One of the best 3D Zelda experiences ever. Now over 20 years old, it set the blueprint for the series. This version is for the Wii U and plays great. You can enjoy both big screen action, or enjoy it on your gamepad. The Virtual console version plays wonderfully.

This is a wonderful game which I've loved since I was a kid. Unfortunately, the Wii U downloadable version has some serious and unique problems. Like all N64 games on the Wii U virtual console, this game suffers from dark, muddy color correction which makes it look noticeably worse than it did originally. It looks like someone threw a gray filter over the whole game. Additionally, the controls are not mapped well to the Wii U's controller, creating a major "dead zone" where control stick input doesn't register. This makes aiming weapons much harder than it should be and handicaps the experience. Nonetheless, the game is still playable. Ocarina of Time is a terrific game but you shouldn't play it on Wii U. If you can, get it on N64, Gamecube, 3DS, or any other means you can. Consider the Wii U version a last resort.
