I began to get the hang of combat mechanics/crafting/questing etc. Some of the quest lines are very detailed if you take the time to listen/read what's going on in the quests. Even the side quests seem to have a decent story to them which really enriches the experience within the game. A huge update went live mid October 2016 where you can bring your character just about anywhere and everything scales to your level. I think this has been a huge improvement and gives a ton of freedom to the game. It also really helps if you have friends that play, as you don't have to stay in the same general level range in order to group and do content that suits both your levels. Instead you can level ahead or lag behind and both parties will still get experience/gear/be effective when grouped. My friend plays less than I do so he's about 10 levels behind or so and we have no issue porting over to the other and grouping up. The game is built to allow you to play the way that you want. Regardless of your class selection you can wear heavy/medium/light armor, tank/dps/heal, and use whatever weapons that suits your playstyle. There are some combinations that work better than others, and although I haven't reached late game content I'm sure this is more prevalent there...but the majority of the game allows you to play how you want and have fun. Lastly, if you're just looking for a new Elder Scrolls game and have no interest in grouping, this is still a fantastic buy. You don't have to group or talk to anyone if you don't want to - there is a TON of content that can be done solo and you can spend your time just questing and exploring/building up your character. For the hours of game play that this offers there is really nothing to lose buy picking it up.

Huge fan of Skyrim. I tried different MMO's like WoW, FF14 and Guild Wars 2. All of them seemed a little too complicated. BB was having a sale where I got the game for $25. This game has so much content - its insane. On top of that it has no mandatory subscription fees. This is perfect for 30 minute sessions at end of day. This is different from Skyrim in the sense that world does not revolve around you. But the quests are fun and combat is actually better than Skyrim. I would recommend watching some videos before starting the game as basic concepts are not explained well.

I got this at Best Buy for only $19.99 and it is well worth every penny. I've been wanting to get this game since it was announced but wasn't able to. I decided to get this one ahead of the Morrowind expansion just to get some levels in and get the expansion only download, also from Best Buy. There is so much to do. If you want you can just do the main quest line or do any of the many side quests. You can even just spend your time working at crafting. Join up with a party or go it alone. Play however you want. Awesome game.

I've been wanting to play this game since it was announced a couple of years ago, but had to hold off until recently when I finally got highspeed internet in my rural area. It as worth the wait. I decided that at $19.99 here at bestbuy.com I'd get this edition and just get the Morrowind update when it comes out. This is a great value for only $20! There is a wealth of things to do. I've been working on the Main Quest, picking up side quests as I go along, and even just wandering around. I was suprised when I was walking along the shoreline and came across a treasure chest tucked into some trees. I've been mining and huntIng. I haven't tried my hand at fishing yet but I plan to soon. You're never rushed to complete any tasks by a deadline. Not in my experience anyway. My schedule doesn't allow for me to join a guild and take part in any organized play, but that hasn't been an issue. In fact, in my time playing it seems that everyone I've come across is playing solo. That said, I haven't gotten too terribly far. I'm sure as I go along I'll come across groups, and come across situations where I think being part of a guild would have made things a little easier.

When this game first came out, it was a mess, lacking in content and plenty of bugs, but since then, there was a complete overhaul and the game is incredible now! With so much added content and areas to explore, this game is a blast, especially with friends.

I've enjoyed playing this release of elder scrolls online. It has native 4K support on the PS4 pro or enhanced visuals for a standard 1080p display. The gameplay is very fluid for an mmo and feels very natural. All in all I would highly recommend this to any fan of the elderscrolls series i.e. Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim etc. I would also recommend this game to players who have not played any elder scrolls games as it is still a solid game. 10/10 would buy a third time if I bought an Xbox one. I already own it on pc and the game is very similar experience to the pc version with controller support and user interface option enabled.

This is the core game with all dlc included. Very fun mmo especially if you have a friend. Game has mixed reviews saying it doesn't feel enough like WoW and it doesn't feel enough like Skyrim. ESO isn't any of those games. It's a huge open world and it feels more like morrowind and final fantasy xiv put together. Idk I have a lot of fun playing and the quests can be pretty deep

Good game but quite a lot of fetch quests. Can't complain too much as most MMORPGs are like that

I thought Skyrim was the bomb (and I still play that). Elder Scrolls online is very addictive just like the rest of the series. You do have to have a PS online account so make sure you do the membership as well. Great game with an absolute endless world to explore and play in.

Could play this all day if I had the chance, lol! Graphics are excellent and the story lines you open up are creative and exciting. This and Skyrim are two games I enjoy if I can get a couple of hours of free time away from the fam!

ESO online is an near endless amount of fun there is so much you can do and explore and with the Gold Edition you get 3-4 DLC areas. The graphics are great and there is an almost endless amount of customization you can do on your characters. The big downside is that you get a bit lost in the game and hours slip by too quickly.

Bought this primarily for the DLC (already had the base game). Buying the gold edition is much cheaper than just buying the DLC with the crown store.
