It's hard to describe exactly why exactly this game is worth experiencing. Its not "one" system or gimmick the game has that is compelling on its own; rather, its the synthesis of all the different systems that work so marvelously well together that makes this game shine. The world constantly rewards you for being curious, the towns are great, and despite taking a departure from the Zelda "formula" devised originally in a Link to the Past, this game still very much feels like Zelda. The durability system does take a bit of getting used to, and the dungeons are a bit different than what you may expect from a Zelda game, but overall this is a worthwhile experience. Technically, there are a few frame rate drops on the Wii U version, but its hardly noticeable.

I love this game. It's a little lacking in the story department in my opinion, I'm a huge fan of the classic Zelda formula, but this does so much different so well that it's impossible to deny how good it still is. Maybe not a great Zelda game, but the risk of change was well worth it, because it's a great game on its own.

I've been a long-time Zelda fan. This game is a departure from recent Zelda games and is more akin to the original Legend of Zelda game. That being said, it is a very fun game and well worth the money. I'm not a huge fan of the cooking (I miss collecting hearts) and the weapons breaking, but those are really the only detractors from the experience in my opinion. If you've got a Wii U, don't spend money on a Switch just for this game. It renders at a slightly-lower resolution on the Wii U (720p vs 900p), but the Wii U version performs slightly-better as a result. If you want a Switch, by all means get one. But your Zelda: BotW isn't going to be significantly better on the newer system unless you just want the ability to play it portably.

The world looks amazing, the story is compelling, and the gameplay is super fun. There's so much to do and you can approach it any way you want. My only gripes are the menus and managing your inventory and items/weapons degrading super quickly. Maybe they can fix it with a patch but I doubt it. Also this game definitely chugs quite a bit on the Wii U especially when you're in villages. However, I'm having a blast overall and you're guaranteed a ridiculous amount of hours of enjoyment.

I've loved the Zelda series since the original NES version and I love almost all the games afterward, this one is a beautifully colored and great open world game with a great story and plenty of things to do.

As good as the hype says. It's the best Zelda game I've played. Couldn't wait for a Nintendo Switch so I purchased for the Wii U and I'm not disappointed. Amazing open world adventure. Highly recommended.

This game is just fun, open world, do what you want how you want it, I have enjoyed around 50 hours of gameplay and it just keeps me interested with quests, places to visit, characters, plenty of things to do

This is by far the best Zelda game I've played so far. I love how expansive the world is and how many hours of gameplay are available, whether it be side quests or following the actual story line. I LOVE.

Great story. This is back to the traditional type puzzle format. A lot of exploring to do. The graphics are more like the early releases. I would have preferred them to be better. Overall very well done.

This is one of the best Zelda games ever. So much to explore, and the shrines are filled with all different kinds of challenges. Might be hard for younger players, but it's incredible for older Zelda fans.

Now let me preface this by saying I love the legend of zelda series, and I love open world games. But I would have never anticipated that the two could blend together so well to be best of both worlds. But breath of the wild pulls it off. Never have a world so large felt so carefully constructed. Every single ledge feels like it was placed for a reason. There are secrets EVERYWHERE. Exploring has never felt so seemless, exciting, and rewarding. And with all that, the game is still littered with nods to past zelda games. The game is full of the charm I love from past zelda games. I love it and would recommend it for any person, no matter age or gender. It is a game built for everyone, and that is quite an achievement

This is an amazing addition to the franchise. The world is enormous and there is much to do. Game allows you to move at your own pace and decide for yourself what you want to do. Haven't stopped playing!

This is the best zelda game to date, everything in this world functions like it should and the gameplay as well as the story are intricate as well as enjoyable. Breath of the wild is extremely addicting.

It's amazing as an open-world game with countless things to do. I personally am a completionist and feel like the openness sometimes gets me lost. Great game and definitely a MUST PLAY though.

Not only the most epic zelda game ever buy one of the most epic games of all time. I'm not a huge gamer, im more into rpg based games but this game has me hooked. I only have 1 dislike and its seems to b a common one and only for many of us. The weapons break a lil too fast. However as one person commented it does force u to try different ideas and ways to play and defeat enemies. So some look at the negative as a real positive and I respect that point. Its def way more interesting than being able to simply defeat your enemies by running up and slashing with a sword. It requires tactics and the game is loaded with different abilities and styles for attack. Unlike any game ive ever seen or played

BOTW for the Wii U is a great game. It scratches the open world itch for Nintendo fans. Great game for new Zelda players as well as a comforting title for those of us who have grown with the series.

I have a loooong history with Zelda and BotW is one of the best Zelda games ever. If not the best. I have put over 70 hours in the game and I am still amazed at the things I am still discovering.
