I highly recommend this movie. I'm a fan of the Fast and Furious movies but Fate of the Furious (#8) is by far the best out of the last 3 or 4 movies. When you buy it, cause I know you will, make sure to get the steel book version. The "die cast aluminum" type material they use for it is much better quality that the basic plastic case. It made a real cool addition to our DVD collection. The 4K picture quality was amazing. This movie deserves to be watched on either 4K or at least blu-ray. You're wasting your money if you get this one on standard DVD.

The Fate of The Furious is once again a great car movie with all the returning cast minus Paul Walker (he will be greatly missed). I give this movie an A for all the great action.

The Fate of the Furious is a great action film like the previous ones where the main thing is the family despite certain circumstances that appear like is to think that Dom is a traitor but at the same time it has an action that entertains and it excites.

The movie is entertaining, and takes the audience to different locations around the world like recent films. Action packed with some original cast members, excluding the legendary, "Paul Walker". And at a great price! I'll watch it again.

Movie come 2 days later than the original day 7/11/17. order steel box , but when package arrived, the box is dented and damage. Although Best Buy offer $3.00 credit and a $10.00 gift card to compensate the delay of the movie, However, my point is pre-order is want to received on the day which is release and expedite what you order what you have, but end up. the collection steel box come in damage. see attached picture of the right hand corner close to the "S" near the edge Very disappointment, and wont order on line again.

Another F and F installment. Another car race intro. And another bad guy / good guy showdown. Is this movie even about car racing anymore? They might as well make it into a TV series...hey now there is an idea!! Remember to mail me the royalty checks :) So does that mean this movie is bad? Well..no... not in the sense of what it promises. Action, Adventure, and a chance to workout your surround sound and subwoofer and highlight your shiny new 4K TV. I remember when the first F and F came out. It was nostalgic, as I was still in the import 'scene' so to speak, so seeing all the upgrades and money being spent into this hobby spoke directly to me. And most audiences from that era. I remember many a friday night meets showing off each other's engine bay, neon lights, stereo systems and wheels. Sadly, Facebook came along and car meets became a thing of the past. Meets became facebook posts. No longer did we meet then have dinner. We just took pics of our rides and share. No surprise that this whole series went from the builder's hobby to just extreme insane super cars which are just acquired hand over fist. NO more talks of adjustable suspension, turbo kits or exhausts. It's all about getting the bad guy, and getting him fast. So back to this installment. If you are like me and have followed the series, of course you need to watch this. I mean you need to find out how it all ends up right? And you bet there will be a sequel as long as the movie keeps making money. Does it have a good story? Well...it has a story. Let's leave it at that. But let's be honest, you don't watch this movie for the story, but for the action. And there is plenty. Yes, it tries to tug at your heartstrings a bit but frankly, I don't think many people became too invested in the characters anyway so one more or less doesn't distract from the main one. Torreto. So if you are looking for a good action popcorn flick, just go ahead and give this one a spin. Should you buy it? Well..let's put it like this. If you just need to 'complete' your collection of all the movies, go ahead and buy it. It looks and sounds fantastic. Also, wait for a sale (I bought this movie on sale on Black Friday). This movie is poised to be about 15 bucks soon I predict. Otherwise, it is a tough call. As the series progresses, to me, they are becoming more and more wait-for-cable movies vs gotta-collect-this movie. Let's put this like this: I didn't buy it until it became on sale. And even then, I had to think about it twice.

    Still Fast, Still Furious

The Fate Of The Furious is the 8th movie in The Fast & The Furious franchise. Remember to watch the franchise in this order: The Fast & The Furious; 2 Fast 2 Furious; Fast & Furious; Fast Five; Fast & Furious 6; The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift; Furious 7; The Fate Of The Furious This franchise started out as a uncover FBI agent who infiltrates a group of street racers who are suspected to also using their cars to hijack shipments of electronics. The agent ends up becoming part of their family and later movies in the franchise have their team using their driving skills to pull off incredible heists and missions. Each movie in the franchise furthers the overall story line and the same core characters keep returning while each movie adds new characters and stories. There is lots of action, lots of fast cars, danger, comedy, and things you never thought you would see a car do. In The Fate Of The Furious, the team leader is black mailed into using his skills to help a cyber terrorist steal different things that will allow the cyber terrorist to control a submarine full of nuclear missiles. The CIA recruits the rest of the team to stop him. This movie is like Gone In 60 Seconds meets Ocean's 11. [NOTE: Best Buy sells The Fate Of The Furious movie by itself, but if you are interested in checking out the whole franchise Best Buy sells a box set of The Fast & The Furious that includes all 8 movies (including this one)]

