Yes this movie is filmed in Black and White, but it is so very interesting to watch. The Acting by William Dafoe and Robert Pattinson is excellent, and keep your attention. The time period it takes place is the 1800's on a lonely remote island off New England, and then things get interesting as a storm approaches.

Best Buy has always been good with getting awesome blu rays and dvds. A lot of my collection comes from Best Buy. The Lighthouse was available the day of release and I got it for under $20. The movie is awesome! I recommend seeing or buying it

When I bought this I wasnt sure what to expect But was delighted to find I kept interested throughout William Da Foe and Robert Pattinson in the 1800's an approaching storm threatens their lives This is the least of the problem when unknown men start arriving Putting them in further danger

This story line is much more than I expected. It portrays what 2 men go through emotionally and mentally during an extended period of isolation working on a lighthouse under some extreme conditions. This is almost a horror movie but not really. I'm not a fan of this kind of movie but it is quite captivating.

Fantastic performances from Robert Pattinson and Willem DaFoe. A stimulating and interesting camera aesthetic that is artfully presented throughout the film's runtime. A gripping, evocative, and eerie story that leaves much room for interpretation and further rewatches. What's not to like?

This movie is a little different for sure but if you like outside the box movies and ones that really make you think after you are done watching, this is the movie for you. My husband and I watched this at a Bookhouse Theater and really loved it so we purchased this movie when it came out.

Fantastic film with award worthy performances as well as direction, cinematography, and scoring. Don't let the lack of nominations fool you, this is a tremendous psychological horror film with arthouse leanings. Would have preferred a 4k release and more special features but still a great presentation.

This movie is bananas, from the director of the VVitch comes R Pat and Willem in a decent into madness. Get ready to fall into a hole of madness with them, on this beautifully shot movie. Minimum of extras on this disc, but if you like to get weird, this is a flick for you.

Eggers' previous film, The Witch, was a great period film that captured a palpable sense of paranoia and hysteria set in a 17th century New England countryside. His follow-up hones his affinity for both period pieces and psychological horror, excelling in almost every way. Highly recommended.

If you saw The Witch and didn't like it, this movie probably isn't for you. It moves slow at times and you have to pay attention, but the pay off is worth it. The black and white coloring and square aspect ratio may also turn people off, but it adds to the aesthetic.

This movie is a type of story i was not expecting, but it was a really good one! The acting was very good from both actors. This story pulls from ancient mythology. If your into it see of you spot the mythology within the movie or look it up like i did.

The director is a true visionary. You should also watch his first film The VVitch. I appreciate the chance taken in telling this story in black and white. Everything together feels like a mix of David Lynch and H.P. Lovecraft. A slow burn but very entertaining!

William Dafoe was robbed of a supporting actor Oscar nomination. Film was so well crafted and makes the B&W film trend a great comeback! Was hoping for a 4k release but still happy for my bluray edition. Cinematography is absolutely stunning.

Gritty psychological thriller. Not for everyone as there is some disturbing content. Nice to see Pattison in a real role instead of some cheesy Twilight-type dreck. Show he can really act beyond a reluctant vampire. Dafoe is his usual genius.

This movie might be seen as pretentious by the aspect ratio and subject matter. However, it works in this movies favor as you witness these two lighthouse keepers lose their minds.

This movie shows how good an actor Robert Pattinson is. Teaming him up with Willem Dafoe and going toe to toe with him in a very tense and uncomfortable movie was a joy to watch.

The lighthouse not only has a good story, but there is alot of note-taking to be had when learning about filmmaking, the cinematography, the lighting, the dialogue, etc. All and all it was a "hauntingly suspenseful thrill ride."

This is based on a true story. If you watch it, notice the seagull. He was my brother and shall be avenged upon fort nite. Be ware the sea, gents, this is not your grandfather's coal fire that burns at night, this is a place where men become more.

I purchased this having just recently seen the trailer for it - and was immediately reeled in by Willem Dafoe's participation. His performance, was indeed, SUPERB! One you truly would not want to miss.
