A whole new way to experience Skyrim!

I've owned and finished Skyrim on my XBox 360, played it again when the "Special Edition" came out on my XBox One, and now playing through it again with my PSVR. Despite having played this game to death, it's such an INCREDIBLE experience to play it in VR and to be ACTUALLY INSIDE THE GAMEWORLD! After starting it in VR and playing for 7 hours straight, I lost track of how many times I said "Wow! That's awesome!" as I revisited familiar locations in the Game World. The immersion level is awesome and though many may complain about the somewhat "fuzzy" graphic quality, the feeling of immersion and feeling like you're actually walking around in Tamriel is absolutely breathtaking. I'm actually quite happy with the overall graphic quality (I'm playing on a PS4 Pro) and kudos to Bethesda for giving players so many VR "comfort" options so that those more prone to motion sickness can set the options to make it more comfortable. I personally have no issues with "VR Sickness" since I've been playing with my PSVR for almost a year now, so I've disabled all the extra VR limitation settings to give myself the full experience! This is a DEFINITE MUST BUY for any current PSVR owner and also a great way for people still thinking about getting a PSVR to finally pick up a headset and experience the wonder of VR.

Obviously anyone who has ever played Skyrim probably said they "practically lived there" or something along those lines, so making it a VR game is a no-brainer. And while it's amazing to be able to look around and take in your surroundings, two things dampen the experience and will likely keep you from playing for hours on end the way the game usually inspires you to do. One is that the motion sickness I got is worse in this than other VR games I've played; after ten minutes I was woozy whereas I can usually last a half hour or so. The other is that the lower resolution for the graphics, customary in PSVR titles, is much more noticeable due to the fact that this is a game we've all played. At times it looks even worse than the last-gen non-VR version of the same, let alone the enhanced upgrades for PS4/X1. So while you're "inside" the world, it's also a world that looks cruddier than the one that made you want to go there to begin with. Control works fine and the entire game (plus the DLC) is accounted for, so it's not a stripped down version or anything, but I would truly be amazed if someone were to be able to complete even one major quest line, let alone the entire game, in VR mode, which makes it a tough sell at full price. I wish they could have taken a cue from RE7 and made it playable without VR so new players could at least enjoy the game the normal way if the VR proved to be too much.

There are not many titles that can boast being open world and VR. This is the same game most of us know and love, but the VR aspect adds a new dimension. Personally, I find the game to be more of a technical feat than the preferred method of play. There are certainly episodes, events, and highlights that take advantage of the VR technology, but once the novelty has worn off, I do not anticipate any but the most diehard of the VR or TES fans/enthusiasts will have a lasting appeal for the countless hours it takes to play through Skyrim. Between Doom VR and Skyrim VR, on the basis they were released the same date, I would venture to say Doom is the better VR iteration, because it is a different game, designed around VR rather than a different perspective of the same game. I'm not disappointed with the purchase overall, but for my style of play, shorter sessions in a game packed with as much content as Skyrim tends to make the VR presentation less appealing.

Let's face it, we are in the era where remakes, remasters, and re releases are king. Outside of the standard texture upgrade or two, there's not much added to enhance the experience. Skyrim, has been re-released on everything but Samsung's latest high end refrigerators....just give it time. That is not to say that it is not one of the best experiences offered since its 2011 release, but it has not exactly reinvented the wheel. What Skyrim VR does right, is it has successfully created a fresh take on the game. Offering two different control schemes, along with an option for full locomotion to boot. What I liked most about the experience is allowed for complete immersion in its vast world of winding dungeons and dark catacombs. The implementation of the VR Headset made me want to walk around and explore everything. It is truly a fresh take on an otherwise old formula, but one that is more than invited to experience. Good job Bethesda. I would recommend this game to added to anyone with a VR Headset collection.

After logging more that 200 hours in PC Skyrim, I thought there was no reason to revisit it again. I was wrong! It took me a few hours to adapt to using the move controllers, and to adjust screen brightness and controls properly, but once done in in love with Skyrim all over again. Hundreds of hours await you, and while the resolution is far lower than what I played with on pc, the game is so immersive, you'll find totaled just gawking around while in caves, or just taking in the night sky. You could easily just buy a psvr and Skyrim and justify its purchase. My wife also gets motion sickness, but she can play Skyrim for hours without problems. If you are considering getting it, Just Do It!

I am new to VR. Glad I waited awhile to see if there would be good games available for VR. Going by other reviews here and on line. I haven’t had rime to try this game on VR yet, I hope it meets my expectations . The non VR games Skyrim are the best RPG. Looking forward to giving this a try when I have more time . Had to purchase now as my BBGC 20% about to expire. I am buying a few games before May , when my GC expires. Than I will be buying games from Amazon for discounts with my Prime Membership . Better than nothing !

