One of the best movies I’ve seen. Took an Impossible storyline and made it completely believable. Of what I’ve seen, easily one of Matt Damon’s finest performances.

For those who have yet to purchase, be certain that your 4K/UHD of The Martian has printed on it "The Extended Edition"; as there are two 4K/UHD editions that are available. I prefer this version. Great Ridley Scott film that rounds out his "Alien" and "Blade Runner" films that are also now available on 4K/UHD, with all 3 looking fantastic.

I thought this movie was just so-so when I originally watched it a few years ago. The special effects were good but I didn't feel any suspense or sense of urgency. Fast forward to 2018, I found this title on sale for less than $5 and decided to buy and watched again. The 2nd viewing turned out to be a much better experience as there were details that I missed before that made the movie better this time around. I still think the movie could have added more suspense to pull the viewers in but for half the price of a movie ticket, I feel this is a good title to own and watch again.

Absolutely underrated sci fi film. This film gives you all the feels and then some. What a wonderful ride and so gorgeous. Became one of my favorite films to date.

Incredible sci-fi drama with a great cast. Watched on a simple 4k tv with low budget speakers and sub woofer that I can "get by" with.

Watched movie in theater and really enjoyed. This edition includes a second disc with additional information about the movie that is very well done. The movie itself is an extended edition with some scenes that were not in the theatrical version. These scenes and very enjoyable and fill in some of the blanks in the movie.

I love Ridley Scott. I love Matt Damon. I love this movie. I have watched it probably 10 or 12 times by now, and I always pick up on something new with every viewing. It is an excellent movie, with a great script, and wonderful acting. If you have not seen The Martian yet, do yourself as favor and go buy the movie.

Good Dolby Atmos surround sound - good story, it might be a little slow for some, but I think the pace is good as the story develops and builds.

My wife and I find this movie very entertaining in the original form and now having it on Blu ray and in an extended format mean that we can enjoy watching it again. The movie follows a classic storytelling format based on the hero's journey. The actors and actresses do a wonderful job of playing their parts.

Loved the book. Loved the movie. Looks fantastic on 4K. Originally owned the digital HD version. Also wanted it on disc and upgraded to 4K. Fox Studios' 4K movies come with a digital copy, but they won't upgrade your digital movie to the 4K version like most every other studio I've done this with (upgrade to 4K even though I already own the 1080 hd). Even though the 4K digital versions are available for sale. Hopefully once Disney buys them this policy will change. I'm hanging on to the digital codes just in case.

This was a great movie for a space nerd like me. I always love science fiction. However the movie does have plot holes. For example why would they have an extra Mars Ascent Vehicle for a future mission when the wind is so bad that the crew had to leave Mark Watney behind. Also in Mars does not get such high winds granted this is a work of fiction. Overall the movie was fun to watch and I'm glad they included an extended cut. What I can't overlook is the use of Viva Elite cases which is notorious for leaving residue on discs, and are made of brittle plastic that breaks very easily. This cannot be good for the discs in the long run. Collectors beware!

Awesome movie for those into sci fi and like to have a movie library.

This is a review of the extended cut version. I initially was bummed the code stated that it could be expired depending when it was bought in 2019, but I didn’t buy this for the code. I bought it for the actual media. Detail is crazy and the sound mix is perfect! Great pic for sure

A movie I thoroughly enjoy made even better in 4K. Incredible cast, well acted, well written and spectacular scenery.

I read the book first and didn't particularly care for the theatrical edition. The extended edition is fantastic.

4K makes this excellent movie jump off the screen on my fantastic new LG B2, which I also bought at Best Buy.

This movie is already rated high in my books even without 4K. The added 4K features is the topping on the cake. This Ridley Scott directed movie staring Matt Damon is great for the family. Some adventure, drama and a bit of comedy. The story and cast performance made my top 10.

Matt Damon's performance in this movie is exceptional. The included digital code also allows for viewing in 4K via iTunes which is a terrific added bonus considering the cost of this disc. 4K and HDR make scenes on the Martian landscape even more immersive.

I had this movie forever on streaming but only in 1080. It looks so incredible in 4K, plus the movie itself is awesome.

There are many movies about MARs exploration and this one is among the most credible - great acting with suspense, drama and a little humor thrown in to keep you on your toes. Now in UHD quality and resolution plus extra footage not seen in theaters - a great package.
