This is a great way to intro semi-scary movies to kids in a silly fun manner. Jack Black as always does great work bringing his characters to life. And who doesn’t adore Cate Blanchett? The story is fun and spooky and entertaining. Definitely worth watching again.

I purchased this for my grandchildren when they visit. They are all big Harry Potter fans, and enjoy the Harry Potter movies. All the grandchildren that have watched the movie loved it. This is a favorite of theirs and. I have a feeling we'll be watching this one many times.

This was a well done and interesting movie. I really enjoyed the concept and the plot and it even had some funny humor moments. I was not disappointed that I watched it once; however, I’m not sure I would rewatch this movie. But it was not a disappointment.

My initial perception was was flaky. After previewing a second time I thought the movie was thoughtful full of family fun and a great adventure for the child at heart. Stupendous. Jack Black at his best and Kate what can you say she is always spectacular.

The whole dynamic is rather typical of a relative being given responsibility for a child they barely know. Finding common ground in real magic is cool and the typical "New kid at school" struggle resonates well. The good v evil bit is also formulaic but satisfying.

I positively love this movie... spectacular performance by Jack Black! This movie is just wonderful and different. Not just the same old boring movie. It is definitely worth buying and one you will want to watch more than once. I find it addictive. A must see!!!

I'm a Jack Black fan, so my enjoyment was amplified by his presence. My daughter has 5-year-old boys and I thought this might be a little too scary for them, but I can see them enjoying most of the movie, so give them a couple of years and they'll love it.

Loved the movie and what a great way to spend the evening, watching it on my own big screen, and the price at best buy is great you can buy the movie for the price of a ticket at the theatre and watch it as often as you like ,and watch it with who you want.

This is a family "horror" movie, the movie is very creepy, and there are a few scenes that are downright scary/jump-worthy for kids. It's a definite good vs evil type of movie that provides some laughs, some screams and overall very good entertainment.

Jack Black is showing his real potential with this film. It is one of the most family friendly film today and really gives credit to the imagination. I certainly hope that there will be more of this series and look forward to another great performance.

Not recommended for adults; because it's definitely a children's movie. I don't believe that adults would enjoy this child movie. (In this case...adult age being 16 and older) But, my granddaughter loves the movie and she's 8 years old.

I saw this movie during the dollar summer movies. I didn't expect much with it starring Jack Black but I was surprised. I did some research and its based on a book series. I will be reading the book because I liked the movie so much.

I enjoyed this movie so much. After seeing Jack Black in Goosebumps and enjoying it, I was anxious to see how he did with this movie. I was not disappointed. The story line was interesting and a little bit black but overall it was fun to watch.

A little slow in the beginning while laying down the foundation of the movie, but it picked up speed quickly. It was quirky and very enjoyable, between being a Sorcerer's Junior Apprentice or Junior Harry Potter, with Jack Black's humor.

Now I really enjoy Jack black in these types of movies Goosebumps was great but I have watched this 4K Blu-Ray movie The house with clocks in the wall multiple times it's one of those movies where you don't mind doing that very entertaining

This enchanting story about wizards and witches is both entertaining and fun. The little boy "learns the ropes" from his uncle and his neighbor, played by the stylish Cate Blanchett. Great story for the Halloween season.

This was a great movie, full of suspense, a few laughs, and a small portion of scary scenes. Because of those scary scenes, I would not recommend this movie to kids younger than 8 or 10 years old. Otherwise, I think it's a great film.

Jack Black and Cate Blanchett have excellent comedic timing and banter in this movie! A surprisingly multifaceted movie that touches on everything from loss to magically enchanted furniture. You won't be disappointed!

Was hesitant about watching this film, but I figured what the heck. My family and I loved it! One of this year's best films to watch. Best Buy had it at a killer sale price that I couldn't pass by. Be sure to pick it up today!
