This is a good game, but the flow of the game is a little slow. I like decision based games but would like more action.

The game starts off a little slow, but once you get into the main game you get drowned to it and you can't escape it.

Looks like a decent game. Story line just moved along too slow for me.

A lot of action, interesting characters, engaging story - all that you would expect from such an acclaimed game. A little slow to start, but addictive.

Game is great. If you are a fan of the uncharted series you will like this game since it's made by the same people. Has kind of the typical layout as their other games but I won't spoil anything.

This game has such a great plot and keeps you hooked the whole time. A little slow at times, but it adds to the suspense buildup. I definitely recommend this game.

This was more like a Choose-Your-Own Adventure book than a game for the majority of it. Just click where it showed you to continue the movie-like narrative. Key areas required some skill to get past and then more movie. Probably why it was included free with the PS4

The game starts off very slow with a lot of "movies", and I am finding it very hard to get into. Hopefully, it will improve with time. If BB allows edits to reviews, I will add more later. Won't recommend yet.

This game started out quite slow, it almost made me not want to play it. But my friend talked me into it and I'm glad he did. The story of the game was great, I was definitely emotionally attached to the characters. The graphics are amazing, the city looks amazing and the gameplay itself didn't have any real bad glitches.

This is now one of the best games I've ever played. I rarely care for story in video games but this is one that had me from the very beginning. The game play can be slow at times but not in a boring way. Still it all comes down to taste and this may not be for those that want constant action and no cutscenes. Everyone should at least give it a try though. The multi-player is also pretty fun and definitely seems like something I could really sink my teeth into.

This game is probably one of the best games ever made. While it starts off a little slow, it eventually picks up after you meet up with Ellie. The story is the best part of the game, it's like an emotional roller coaster, and this is coming from a guy that doesn't pay attention to the story in almost any game ever played. I've beaten this game maybe 8 times because it's so good. If you have a PS4 (or even PS3), this game is a must have. You can believe the few negative reviews if you want, but you're better off reading the top of the case where it says: "Over 200 game of the year awards". Those awards are for a good reason.

I heard a lot of buzz about this particular title, and it was on sale so I picked it up for my newly purchased PS4. The game is very cinematic and detailed but, for me, the gameplay feels a little slow. Maybe I'ven't invested enough time but the few hours I've committed to it so far have been semi-tedious if somewhat interesting. My guess is it gets better with progression. Perhaps it's best played with headphones on in the dark, to sort of help set the mood of the game. I recommend it as an experience but it's pacing doesn't fit with how I like to play. If I wanted to feel like I was in a movie I'd move to Hollywood, oh wait......

The game is as good as it was on the PS3. The visual and graphics enhancements for the PS4 are amazing. For those who haven't played the game, the gameplay is a bit slow. It's not a Call of Duty, Battlefield or Killzone type experience where everything is fast paced and constant action. However, the cut scenes and story are very good. I am sure this is the reason the game is being made into a movie. If you are someone who thrives on fast paced, you may not like this. I am one of those people, but I found The Last of Us to be a refreshing take on a quality game and not a rushed game (aka Battlefield 4).

Few games can make you cry; The Last of Us is one of those. The story of Joel and Ellie's trek across a post-apocalyptic US is fraught with many dangers, much sadness, and punctuated with moments of wonder. Through the journey, it's easy to become attached to the two. That vested interest makes the need to keep them alive all the more palpable. And, keeping them alive is what you'll be doing most of the time. Utilizing under-used survival horror gameplay, you'll find yourself holding your breath as you slowly sneak up on an enemy knowing that one false step could mean an army of them descending upon you, and a grotesque death for our characters. This is one of those games that, once finished, it's hard to start playing another game right away as it's impossible to measure up in comparison. The PS4 version bumps-up the already stunning graphics and adds all the current DLC including the single-player "Left Behind" all for $50.

I did not play this game on the PS3, so I went into this with no expectations. I am also an avid FPS player, so I was a little hesitant to buy this sort of game knowing I really enjoy the fast past of the typical FPS. This game opens pretty amazingly. The first hour is intense and fast paced. Then it runs into this lull for a few hours. I even stopped playing for a couple week because the game progress was soooooo slow. I was getting tired of having to move at a snail pace for every encounter... Then, you start to get new weapons and encounter more intense situations. From there, things never seem to stop getting more intense and more amazing. Every new situation seems to be better than the last and the next thing I know I just burned through an hour of my life without even noticing because the game had me so focused. For those who like the faster pace and do not get the hype on this game, I am guessing did not make it through that lull in the beginning. Once past that, I was hooked and continued to be amazed throughout. Amazing game that I highly recommend to everyone!