This is a wonderful way to play a game I've played so many times before. I own this game on the PC, the switch, and now for PS4 virtual reality, and the virtual reality is my favorite. Since you can see it on the tv and in the headset, my older kids and I love being able to watch each other do crazy things like slaughter villages and see how long we can last before getting killed or put our heads in weird places so it clips on the screen, gives us some good laughs. I also love just replaying the game by myself in VR

This was basically my reason for picking up this title. Yes, the VR elements are really nice & work surprisingly well, but what I'm most excited about is finally being able to play this game on console at a smooth 60 frames per second, even with a regular DualShock 4. I was very disappointed that the Skyrim Special Edition on PS4 didn't have this, and as a result, I didn't purchase it. So this is a decent compromise. Had this game allowed you to import saves from Skyrim PS4, this review would have been 5 stars. This is a long game, so allowing me to keep a potential 100 hour save file is welcome.

This was kind of destined to become a thing seeing as Skyrim is such a classic. Even if you’ve played all through Skyrim once or even twice before. Nothing quite stands up to experiencing it in VR. Now it may take a bit of getting used to the controls and what not, it can be a bit weird at first, but once you find your optimal control setup you should get fairly used to it by the time you reach the first major coty in the beggining of the game. Swordplay can be a bit weird, but I’ve always enjoyed sneaking and archery anyway, which I highly recommend. It for me at least, is by far the most immersive and fun.

I've played skyrim on ps3, ps4, pc and switch but his is an entirely new experience. The controls with the moves are a must! DS4 felt cheap but the moves make the game an unforgettable experience. The new pro patch fixes all blurriness of the previous version and you will spend hours getting lost within this world. Magic is powerful and exciting as you feel like emperor palpatine firing lightning at everything in sight. Don't buy into Reddit and negative reviews this is a must own PSVR game!

I'll start off with I own Skyrim for ps3, ps4 and pc so that should tell you how much I liked this game. Playing in VR is INSANE! They had to scale down the graphics a little so it's not graphically as good as the remaster but you will forget all about that with in minutes of playing really. You can use move controllers or a dual shock but I would recommend the dual shock. This is not a watered down version it is the full fledged game!

Wouldn't it be cool to look around the world of Skyrim not on a television but through your own eyes. Now you can. Walk into a castle and look up and around as if you were there. VR experiences like this and Resident Evil 7 are blowing me away. I thought it was a gimmick. It's a game changer. Had Skyrim LONG ago but didn't want to put in the time. Now that I can be transported there, I have to put in the time.

This is the type of VR game I've been wanting. I've always wanted a VR game that would take me a long time to beat because most of the VR games I play have not been that long in length but this game will definitely take me a long time. Whenever I play, I feel like I'm in a new world and I can do what ever I want to do without having to follow a particular order of things. I haven't played any of the Elder Scrolls games before so I am really glad that this is my first!!

Playing a game like Skyrim in VR is the reason to invest in VR. However, moving with the move controllers frequently results in teleporting past walls that you are not supposed to. I personally love the ability to explore areas that the developers never intended you to get to but this could be a turn off to others. If you are looking for the immersion but don't want the movement bugs, the use of a standard controller works fine.

this a 1 to 1 port of skyrim onto the vr. it gives you multiple modes of locomotion, to suit the skill level of those wearing/using the vr. fluid gameplay not disrupted by the movement, and while some are better than others, you can get more comfortable with movement the more you use the vr in general, thus you should be able to use which movement type you find preferential for gameplay.

You can't go wrong with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I have played this game on Playstation 3, again on Playstation 4 (before VR) and I am currently playing it on the Nintendo Switch. This game has been fun with each play through. Now for the VR part, they downgraded the visuals for VR which was a bummer, but not a killer. It's a big game for VR therefore if you get sick at your stomach easily from VR games, this may be one of those games.

Received game within 2 days which was wonderful. Explore Skye in in VR as you have never seen it before. For newcomers you should expect to put in at least 60 to 70 hours minimum in this game to completion and that's if you aren't stopping at almost everything. Definitely more enjoyable with a controller for me personally and there are many options in the settings for comfortability with turning and motion in general.

This game got super high ratings but maybe the bar is set low. It’s weird. Just playing it is weird. So if you don’t have lots of time to adjust to the weirdness of the game until it feels normal...I don’t know that I would make this purchase. It’s fun to just mess around but I don’t know how serious you can be while playing in this weird way. Particularly the controls. Idk maybe I’m doing something wrong.

VR is lacking in great full length games. Skyrim VR delivers on a great VR experience and a great game. The motion controls take a bit to get used to but add a lot to this already fantastic game. My only problem with the game is the screen drift. Holding the motion control about chest level seems to level it out but it needs work in this area. It’s all that keeps me from giving Skyrim VR five stars.

At first I was a bit leery about buying Skyrim Again for VR. I figured they should of just patched the original release. After putting a few hours in, this is truly amazing and worth it. Graphics are not the best but it really does make you feel like you are in the world. You can play with move controllers or the standard controller. It is a must own if you have PlayStation VR.
