After many years of delays and development troubles, The Last Guardian was finally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2016. The latest game from the genius mind of Fumito Ueda, the man behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian lives up to its pedigree. In fact, this game moved me in ways that even Ico and Shadow of the Colossus never could. From a gameplay and graphics perspective, The Last Guardian is very much the true successor to Ico. Much like in that game, the main character and his companion must navigate together through beautiful environments by solving puzzles, with the ultimate goal of escaping to freedom. Although it began development as a PlayStation 3 title, the game is visually stunning. It has all of the hallmarks of a Fumito Ueda game, including a more graphically advanced version of his distinct visual style and incredible animation that tells a story all by itself. The Last Guardian is more than a game; it is an experience. If there was ever an argument for video games being art, this is it. I highly recommend it.

In the vein and from the same developer as Shadow of Colossus and Ico, this game offers an extremely engaging emotional experience between the character and Trico. Some frustration to be had for sure with the AI, but the visuals and story more than make up for it.

This is one of the best role-play games I've played,the game play is excellent, and the graphics are breath taking.

If you've played ICO, you'll know what to expect from The Last Guardian. It's a very similar game to ICO in a lot of ways. You'll traverse beautiful environments, solve puzzles, and experience a heartwarming, minimalist story. There are some tech issues, but this game is so great that those things are minor complaints.

This is a real beautiful game but what is frustrating are the controls. The camera just goes all over the place and it's hard to do much movements because of it. There was just too much hype on the game

Waited a long time for this to come out,but definitely worth the wait.Play it a lot,looks great and plays well.

Right off the getgo - yes, this game did suffer from its looong gestation period. That's just unavoidable. But with that said, it's still a stunning and beautiful game. The gameplay is where some will see the frustration of growth. Some old mechanics are still in play here. But overall, it leaves you feeling a little nostalgic towards playing games like Ico and Shadow of the Colusses - even the remake of SotC has similar gameplay hiccups, and that's okay. Sometimes the roughness around the edges is what adds to the experience most of us are looking for. Consider the mechanics of a Survival Horror game - most of us enjoy the rigid controls, as they add to the experience, especially tension. The same carries over with The Last Guardian - is it frustrating at times? Yes. Is it exhilarating and fun for more of that time? Definitely.

This was ordered by my grandson for his PS4 console. He loves the unit and all the games that he has ordered.

This is literally the cutest game I've ever played. I cried when Trico (or Triko) and the boy had to depart.

The beast is finicky, but it serves to help the player develop a bond. A unique and engaging experience.

Team ico has done it again. The game isn't perfect but this is done with purposeful intent. The puzzles are masterfully crafted with great care to detail. The main reason to pick up this game is the story. I wasn't able to put it down. 10/10

Great story that keeps you engaged. However, once you beat it there isn't much replay value, and considering how long it took to makecwith delays and all, it's a really short game. Story and visuals are top notch. Gameplay is really unique.
