Another masterpiece by nintendo. the game pushes the boundaries of the series with new gameplay mechanics (open world) but does them extremely well. Combat is VERY HARD, almost as hard as Dark Souls games which is ridiculous for a zelda title. Controls on the Wii U are horrible. I would give this a 90 or a 4.5/5 but since that's not possible I rounded up just for nintendo's good faith effort.

Has been a fantastic game so far. I'll admit it was a bit of an adjustment at first, bringing an open RPG to the Zelda franchise I wasn't sure would work but each time I sit to play the game grows on me. Puzzles are fun to work through and the open exploration is incredibly submersive. So far, this is looking to be a game I can thoroughly invest a lot of time in and has been worth the cost.

Of all of the open world games I've played, this one has the least number of obstacles that prevent you from exploring. With the exception of the far world borders on the outer edge of the map, everything else in the game is able to be climbed over, or in some way, interacted with to the furtherment of exploring. I have enjoyed every second of this game in the last 4 weeks of playing it.

Gave this game to my younger sister for Christmas and she loves it! The story is easy to follow and she has a great time figuring the puzzles out.

Picked up this game the day of release, didn't have a Nintendo switch so opted to get it for the Wii U, definitely the best Zelda game I have ever played! if you have a Wii U this is a must own title! The graphics are not visually demanding but the artwork is exquisite! The developers put a lot of thought into this game, probably the best open world game I have played as well!

This is a very non-traditional Zelda game. Dungeons are more puzzle-based. Combat is more frantic because all fights can end in game over if you are not careful. The biggest part of the game is exploration, so big, that even after 50 hours, I still have not uncovered the entire map. The only cons are inventory management and minor framerate drops in only the busiest areas.

Both the switch & Wii u versions are great. Must have if your a Zelda fan.

Breath of the Wild is like a modern throwback to the original Zelda. It drops you into this elaborate world and sends you on your way. You're given very little in the way of help and are forced to figure things out on your own. This makes the game all the more enjoyable when you do figure things out. The loading screens do offer some tips, and at times, the main story quest will also give you some more insights. The graphics are well done. They are a nice looking cel shaded style that makes you feel as if you're playing through a living anime. I definitely think the style and color palette they use makes full use of the Wii U's limited processing power. Gameplay is typical of other Zelda games and may require a bit of dexterity to handle things, but it's not unmanageable. You may want to practice some of the moves you'll learn, though. The storyline seems to be separate from the rest of the Zelda games, but completely in line with them. It's definitely a rich story that Zelda fans will find tugs at their heartstrings, if not making you feel nostalgic. Also for Zelda fans, there are a bunch of callbacks to previous games that will make you laugh. Overall, this is up there with my all-time favorites - possibly even my favorite Zelda game, though the original will always take top spot.

Nintendo keeps finding ways to make The Legend of Zelda in a class of its own. In this case, it's the wide expanse of Hyrule and the endless amounts of things to do. Framerate drops hurt the experience, but not by much when you're having this much fun. No major differences exist between this version and the Switch version, so be happy with this one if you find a copy.

IGN fans voted it best game of the year 2017! I am waiting on the next installment whenever that happens to play it hours a day for weeks!

The Breath of the Wild will appeal to anyone who loves to explore unknown areas, solve puzzles, and discover hidden locations and objects.

I debated on getting this, or waiting until the Switch was available, and I'm glad I took the plunge. This is, without doubt, one of the best Zelda games ever. The open world and ability to play it however you want is phenomenal. If you want to go hack and slash, you can; if you want to go stealth, you can do that, too. I highly recommend it to any Zelda fan.

Santa didn't bring a Switch for Christmas, but Breath of the Wild is just as good on Wii U!

I'm loving the open world of Breath of the Wild. The artwork is beautiful, the combat is interactive (although a little clunky since I only have the gamepad as a controller). I haven't experienced any bugs as of yet, but the game does take a toll on the Wii u.. mine makes a decent amount of noise while playing it which it has never done on any other game.

This game completely redefines open world. It truly lets you do whatever you want right off the bat, allowing you to approach the game however you desire. There are no clear directions on what to do. You get to craft your own adventure, which is an incredible thing. The story is fantastic as well as music and graphic design. A must have video game.

A great open world environment smart puzzles and challenging enemies. Does suffer frame drops but compelling story and game play compensates for its flaws. Wii U's swan song is an opus . One for the history books!

Yes yes this is exactly what we needed. A full Zelda expierence with the plus of an open world . Don't worry about this being just a Wii U version, remember the switch version is just a port. This game was built from the ground up for the Wii U so graphics do shine well here. The gameplay is amazing and so much to do in this vast big open world.

Love the game. Best open fantasy world to play in a long time. Doesn't seem to hamper the Wii U performance during play at all.

Received promptly on release date. This game is phenomenal. Words cannot describe how pleased I am with this purchase. Plays great on my Wii U, with the exception of some frame rate drops that I understand are a cross-platform issue. It's difficult to criticize without getting nit picky, really a must play for anybody who likes adventure games.
