This was a great movie for a space nerd like me. I always love science fiction. However the movie does have plot holes. For example why would they have an extra Mars Ascent Vehicle for a future mission when the wind is so bad that the crew had to leave Mark Watney behind. Also in Mars does not get such high winds granted this is a work of fiction. Overall the movie was fun to watch and I'm glad they included an extended cut. What I can't overlook is the use of Viva Elite cases which is notorious for leaving residue on discs, and are made of brittle plastic that breaks very easily. This cannot be good for the discs in the long run. Collectors beware!

The 4K quality is awesome. The one star is for what seems like a disc issue or remastering issue. When playing the movie, there is a bright white vertical line in the extreme right side of the screen. Adjusted all aspects and could not get rid of it. Other 4K discs don't have this. Initially ordered on December 2nd finally came today. Something with an issue during shipping... The blu ray case came cracked, have not opened to see if movie itself is damaged yet but now I win a trip to the store yay!

Best Buy says "[Includes Digital Copy]". Well, sure. It says on the box in VERY fine print "REDEEM DIGITAL HD CODE BY:01/12/19.

The picture quality of this disc is completely inferior to the regular BD disc. Picture is very dark with a gray color cast, colors are muted. The case work is top notch but that's as far as it goes.

Arrived COVERED in dents. It was still in the wrapping. The inner plastic part of the spine was cracked as well. No spine slash though.

I first saw "The Martian" in the theater and it was so good that I wanted to buy the DVD so I could watch it again. Matt Damon was great! And I liked all the humor.

Watched this movie and for the life of me I can't see why it was labeled a comedy ? I didn't enjoy this movie at all, really could have done with out it.

Interstellar was so much better. This movie had some highlights, but it could have been better

Great adventure movie for kids BUT they use the F word twice and written even more. I watched it once and will not show it to anyone else.

I didn't even see this movie I bought it for a friend.

Watched this for 2 hours, and the end ruins the whole thing. Just stupid.

Purchased after friend told us was good movie. Certainly Is.

Many recent UHD Bluray titles will be unconverted from 2k masters and won't actually be 4k. This is simply because many recent films shot digitally were not shot at 4k or above resolution but only 2k. Even many films that have been shot on true 4k or even film, only had visual effects and post production done at 2k. Please do your homework before purchasing "4k" Blurays.
