This is a bad movie... A really bad movie. The premise is that Matt Damon and company go into China to bring back gunpowder. They find out that the great wall of China was built to defend the country from alien monsters and get caught in the middle of it...

From the director of HERO, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS and CURE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER, comes another good film. Not as good as the previous mentioned ones, but a fun entry in the Zhang Yi-Mou filmography.

Special effects are phenomenal! The movie is a mixture of fantasy and sci-fi. It has some very intense moments, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Great acting! If you are into fantasy movies with real characters and fantasy monsters, then this is the movie to watch!

Was a solid film , if you enjoy Matt Damon you’ll like this film. Has cool Chinese historical themes even if you’re not too into history. Also has some surprise stars you wouldn’t expect to be in this.

What I liked about this movie was the beautiful Slip Cover, hahaha. The movie was Ok, good to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Honestly, Matt Damon should pick better roles. I guess this was an easy paycheck for him. Anyways, I'll advise to rent before you buy.

I really enjoy this genre of movie. If you like folklore mixed with sci-fi type movies, this is a great movie. Movie gives a sci-fi reason for constructing the Great Wall of China (forget the Huns). CG is good, action scenes in 4K so fluid and realistic.

It was good entertainment. I love the visuals and the vibrant colors. Maybe because I've seen hundreds of movies, I can spot a predictable plot, but it was good. Matt Damon just seemed to call it in. It was the visuals or eye candy that I enjoyed the most.

Wasn't interested in watching this based on the earliest reviews. But when this movie was on a deep, deep sale, I purchased it and thought I'd give it a watch. It actually was surprisingly entertaining.

Matt Damon steps away from Jason Borne and does a good job of it. While the movie has no historical relevance, it presents one of the myths surrounding the Great Wall. The cinematography is outstanding and it is a beautiful movie with monsters!

I am very interested in the Great Wall of China so this was a no brainer for me. The resolution and special effects were outstanding and my big screen Samsung TV really showed off the superb effects and grandeur of this film.

I know the critics try to kill this moving but in actuality it was an awesome story. If you want a good plot revolving around the Great Wall with great effects and a great team behind the film I highly suggest watching this one in total darkness and let the colors jump off the screen.

This is a great buy if you are a fan of the movie, as the 4K quality of the film is really good (it looks great on my 4K TV even without HDR). The special features on the 2nd Blu-ray disc are worth watching as well if you are interested having more insight into the making of the movie.

I streamed and watched this movie 1st; as I have done with most of my movies, now. Saves money and I'm not "surprised" before putting out my money and buying a movie "unseen". Excellent plot; actors and the action is wonderful. The movie looks great in 4K. Highly recommend this movie!

I've always enjoyed Matt Damon films, and this one doesn't disappoint. There's humor, great CGI effects, and scenery. The plot is okay but the character acting is better than average.

Set your expectation right, then this movie won't be so bad. I've read about the negative reviews. it is a fiction flick, so keep that in mind. Other than that, good CG work and with Matt in it, it is worth a watch.

Great action and special effects. I decided to purchase the 4K version of this movie because of the the action in addition to sale price on this particular movie. I was not disappointed. It was more than worth it.

I already saw this movie in 3D but was not satisfied, this is the reason I purchased this 4K The Great Wall to play with my LG4K3D-Bluray player matched with LG55" 4K TV and it was amazing. The picture is so stunning and the audio is so crisp on my Sonos 5.1 home theater set-up.

I liked the Great Wall. You have to see it in 4K for the beauty that that film provides. The colors are wonderful and the Dolby Atmos is immersive. I will definitely recommend this to friends or families. .

It's a Good Friday Night movie. Pretty well done, but a little over the top... with a few shooters of Patron and some friends it is entertainment for the night.

This is a great adventure with amazing fantasy action. If that's what you're here for, you'll have a great time. The 4K transfer for this is outstanding, a feast for the eyes, especially the landscapes!