A Solid Entry if Not as Strong as the Last Few

What direction The Fast and the Furious franchise might go in the aftermath of the untimely death of Paul Walker and the heartfelt sendoff that was Furious 7 was always going to prove to be an interesting answer. And now, we have that answer in the form of The Fate of the Furious-the eighth installment in this accidentally successful saga that only continues to up the action ante while somehow managing to also drive the plot forward and successfully push the story in new directions. It must be said up front that if you're a fan of the series and what it's become then this latest entry will more or less satisfy you, but whereas up until this point it's been exciting and interesting to see where the next film would take the series the question of how long this can go on is certainly more prevalent as Fate comes to a close. It's not that Fate necessarily loses any of the steam from the previous films, but more that it's beginning to spin its wheels; ultimately leaving little new room for the series to expand. Sure, there are questions left unanswered that will undoubtedly be resolved in future installments, but now that we've built to the events of Tokyo Drift and are in fact two movies past the moment of real momentum where Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the real big bad of the franchise, showed up and did his thing the question is now if there is anything left for the series to do to re-entice audiences. It is not without admirable effort that The Fate of the Furious attempts to re-ignite the investment in these characters and their on-going adventures as this latest chapter takes the route of fracturing the one thing that has always been the constant of The Fast and the Furious-its family unit. If you've seen the trailers or even any of the clips that have been released for Fate it is likely that you're aware of the arc that Vin Diesel's patriarch Dom Toretto takes this time around. While this turn of dynamics among the cast is a welcome change in narrative direction it only works as well when it is able to balance itself with the overall tone of the franchise, but too often it takes itself a tinge too seriously and goes a shade too dark for this to both feel fresh while in the same vein as the outlandish, but supremely entertaining Fast & Furious movies we know and love.

    Still Fast

This one feels like the Fast and Furious meets HK Cinema. The action sequences are elaborate and fun to watch but at times you will notice the faster than possible speeds like old 70's action films where stuff was filmed kind of slow motion then sped up double speed to look like really quick action. It comes off as cheesy but I believe at this point the franchise is cheesy and that's just part of the fun of it. Though we all know that Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) won't return in this film, and he is practically not even mentioned, the film manages to carry the same cache as the previous films. Much like how Tokyo Drift was missing the series regulars it still manages to be a good franchise film. The antagonist was a bit far fetched and the audience has to make some pretty incredible stretches to the plot line, the action scenes make up for many of those shortcomings. The quality of the transfer is great, I only noticed on slight issue about 5 minutes into the movie with some slowness/jittery to the movie like it was buffering a download. But I haven't gone back to the re-watch the movie again to see if it was an anomaly in the player or disc or if it is actually a poor copy. I was playing back on my Xbox One S. I didn't see any other issues with the movie and the colors and fidelity look superb, especially on my 75" Sony Z9D. If you didn't catch this one in the theater this one is a fun one to watch. If you enjoy the franchise this one is inline with what you probably expect, it certainly wasn't the best (Furious 7 or Tokyo Drift IMHO) or the worst (2 Fast 2 Furious) but somewhere in the middle above average. I would own this if you are a fan of the franchise and want a fun film with great technical qualities.

As with most Fast & Furious movies, you probably either love them or hate them. And I don't blame you for either. I liked F8 as it has some great action sequences and some interesting twists and turns (no spoilers). As a 4K copy goes, this is another outstanding release in this franchise. This is an amazingly wonderful copy of the movie. HDR makes the colors pop with vibrancy, especially during action sequences. And the 4K video/sound quality is excellent. The level of detail you can see just really helps with the emersion and enjoyment for me. The producers rolled out an astonishing array of famous actors for this, the 8th in the Fast & Furious line. Not only does Kurt Russell return as 'Mr. Nobody' but now sort of famous Scott Eastwood plays his henchman, 'Little Noboby'. Wayne Johnson also returns as does Michelle Rodriguez. Actor/rapper Ludacris continues to expand his acting credits. Two Oscar winning actresses have supporting roles, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren. The producers could easily have put lesser talents in thier roles, but chose instead to delight us with these two powerful women. Tough guy Jason Statham also returns. Tyrese Gibson rounds out the list of the famous. A truly worthy addition to the Fast & Furious franchise.

On par with Furious 7 no doubt

When I first heard the news of Paul Walker's passing during the filming of Furious 7, I was devastated because I literally grew up watching The Fast and the Furious movies and to me, Paul Walker was an integral part of what made these movies great in my book. I wonder how this would affect Furious 7 but somehow it didn't for as far as I am concerned, the movie was great. This however lead me to another question, how would these movies continue without Paul Walker?, well I'm glad to report that The Fate of the Furious is on par with Furious 7 no doubt and while there are certain things character and story wise that I didn't agree with, it in no way detracted from my enjoyment of the film. This entry has without a doubt elevated the action even more than in the previous installment (aside from the plane sequence, the tower sequence, and the end sequence). In the end, those who loved Furious 7 will most certainly enjoy this follow up.
