Not exactly what I was expecting...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is not exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting something like shadows of war or shadows of mordor. This game is completely different. Instead of feeling fun and flawless this game feels devoid of any fun. Too many times I died because the game feels broken or unfinished. While there is a certain appeal to making a game feel difficult (elden ring, dark souls etc.) what this game does is just leave you feeling like why even bother. The story is so so and feels like something I'd read in a fanfiction. The gameplay elements most of the time are atrocious, too many deaths trying to do the simplest of things such as swinging from a pole to a ledge or just jumping from ledge to ledge. In the beginning the game feels like it could have potential but the more you keep playing and then you realize what you're playing is actually a poor attempt at vintage platforming. I can imagine only the hardest of the hardcore lord of the rings fans might play this and even if they don't it at least has some value for collectors. Just my opinion save your money and pick up a copy of Crash Bandicoot 4 instead.

Disappointed and Demoralized
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a PlayStation gamer and Lord of the rings fan, I was looking forward to playing Gollum: The Lord of the rings on my PS5. In addition, I’m a trophy hunter so getting the platinum trophy/100% completion is key for my gaming experience. Poor graphics and controls, glitches and bugs, and the overall experience is quite disappointing. I typically don’t write negative reviews. I prefer to focus on the positive, and give credit where credit is due. After a wonderful experience with the game “Shadow of Mordor”, I had high expectations and thought, an adventure with Gollum would be a unique and fun experience. Why? Why release the game in this state? Take a look at the reviews from critics and users alike.

Nice graphics, Cool Theme, Not Quite Easy to Play
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not an easy game, so my son isn't enjoying it like I'd hoped, but it's still worth getting, in my opinion due to the graphics and the ability to have a LOTR themed game that you can lose yourself in. Lego Hobbit seemed to be the most enjoyable to him and the music was incredibly peaceful to listen to so if you're looking for a game that is LOTR themed for your kid or teen (or yourself), I'd suggest that one first. But if you're looking at this one, I'd grab on sale like I did for your kid because it may disappoint slightly. It's quite pricey but with Black Friday halfsie offer I'd say I'm happy with having gone with it, but wish it was a better game for him.

Unworthy to be called LOTR
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gollum’s graphics are just terrible. His movement are irratic abd ubresponsive at times. Very boring gameplay in what should have been a stellar, action packed, excifing game. Difficult canera angles and again, i mention, just awful graphics. Seriously. So sorry i spent $60 on this.

Should’ve been cheaper
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won’t give this one star because honestly we haven’t beat the game yet. Two seems fair at this point. The graphic leave much to be desired, and the story is underwhelming. Gollum is a great character, but maybe not as the main focus of a video game. It’s not unplayable, but I think $60 was a little too much for this.

Big disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is not fun, tragically. I played about an hour and just jumped climbed and sneaked in that time. No addicting dynamic here or dopamine generated.

Collectable?
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for collectability, haven't played it, but they say it may be the worst game of the year, then the studio that created it shut down, so no more production. Hopefully in 10 or 20 yrs it will be worth something

Good for the Lore
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping for a bit more from this game since the developer did take additional time by delaying the release. Mechanics and graphics are not the best, but feel free to play it if you're in yhe mood for more Lord of the Rings lore!

Meh

Don't waste your time or money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give it negative stars if I could. This game is horrible and should of never been released as a finished product. Game crashes, stutters and just overall a lot of bugs. Not worth the money at all, I really tried to like it being a LOTR fan but this game will get traded in immediately.

Stay far away from this one
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has to be one of the most regrettable purchases I’ve ever made. The gameplay is horrendous. The game doesn’t always recognize when you mean to run or jump making it easy to die. The graphics look like the studio gave up halfway through development. The voice acting is beyond reproach. Avoid this game at all costs. If you were dumb enough to buy this like I did, toss it back into the fires of Mount Doom.

Not precious at all.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one is a tough nut to crack. On the one hand, it has the foundation to tell a truly original story. On the other, it was plague by numerous delays that should have produced a quality experience. Unfortunately, it too far too long for it to be delivered in the state it is; a broken & painful slog in a universe no amount of love can salvage. It's really unfortunate we can't seem to get quality games in Tolkien's universe these days.
