This game is an amazing take on a classic. It is a bit short but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. I've spend hours already exploring it's charming world. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this game. It combines the old with the new. Definitely has the feel of the old school game I played as a kid, but holds my interests with new challenges and adventures.

It is a remake of one of the best handheld games ever made. It runs a little crap on the Switch 1. I hear it runs better on the Switch 2 with resolution upgrades and HDR support. Regardless, it is one of my most loved Switch games.

My son and daughter already played the other Zelda game(s). So they had to have this one. It didn't disappoint. They are hooked. Very handy during the COVID-19 lockdown.

This game is great and fills older gamers with nostalgia. Young kids will also enjoy the cute aesthetics of the world/characters. This game wont dissapoint.

I haven’t played a Zelda game like this before. I know it’s a remake. So that aside it is good I love the art work if it. It’s fun and can be challenging which keeps me playing.

I never played the original, this is a very entertaining game. Maybe not as long as others, but it’s essentially a port of a constrained earlier game, So I’ll let it slide.
The value may not be there from that perspective, but If you’rea LoZ fan, you’ll find this to be a great addition.
I’d wager for parents looking for pressies, this is an approachable game for an average 9/10 year old and beyond and maybe an active gamer as young as 8.

There are a lot of mixed reviews out there and it really all depends on the experience the players had in the past with the original. This is a square for square remake of the original. It has a beautiful updated look, excellent controller mechanic improvements and a few extras there weren't in the original. I loved playing this game on Gameboy and to play this on Switch just took me back to those gameboy days albeit with a completely updated/modern feel! Definitely worth the purchase even at full price. One of the best in the Zelda Franchise in my opinion.

I absolutely love it. I played the original and DX version, and while this game essentially the exact same game, the slight changes and graphics made this an awesome experience! Best Buy made my experience as easy as can be.

I’ve been a fan of Zelda games since the original released for the NES. My personal favorite in the series is A Link to the Past and you can bet I spent a lot of time playing that game. I’m a huge fan of the top down versions of these games because there’s so much character and attention to detail with all of the maps. I never got around to playing Link’s Awakening when it released on the gameboy because I didn’t believe a huge sprawling world would be represented well on the portable format. I was wrong.
Enter Link’s Awakening for the Switch! A top down Zelda that follows the same formula I grew to love with the original and A Link to the Past with a fresh coat of paint! The music is wonderful, the graphics are beautiful and the secrets are aplenty! There are exclusive dungeons that have unique items in each of them that allow you to access different areas and huge bosses that are fun to battle. The over world map is detailed enough to plan where you need to go and I really like having the ability to leave markers for yourself to reference later if you come across a potential secret you don’t have access to. It’s a neat and tidy package that begs to be opened.
With glowing praise there will always be cons and the issues I have with the game aren’t gamebreaking but rather minor annoyances. You are forced to use the analog rather than the dpad which imo felt more suited to this game and the frame rate is all over the place while exiting and entering buildings and caves. The game also isn’t very long either. My gametime clocked in at just under 25 hours which for a Zelda game is pretty low. The story is also a little shallow as well.
My issues aside this game is absolutely worth playing if you’ve never experienced it before. I think $60 is a bit steep for the amount of game you get here but it’s Zelda in it’s finest format and that alone should warrant a purchase from the people that appreciate the format.
