This movie was good, the wolves are going to shock you, the ending I hoped would be better but understandable, cause it would of been nasty if I saw the ending I wanted to see, even tho I wanted to see a fight.

A recommended film for those who appreciate themes

At first glance this movie could very easily be written off as merely another survival movie; however, its ambiguous tone and careful ambience inspires thought which is something I look for in movies. It is easy to label The Grey as a survivalist movie, and not even a great one at that, but I believe there is more to this film than a simple genre label. This film inspires different interpretations which is its greatest strength. The ending, although it may produce some negative reactions, was a perfect conclusion if the theme of the movie is kept in constant perspective. I would greatly recommend this movie, but I would also recommend it is not watched based on genre presuppositions, but rather evaluated based on its tone and themes: these considerations will make the experience much more enjoyable. Also, an honorable mention of the soundtrack is necessary.

    Entertaining but dark

Very bleak, dark toned survival/man against nature film. I love Liam Neeson and Frank Grillo in pretty much any movie they're in. This movie is very intense and you're really rooting for the characters. The wolf scenes are very brutal, and there IS a brief scene after the end credits that may or may not give some viewers closure, for lack of a better term.

I enjoy almost any movie located in a snowy environment. Owned the DVD, but wanted on blu ray. Glad I upgraded!

If you enjoy a good survival story and just an overall well made movie, then this one is for you. Out of all Liam Neeson films, this one is by far his best.

Moments of unbelievability mixed with solid action

I'm a sucker for Liam Neeson movies, so it was inevitable that I would purchase a copy of "The Grey". The film is actually better than I expected (even if you have to suspend your moments of disbelief at times regarding the wolves). The movie does have plenty of action, a great plane crash, and plenty of territorial wolves who want to do nothing other than eliminate Neesom and his band of survivors. If you liked Neesom in "Taken" and "Unknown", then you'll like him in "The Grey".

I was pleasantly surprised that this movie was well done. It's a bit of an action and thriller movie that Liam Neeson carries well. Worth a watch.

    Bleak and Beautiful

In Alaska, when an oil drilling team's plane crashes in the frozen wilderness, the team's head of security must lead the team to survive the elements and a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. The Grey shows that we are all instinctual at our core when faced with impossible odds. Logic, faith, religion, or sheer determination sometimes give way to more base animal behavior in times of desperation. Alphas emerge to lead. Betas fight to be the top dog. And survival usually goes to the fittest. http://bit.ly/ynaJuy

    Liam Neeson Does It Again

Spectacular scenery and on the edge of your seat drama with unexpected action . It is rather a slow mover at times , but not bad . Once you start this story you don't want get up and miss a scene or you'll miss the plot . If you liked Taken and Taken 2 , this is a movie you should watch . Not for everyone is the reason for a four star rating.

    A Wolf Amongst Us

Liam Neeson plays another tough guy in a bad situation, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. He and a few others crash down in the snowy wilderness, and in their effort to survive find themselves hunted by a pack of hungry wolves. This is a dark, slightly depressing film but still a fun ride.

I'm not a big Liam Neeson fan, but this movie seemed like a good bargain bin buy. The plot was decent enough, however it became a little too predictable for my taste as it began to follow a formula. Not bad for an inexpensive Bluray, but not an instant classic.

While not one of the best films I've ever seen, the filmmakers establish the atmosphere well, and you get a good sense of the hired hand mentality of this group. I'm going to watch it again in the middle of winter in my cabin up north by myself...Should be a good night.

Liam Neeson is excellent in this action packed movie! Stranded in a frozen wasteland, he needs to avoid a vicious pack of wolves to get back to civilization. The attack scenes from the wolves are very graphic and will make the hair stand on the back of your neck! Definitely recommend.

    Entertaining Film, Shaky Plot

This film was packed with thrilling action scenes and was a bit of a roller coaster in terms of ups and downs. I thought it was pretty typical of Liam Niesom's roles and was worth watching, but didn't have a very deep or thought provoking plot.

Let's face it - Liam Neeson is awesome. I enjoy just about every action movie he is in (Taken 2 being a rare exception). The Grey would be good even if he wasn't in it - it is a surprisingly taut thriller. Recommended!

I would have given The Grey 5 stars as I am the type of person that needs a clear cut ending to a movie. Otherwise I loved this movie. The action sequences were "edge of your seat" exciting and any movie with Liam Neeson is a "MUST SEE".