I bought it because it was only $30 and I heard the PS3 version was good. About five minutes in, I realized there would be zombies. I lost some interest. About ten minutes later, I realized it was by Naughty Dog. I lost almost all remaining interest (I had Uncharted 2, played on highest difficulty from the very beginning, finished it in a day and a half, and felt like I wanted my money back). I decided to keep going. At one point, I thought that The Walking Dead Season One had better character development! Somewhere around an hour in, I began to see that all of my previous thoughts were totally wrong. Full disclosure: I played on Hard from the very beginning; it took ~45 hours and I played it over a vacation so there were several 8+ hour days back-to-back. I became completely immersed so my experience may differ greatly from others. The character development is amazing. It creeps up on you slowly through spontaneous in-game conversations and triggered events. There are some cut-scenes, and they actually add a ton of value. I LOVED how there are optional/hidden dialogues sprinkled throughout the game...they also add real value and make the story even better. You don't "watch" it, you "participate" in it...awesome idea! Ellie's transformation from a seemingly innocuous teenage girl into a ruthless, self-sufficient killer is perfectly executed and draws a line in the sand for other games to cross. But that's only part of the story. Winter was my favorite season to play...without a doubt. I think most players would agree. I don't want to ruin it, so I'll just say the ending is what it needed to be. I bought the art book and poster kit afterwards because the whole experience resonated in my head many days later. IF YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST INTEREST IN THIS GAME, BUY IT!! RIGHT NOW!!! Be warned though: this game is so good, other games will probably leave you feeling at least a little disappointed. You'll never catch the dragon again ; @@@@@@@

This is one of the most immersing game experiences I've ever had. I actually felt as if I had become Joel, trekking through this deadly, near hopeless world, struggling to survive for just one more day. On occasion, this level of immersion is broken, but for the most part, I truly felt like I had stepped into the shoes of the protagonist. His emotions became mine- the frustration, the elation, the horror, the desperation... and the slow, creeping pall of hopelessness in this dark, damaged earth. If you're prone to night terrors or depression, do NOT play this game, because it will alternately terrify you and make you despair for the plight of this lost world. However, if you can handle the mature subjects of the tale, you're in for a real treat, and perhaps the greatest game to ever be produced in the genre of survival horror. Yes, this game is scary, to a level I'ven't felt since the original Silent Hill on PS1. I generally felt powerless in this world and some of the enemies (primarily Clickers and Runners) make my stomach tighten with dread. If you're super hardcore, and you want a REALLY scary experience, I recommend you play on Hard difficulty for your first play-through, because the number of supplies (ammo, med kits, shivs, bombs, etc.) that are available on the Normal difficulty level are far too abundant for players who want a supreme challenge. On the subject of crafting, this is a component of the game that is easy to learn, and fun to engage in. It further puts you into the mindset of Joel, a man desperate for survival, who has learned to salvage at all available opportunities. Slowly tuning up my weapons was also a lot of fun, though Joel is but a pale imitator compared to his rival protagonists (Nathan Drake, Marcus Fenix, etc.) in other games (but this is a good thing, for it feels realistic, and fits with the tone of the piece). Joel's wobbly aim, perpetual shortage of ammo, and rather sluggish speed make him feel like a real, middle-aged guy who has learned to survive in a dangerous world, not some superhuman who handles everything with grace. The stealth aspect is also handled brilliantly, and engaging in it's extremely satisfying. This stealth system is a perfect evolution of that which was established in the Metal Gear Solid series (particularly #2), utilizing a great visual cone and audio circumference for your enemies, which must be studied for vulnerabilities and exploited at every possible opportunity. Determining how to approach each new challenge (lots of trial and error will be involved), and how to successfully clear an area of enemies (generally without being detected, as ammo and health are so limited) is really fun. These challenges become "3D puzzles" in a way, as you must use your noggin to break down enemy patterns and AI reactions, with the added tension of knowing that it only takes one slip-up to result in failure - and these enemies really do make you feel the fear. Visually speaking, this game is remarkable, even by next gen standards. The improved graphics of the Remastered edition are immediately apparent to those who of us who played The Last of Us on PS3. Resolutions are incredibly detailed, but even more effective is the silky smooth frame rate. The attention to detail is simply staggering, and it all comes together to further enhance the emotional impact of this unforgettable experience. Gameplay is always more important than graphics in my book, but it certainly helps convey the emotions of the characters when everything looks this darned good. The Last of Us is like nothing else. It's, quite frankly, an exhausting experience, one that left my mind reeling with the consequences of my fascinating journey, and the unbreakable bonds I had formed with Ellie and Joel - two fictitious characters who seem unshakably real. I just can't forget about them, and I can't forget about what we've been through together. It's not just their story, it's OUR story. We are family, struggling to survive in a dangerous world. We are the last of us.
